Hmm maybe Sonia is the serial killer? A bit obvious but I can dig it. Would explain the huge swimsuit, it's to cover the blood.

I just noticed the X on Teru's face is a fork and a knife, lol.

The trial is suspended, and I think that's my cue to take a break before it gets too thrilling.

That was the only debate that I timed out on in the entire series. I think I got it just by randomly guessing everything until something worked.

The worst part about the gravel and swimsuit is that I figured the gravel was used to create a slapjack-style weapon, but I still struggled with it because a swimsuit would suck ass to use like that, as opposed to a sock which Girl E would have to have on her foot.

Well at least that piece of meat is very conspicuous and was talked about multiple times.

Oh yes, I fumbled at that too.

Narration: "I want to play a new game. Is that what you are thinking?". Nope. I'm sure that is not what I am thinking, or will ever be thinking during this playthrough.

Logic Dive is alright. A bit unnecessary, but alright.

Wonder what her motive is. Maybe she worked for Fuyu's family and wanted to get revenge too? Or she is the serial killer, which I suppose matches with an Ultimate Swordswoman.

"Littering is not allowed" has got to be the most pro-detective rule I've ever seen. Really hard to hide evidence with it.

So she came up with the whole serial killer thing to get voted for and have everyone executed but Fuyu. And here I am thinking accomplices were impossible in this game unless there were separate murders. Neat.

Yes, Nagito's laugh is amazing.

So Fuyu planned to kill Mahiru but in the end he didn't have the guts to do it. So Peko took over and did the job for him. Fuyu then tries to sacrifice himself to save Peko, but she won't budge. And now he refuses to say she is just a tool of his. That's a great way to humanize Fuyu. Good job, game.

Wait, did Fuyu die too? Danmit, Monokuma, just as he was becoming likable! I guess it wasn't Monokuma's fault rhough, Fuyu rushed into the execution scene to try and save her. Tragic.

He lives, thanks to DA RULEZ. Phew.

Fuyu just earned an express ticket to surviving the endgame. It's unlikely he's going to die after all this trouble.

Monomi hinting at a bunch of plot. If there was any doubt she was one of the good guys, it's now confirmed. It seems there is some advantage to them staying in the island instead of leaving. Just like the last time.

I guess it was sporting of Monokuma to make that execution "Go out swinging in a fucking samurai movie"

Good case overall. It does set up Fuyu and Hiyori, but in the end the twist is really that Fuyu was involved anyway, just not the killer, and Peko did it instead. I should have paid more attention to that sequence of girls arriving at the diner, that was a big part of the puzzle. The serial killer curveball was interesting, too.

I guess I liked it more than Case 1, because Nagito being part of everything for crazy reasons kind of stained that case. Like it left some plot thread unresolved. I suppose they will solve Nagito eventually, then.

Just popping in to say I guessed the killer in all the DR1 cases, except for Mondo's, where I also guessed Byakuya. As for DR2, my guesses for the cases you've done so far were Nagito and Sonia. I had good logic for both, in fact, I nailed the entire second case, except I thought the blood wasn't washed off, but hidden under the wetsuit.

You have probably noticed, and will continue to notice, that the DR2 cases are much, MUCH better at concealing the goings-on of every murder.

Also gonna echo that the gravel in the swimsuit thing is ridiculously obtuse.

Im probably in the minority on this one, but I think 2-2 was my least favorite in this game. It was still good, I just enjoyed the others more.

I liked 2-3 less but thats really because it was the only one in DR2 I figured out immediately.

BONE ON THE MEAT

For that one, I thought I put in "Meat On The Bone" for the first try, but I must have screwed up the order there, so I was struggling with all the other combinations not working until I finally went back and tried "Meat On The Bone" again and it worked.

It really doesn't help that about half the possibilities are grammatically correct, and it's your first exposure to the mini game.

I was disappointed with 2-2 because I liked Peko and wanted her to be in the game longer. Was the most interesting character in the cast. I wasn't very connected to anyone else. I didn't care for Fuyuhiko and honestly didn't really want to see him have a redemption arc. At least Peko's execution sequence was awesome. In fact, maybe she only lost because Fuyuhiko was there.

So guys, all this binging of DR I did ended up causing my arm to hurt, and I'm also about to start a new job that will make me spend even more time on PC, so I intend to take a break on this game at least until my arm heals. Will probaly take until next week.

(It's an old thing, but too many consecutive hours clicking made it come back. It should heal again if I cut the source of stress, which is DR2).

Btw, is there anyway to go forward on game dialogue with keyboard instead of mouse? The main issue is all the consecutive clicking I have to do.

You could also switch to gamepad.

I'm sad Mahiru is offed this early. But at least in DR2 and on everyone has the full friendship time sequence so we get more of her.

Using a controller is what I'd recommend for your arm problem. It's actually a pretty comfortable way to play! You lose a bit of the "zip" factor of using a mouse but in your case it sounds more than worth it.
