People need to stop trying to look for a person to blame and understand that this is the price of automation, theres no stopping it, and this isnt even the tip of the iceberg yet.

Lots of jobs are going away and society and the economy are gonna have to completely restructure to accommodate the fact.

They never should have been bailed out to begin with. Bush started it, and then Obama went all out with it. It is not the role of government to pick winners and losers and prop up failing industry using taxpayer money. Trump did it with Carrier in IN. VA and NY just gave away the farm for Amazon. This should be something we can all agree is wrong regardless of which side of the aisle youre on. Im sorry, but if a company is failing it is because customers and the free market in general dont desire their good or service. Either be more competitive or offer a better good or service.

Several months ago, a car dealership flooded and several dozens of cars were swept away. It occurred to me how wasteful it is to have thousands of dealerships displaying hundreds of new/used cars that nobody is buying.

afaik this doesn't have to do with automation, it's a matter of discontinuing some of their less profitable offerings and shutting down unprofitable facilities.

Design better cars, perhaps? And in the mean time, lay off or slash the salaries of the higher-ups that are actually responsible for the company's shortcomings, rather than front-line workers that are doing their jobs perfectly.

That's stupid. Learning how to drive a car isn't going to hurt you, and it makes a lot of sense to have it as a prerequisite for operating any other motor vehicle (the same laws, plus it's good to be able to understand how cars are driven so you can understand their limitations and the challenges other drivers are facing (i.e. blind spots)). If you want to be able to drive a scooter and you need a general license first, go get your general license and stop your paranoid whining.

For you, sure. For me, no. For most normal people, no. Even in the rain here, it would be dangerous. We have like no drains in town. So when it rains, it floods. Certain streets, you cant even see the sidewalks, let alone the roads.

It does, however, really suck (the worst was biking in ice pellets with a headwind). It can also be pretty dangerous (bike or scooter), given that you have no protection against any cars that may lose control due to the adverse conditions, and you yourself are significantly more likely to lose control (when it comes to maintaining traction, 4 wheels>>>>>>>>>2 wheels).

Yes and that's not new information either. But if you're concerned about the environment, you should really consider giving up animal products all together. At the very least, reducing your consumption of animal products has more impact than driving or not driving.

If cutting it back is not everyday, then Im already cut back on meat. I dont eat it everyday. And definitely not every meal. Except on days I eat pizza all day. Usually, it has toppings... that being said, while I have cut back on eggs because Im lazy, the one thing I wont cut back on it cheese. But Im sure I eat less meat then most people I know...

Sure. If you want to make it sound like that, go right ahead. My family is a recycling family. I was the one that got them started early when I was young. But whatever. Im an concerned about the environment. But Im not changing my lifestyle to give up most foods I like. You said cut back. And as I explained above, Im. It constantly eating meat.
