For the record I dont really care what l3fty rules with regards to Janus and FBike. What happened sucks a lot especially as the #1 Light backer here, but it is what it is. The contest is almost done anyways thankfully. Im fine with whatever ruling l3fty decides

Overruling a lawyering isn't totally without precedent, but I don't think any host has done it since raytan. FFD even allowed Denzo's kamikaze attack on Cid P.

I think Eddv should get the standard 5 round ban FFD came up with, and the other two should be out for the remainder of the contest. Denzo was banned for a contest for his stunt, granted it was much more direct than what happened here since he intentionally caused the lawyering himself, but the "birthday" quote and the Phoenix Wright impersonation are dickish things to do. If you're going to camp on a lawyering that way, then when you expose it the least you can do is not be a dick.

Charon was the one giving updates that round. That's an entirely different problem.

That's not actually true though, and I kinda take offense to that. I definitely never gloated. I did notice it, but it was 5 minutes after the round ended.

I was also the only person who updated SMFFFC in those days, for years, because the host was not as today's hosts are. It was also the last time I ever updated for SMFFFC because of comments like that. I asked raytan to overturn the lawyering because it was my updating that made the mistake, since save times were not really checked way back 8 years ago or whatever it was.

The person who saved early was also a dirty cheater anyway, so really, Ultros should have stayed eliminated. But I'm a little surprised at that implication Xuxon, didn't expect that coming from you. Gloating is not in my nature because of pessimism, especially charon of 8 years ago level pessimism.

I don't dislike Ultros though... I've saved him before. I'd have only been happy to do that if it was during his big year when he looked like a major threat to win due to the fiasco. If my memory serves me right, I was immediately pounced on then anyway and there's definitely no way I would have even been allowed to enjoy the moment if I was actually interested in doing so.

Keep in mind back then there was no spreadsheet, and lawyerings were typically found after the round had ended. I found one and acted; I just so happened to be the updater, because I always was. No one called out anyone else for similar stuff because no one ever wanted to update SMFFFC back then. I really don't feel like I should have been singled out just because I handled 90% of the updating duty; lawyering was a bigger part of the game back and finding one had some element of fun in it.

Hmm look, the way I see it, withholding information is pretty scummy, yes, but it shouldn't result in a ban
What I suggest-

1.The host, and ONLY the host, should be allowed to update the spreadsheet and post updates
2.If it's too much work (because well nobody wants to sit in front of a computer 4 hours each day to update a spreadsheet of a board game) he can ask the help of ONE person he trusts
3.Regular users should help and check saving times and inform other people if they are early BUT they are not obliged to do so
4.Witholding this information should NOT be considered a bannable offense. It is the host/s responsibility to check save times
5.Increase one round ban for someone saving early and causing lawyering from one round to two
Lawyering shouldn't happen anyway if the hosts are competent, but rush lawyering can still happen

Now I know, nobody really wants to be a host and IIRC it took some time before someone was willing to take Leon's place, but it's been confirmed again and again that regular users can't be trusted

Yeah it was the same year, but I feel Ultros's run was apart from that and rooted in the fiasco, because it was the year Marche won. Ultros was having a typical performance otherwise before that.

But I thought back then it was fishy. I raised questions against porchy early on, and I believed that "amy" was up to something. Honestly I believe it was just raytan altogether and there was no amy, but I'm not gonna dwell on ancient history or argue that.

I'm not sure when it started but Marche was always gonna be the winner anyway. I don't remember it happening that early, and I don't really trust that wikia because I'm pretty sure I know who wrote it and it doesn't read with an eye to the unbiased to me.

I don't see any reason fbike should have any penalty against him. Any "he knew before" argument is reading into details we can't possibly know.

Also if that's what the community rule is, that should be added to the opening post. I had no idea what it was.

Community rule is basically "Don't be a dick." If someone comes up with a new and innovative way to be a dick that isn't covered in the rules, that covers it. Like Denzo intentionally saving early to get out Cid P. Nobody had really considered that before, but he got community rule banned for the rest of the contest.

Also I lean FBike probably knew before (see: everything Lopen said) but it shouldn't be banworthy.

For many characters, top 20 is a great achievement, but for Lightning, it's just another contest. Perhaps the next time she reaches a final, she won't run into an unbeatable juggernaut. This actually drops Lightning from 94.41% to 93.36%, but she still has no real threat to her position at number 1 in the STATS at nearly 9% ahead of #2.
