The NFL said the call last week was correct even after getting hammered for it.

Well he was carted off for a fairly innocuous hit where no contact was made with his lower body and it looks like a knee injury (was basically a shoulder barge as he stepped out of bounds)

I don't understand why each team getting an equal amount of possessions isn't implemented. It's such a no brainier and eliminates the only issue with OT.

It's ridiculous that either of those is a penalty in the first place but for sure the one that got no called is a worse decision. The other thing about the Matthews call is you can see clear as day in the background there is massive holding that gets no called.

Like it's to protect the players? What about all the hits the RB's and WR's take that are way worse. It's bullshit how protected QB's are. If you don't want your QB's to take big hits then get a better O-line

QB bring in the money/are the stars is what it is.

I wonder if they have some data from 2008 or something showing they took a hit in revenue when Brady went down for the season or something.

Right but getting hit is part of the game. They are fundamentally changing the game to protect QB's.

Personally, what QB gets rolled out has zero bearing on if I watch a game or not.

It's not so much the qb being the star in of himself, as it is them making the offense roll and the game more enjoyable to watch as a whole. Offense sells. Defense doesn't. So if you have a bunch of scrubs manning the offense, there's no offense.

I don't mind them changing the game to protect qbs but they also need to make concessions to the defense to keep the game balanced. Otherwise why even trot a defense out there? If they keep skewing the game more and more in favor of offense, then pretty soon you won't have anyone who wants to play defense. Maybe let there be 12 defensive personnel or something.
