Oh fuck, what if they have like LeBron and the Tunes vs a brainwashed Jordan and the Monstars. It'd appeal to teens, the 20 to 30-somethings that grew up with Space Jam 1, and everyone who debates who the real GOAT is!

Then at the end, Jordan comes to his senses, switches teams and they do some cheesy as fuck double dunk and prove that ridiculous arguments where there's no answer are stupid as hell.

I'd give it a 10/10.

I'm suprised because I always thought Space Jam was a giant meme film that people only liked ironically. Was I wrong the whole time, or is the Space Jam renaissance a recent development, like what the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy is starting to get?

One more thing. Since the Monstars turned good at the end of the first film, will Swackhammer be back with new Monstars, or will the old ones go back to being bad guys?

Space Jam was a fucking live action movie with 3D Looney Toons characters, it was a technology marvel not many movies did beforehand, so it was damn unique
It doesn't matter if the movie sucked (I don't remember) the idea of real people and fictional characters in the same movie was amazimg back then, that was enough
Kinda like Advent Children, didn't matter if it sucked - it was all about watching those characters in motion

Objectively speaking, it's certainly not a great movie. But it was a pretty big deal when it came out--this was Michael Jordan's first movie, when he was still immensely popular, and stuff like Roger Rabbit and Cool World were old enough that a new generation of kids had never seen the "cartoons and humans coexist" genre before.
