EVERYONE has global supply chains so everyone gets hurt.

Like yeah its hurting China while they're pursuing austerity measures related to personal but....they're a control economy. They can literally tune most of the impact out of their plans and they started out way ahead anyway.

Capitalism is less nimble and efficient in that regard. It MAY succeed in bringing China to the table but....they were already at the table when Trump chased them away

But it's when you sit there, and go 'Because I have examples of this, I'm going to flatly condemn those of you I don't know and I've never met'," and Maher's side is going "Well, yes, we are," then... Yeah, I am gonna side with Affleck

I'm sure both sides got stupid and lost their point a few times, but Affleck flat out says his point is that just because certain bad things exist doesn't mean you should condemn all of the people, and Maher basically goes "Sure I can." So on those basic points...

As someone who enjoys quite a few progressive YouTube shows (David Pakman Show, Secular Talk, The Humanist Report), I unsubbed from Dore a while ago. He's becoming a parody of himself and literally an enabler for right-wing conspiracy theorists. As far as the policies he advocates for -- Medicare for All, a living wage, ending the wars, publicly-funded college, etc. -- I fully agree with him.

Even though he's become a silly enabler for right-wing loonies, at least he isn't Dave Rubin.

The whole point is Bill Mahr is a comedian. What's even the point of hating him or Colbert or Trevor Noah and the like? There's plenty of cool dems out there, and most of the political comedian types are on that list. The people who should be (and are) hated are the leftists who are no longer in touch with what the democratic party is supposed to be about. They went from fighting for the people and "down with the man" to fighting for the government and only caring about if a D or an R follows someone's name real quick, and all it took was losing one election. This is why those "party X supports policy Q until they find out party Y wrote policy Q" videos are so effective. It exposes the double standard leftists have, and I'm a guy that really wants these people to be cool again.

If Ocasio-Cortez (who I love, can't wait for 2028) were above 35 and had the campaign slogan "Make Democrats Cool Again!", she would fucking wipe the floor with Trump in 2020. Like I'm talking 350+ electoral votes. She's genuinely lovable and stands for some really good stuff. Who else do they have that's actually cool and makes people want to go vote for them? Voting for someone is always more effective than voting against someone else. But they've spent all their time abandoning their values, shitting on the public, and outright lying to people 24/7 that the public is finally telling them to fuck off. #WalkAway is no joke. It's why I popped in here. You guys learned nothing from two years ago and decided to be even more of a bubble. Sure worked out for you great last time around, eh?
