Right now CM Punk just walked out on me in my TEW game, while he was company figurehead and world champ, right before he was supposed to finally lose the belt and put Kenny Omega over, 2 years into my game where that was essentially my biggest story arc the whole time, and I couldn't be more done with that game right now.

i stopped my longest playthrough of mordheim I had gotten, because the mission kept leading me on about how many objectives there were, so a super-powerful enemy emerged with all my dudes out of position and like 3 of my best guys ended up with crippling permanent injuries.

Also Xenoblade. I controlled Fiona in battle and had bought all the best stuff possible for her because she was my favorite to play as. Just kind of killed my motivation at a time when I had a lot of things to play.

Dangan Ronpa v3: end of chapter 1 because I was super looking forward to Kaede and couldn't stomach the idea of Saehara PoV

Valkyria Chronicles: the megatank level...I was doing everything I was "supposed" to but wasn't hitting the pillars square or something so it wasn't working and screw trying that one again

Persona 3: Was getting into endgame and my savefile got corrupted

Disgaea DS: Was like halfway through Etna Mode and my save file got deleted (for the longest time I thought my ex did that when we broke up but later I figured out it's some sorta issue with the game)

Patapon when I failed a mission by burning a hostage alive because my best loadout included fire weapons. Guessing that's not a unique story for folks who played it, but I had already started to sense the game had a really unsavory amount of trial and error in it and that was the point that I just completely lost interest.

skyrim, was doing the imperial quest line, got to the part where you need to attack the palace of kings and defeat ulfric

ulfric was still flagged as an essential NPC, making it impossible for me to defeat him

but I also couldn't leave the area after the battle started

essentially I was soft locked into a battlefield that I could never win

the game autosaves when you enter a new area, which means the game autosaved AFTER I entered this battlefield

my last manual save was quite a way's back so I just abandoned the game for quite some time after that. I think it took me a year or two before I felt like playing Skyrim again after that.

I took a very long break from Dark Souls 3 after losing over a million souls due to my own stupidity, had just beat a boss in the Ashes of Ariandel DLC and instead of cashing in the souls I thought "I wonder what is down this precarious tree branch." Proceeded to get my ass handed to me twice in a row by the same archer making me fall to my death twice.

Was about to get the hardest trophy in Kickbeat (rhythm game) when my save file corrupted and I would've had to go through a couple of different difficulties on all of the songs to get back to what I was actually trying to do

not sure if this is complete but some games that I stopped playing for reasons other than me not enjoying them.

dragon quest 2 - I missed a key item and going back to get it and then return to where I was felt like more trouble than it was worth.

battletoads - I got to the bike level.

earthworm jim - the submarine level. I've owned this game since I was a kid and I've never beaten despite trying once in awhile over the years.

GTA: vice city stories - the fucking god damn forklift mission.

psychonauts - the last level frustrated me like games really do and I didn't have it in me to keep trying.

ratchet deadlocked - save glitched really close to the end of the game.

red dead redemption: undead nightmare - glitch where the next mission just wasn't appearing.

the witcher - glitch where the next quest wasn't appearing.

demon's souls - I beat the tutorial and then died like five times on the first actual level.

nioh - got to the boss on the ship and lost interest after fighting him over and over for probably two hours. (I'm bad at video games)

infamous 2 - got to some stupid mission where you have to carry things around and it was awful

I, too, quit Skyrim because of shitty bugs. For me there's a glitch regarding one of the towers that leads out of the Blackreach. It reaches a softlock point where it keeps resetting the area, which saves over every autosave slot on your file. On PC you get a console command to reset it, which I did... until there was a point where it returned, as I fast travelled to one of the holds and it suddenly started warping me back to the tower lift. And this time the console command would do nothing.

And I only play unranked and Rumble, I can't imagine how bad people get on the competitive site.

I always just go through and mute everyone to start every match and have never enjoyed RL more, in terms of random matchmaking.

I pretty much only play competitive and rarely see someone be toxic. I mean you get the "nice save" when you make a fool of yourself and let an easy goal in but hardly ever more than that.

Anyway on topic FF8 is the only thing i can remember. Was in the mindset that i was not liking it and just wanted to get it over with and then got to the castle? that takes away your battle actions or something like that and just said it wasn't worth the hassle to continue.

My first time through Resident Evil Code: Veronica, I got completely stuck at the part where you have to run from the mutated Steve. I didn't have enough healing items to take the blows and make it to the gate. I tired multiple times over multiple days but it just wasn't happening. So I forgot about it and just moved on to the next game in the series; it was the only RE I didn't finish my first time playing through the series.
