I think there are enough extra lines for you to safely lose the 30 for being lower leveled/comparably leveled to the enemies, though Im not positive (also Im sure you got some of them).

Finally finished Geass.

Overall impressions are good. Lelouch and Suzaku came away having the best and most complete arcs, the rest I'm kinda mixed about.

They needed like twenty more episodes for those last arcs

Lelouch and Suzaku have the worst arcs, Suzaku especially

I don't know that more episodes would have helped when the foundation of the final arc was garbage

It would have helped the writing not be bad. Maybe portrayed their rationale and philosophy better, for them and the whole metaphysical arc before.

Yeah, he was kind of villainous. I actually thought it would lean harder on that angle. Also at one point he was like "the means do matter after all" and they never really followed through with that.

Well, I enjoyed repeatedly watching everything blow up in his face, but it's hard for me to enjoy a show where I can't root for the protagonist. I kept hoping he would eventually realize the error of his ways and turn it around, but alas, the ending actually attempted to justify his point of view. It wasn't a total waste though. Geass did have a few enjoyable characters, most of which were helped by dying before the final couple of arcs so they couldn't be corrupted by them.

I'm now at 50% of sidequests completed in Automata. Man, there's still that many left to go? I'm guessing many of them won't unlock until future playthroughs, too.

Well, I'm almost at the point in Automata where 2B and 9S get separated, so I should start hitting new ground in that department pretty soon. I suppose I should try to wrap up whatever sidequests I can since 9S will be out of commission for most of it, but most of the ones currently available that I'm aware of seem kinda boring. I guess I could try to find these others that are marked on the map.

That's handy, although I'm probably not going to bother doing them all anyway. I'm not interested in the ones where I'm just collecting a bunch of stuff (although I end up doing them as I go because getting the supplies is usually pretty easy) or winning all the races against that robot. If it has a cool story to it, then I'd probably do it. Otherwise, nah.

I tried to do it a couple of times during my first run and I didn't know how to make 2B run fast, so I never beat it. It wasn't until this second run that I learned that evading operates as a dash, so I won the first race. Then I tried the second race, realized I didn't want to put in the time to try to find the optimal path, and forgot about it.

looks like I'm stuck on a sidequest in Automata

It's the Family Squabble one where you have to escort the little robot kid back to Pascal's Village. Unfortunately, the big block that separates the village from the City Ruins is in the way, and it won't move any farther down even though there's clearly space for it to move a little more. Not really sure what to do here because I've looked it up and apparently if you fail, you can't redo it on the current playthrough, so I can't just kill the kid and restart it.

oh nevermind I just got far enough out of range and he went back to the original starting point, which is kinda annoying but better than nothing I guess

Did him resetting his location help you any or is it a matter of just letting you continue on without failing the quest?

I just had to do the quest all over again, which thankfully is pretty easy since the enemies are apparently capped at low levels. Apparently, if you move the block the wrong way, he'll get stuck trying to jump past it, and you can't get him back out to move it in the other direction.

one of the weird things about becoming an adult living on your own is that you actually start to care about things like water rings on your tables because you're the one who has to clean it up and prevent it from sticking and now you realize your parents were the ones who prevented that from ever happening

I think one of the first signs that you're getting old is when you start thinking about getting coasters

or maybe it's the first time you tell a kid to turn the water off or turn the lights off so they're not wasting water/electricity

Steins;Gate 0 episode 8 complete

holy crap that was amazing

They took that brief scene where Okabe ends up back in the alpha worldline with Kurisu and expanded it into an entire episode, and it was super great. They also gave an answer to one of the lingering questions from S;G0: What was in that D-Mail that they sent that sent Okabe back into the beta worldline? Adaptation is totally worth it just based on this episode alone.

In Nier Automata, 9S does lots and lots of hacking and discovers many secrets, including one that I kinda suspected all along: Humanity no longer exists and collapsed following the events of the first game (although apparently not for like another 800 years), but they do have genetic information from the Gestalts and structural information from the Replicants stored on the moon. In fact, humanity was already extinct when the aliens invaded, which essentially means the army of Emils fought them by themselves, I guess? Either way, humanity's continued existence was a myth that was spread to give the androids fighting the machines a boost in morale and a goal to fight for. Still, if both sides in this war are already dead, what exactly are the androids and machines fighting each other for?

9S also uncovers some interesting facts about the machines: The fact that, outside of combat, they only imitate human behavior, and the same human behavior over and over and over again, even if it fails. 9S says it seems like failure itself is the goal, which caught my attention. Then Adam starts taunting 9S about how they're both driven by hatred...until 2B kills him anyway. I also found a bunch of Project Gestalt documents as I hacked my way through the factory server, so that was neat.

So in Automata, everybody dies except for 9S and A2, who now has 2B's memories and her Pod, who won't stop bothering her every 30 seconds asking for her intentions. I guess we can swap back and forth between the two of them as we go. I played as A2 first, who is voiced by angry Makoto/Suzuha, while now looking kinda like Kaine, who was voiced by angry Rise/Chun-Li, so it all works out. I defeated some giant desert worm machine, which was pretty cool. I tried out A2's Berserker mode, but I don't think I like it since it drains her HP steadily, so I don't think it's worth the boost to your other stats. I never used Orgia Mode in P3 either, so I guess I'm just a low-risk guy.

I swapped over to 9S, who awakes to the sight of Devola and Popola (voiced by Marie's tsundere personality split into two people), who are not THAT Devola and Popola, as they tell us. They're the last of their kind thanks to them going berserk during Nier. 9S goes out to see THE TOWER, which looks like something out of the Copied City. My next objective is to go investigate the thing, but I'll save that for later.

I think A2's Berserker Mode is basically mandatory at some points. Makes some bosses much less tedious. And with all the healing you have in this game, the HP drain is basically a non-factor... Definitely way more useful than Orgia Mode.

Plus it's just super fun to use <3
