Nier Automata: Yeah, that was a Dark Colossus Destroys All remix. Specifically that version is now called: Dark Colossus (Kaiju).

I didn't have the DLC, but that makes those little access bunkers or whatever more hilarious. What happens instead: There's a robot at the entrance and when you talk to him he apologizes for it not being ready and says he'll blow himself up in apology so you can get an item. and does so.

Also, that feeling when you've made it a sub-quest to get almost* all the Persona 5 room decorations since you have an absurd amount of extra time with NG+ carryover and realize because you didn't meet with Tower on one possible occasion that it may have made the task impossible. ...It probably isn't, although the inability to be sure of availability means I'm not sure.

*All but one because there is one decoration that requires you to be in a romance with Temperance to get

In further Automata news, we find 9S in the Copied City, which feels like something out of Kingdom Hearts. Then we face down Adam, who has gotten very sophisticated with a buttoned shirt and glasses. He insists that the very essence of humanity is conflict, and that existence without the fear of death is boring, so he cuts himself off from the network to put his life on the line. Unfortunately for him, he ends up dead, which sets off a chain reaction of weird behavior from other machines because Adam controlled half of them (so they got cut off from the network altogether) and Eve controlled the other half, so they're all on a roaring rampage of revenge because he had an unhealthy obsession with his brother. I guess they're like the three baby Sephiroths in Advent Children where each one represents a different aspect of Sephiroth as a whole. Adam was the intelligent and philosophical side, while Eve is emotional and primal side or something.

Anyway, we investigate a robo-religious cult at the factory with Pascal, which had a pretty cool boss fight at the top. I half expected Beepy to show up with the way the area was set up, but alas. Afterward, the machines invade the Resistance Camp, and machines show up all over the map. Apparently, they try to attack Pascal's Village, but despite the fact that there are multiple entrances to it, they're all closed off, presumably to keep the invaders out. However, I went to the spot marked on the map and nothing happened, so I went to the other entrances to find they were blocked off. When I went back to the original spot, then the next storyline event triggered even though it didn't the first time, which was pretty weird.

2B decides the easiest way to fix the problem is to kill Eve, so that's where we're headed next, but that intel about him being able to regenerate endlessly tells me that this probably won't be so simple.

Eh, I think the funniest ones are the fish one and maybe the space station one. They just exist for the story to have something to do when you fail at something you shouldn't.

Well, this second playthrough of Automata has been interesting so far. Getting to play as 9S this time is neat, especially with all these hacking mini-games. I've even discovered hacking is super useful for beating those gold robots that keep popping up. Plus, I can finally open those treasure chests that were locked on my first playthrough. I've even found some Project Gestalt stuff! I thought it was a cool touch that they actually saved how I did my settings in the Bunker as 2B all the way back at the beginning.

The only major difference storywise so far is that I can actually see 9S's conversations with his Operator and Pod, and there was a weird video that played when I reached the city in the desert. I assume there will be more of those to come. I'm kind of curious to see what happens when we get to the parts of the game where 2B and 9S are separated, but that won't be for a little while. Also, as I was exploring, I found an underground section of the desert that I totally missed my first time through, so that was neat.

Yeah, I always though the 9S run was totally fine. You got enough extra story flavor to make it interesting, and it's a much shorter playthrough, so it doesn't really feel protracted.

I was expecting it to have more differences than it was, so I was disappointed with the extreme similarity. Made me glad I missed a bunch of sidequests the first run so I actually had something interesting to do.

I mean the original Nier NG+ runs aren't all that different either

I just don't think playing as him is that fun? The hacking is cool but more tedious to me at the cost of the sweet weapon switching.

There are a bunch of hacking chips I could have used but eh. Possessing robots is funny but the fun doesn't last long either.

Well, the gameplay still isn't the main draw here. I've learned that having Offensive Heal, Deadly Heal, Auto-Item, and Auto-Heal makes life so much easier.

Not really, IIRC. That one missable joke ending is basically the only missable. It's a bit involved though and I don't know how much - if anything- you want to know about the process.

Well, I finished that robo-inventor sidequest in Automata. It ended up running me like 175,000 total because once I gave him 75,000 he asked for a lump sum of 100,000. Thankfully, I've got lots of money so it didn't suck me dry, but still.

Yeah, that trophy sucks. I wasted a ton of time being overly safe with it and got it in palace 6 (and then didnt see it pop and continued to grind for another 6 hours before looking at my trophy list...)

Also, bad time for me to learn this with the bonus boss fight giving my entire party +5 levels! At the 6th Palace, might try to grind it a bit there since at least I like that place. Did some anger grinding in Mementos since I was there when I learned this and it drained my soul away.
