112. Earthbound

There are games that are technically worse because they are like unplayable or something but they aren't loved or anything by people so they don't offend me. Earthbound is a festering pile of dog shit that was talked up to me so much before I played it by this moron in high school. He would go on and on about starman.net or whatever the hell it was and how this game was perfect and hilarious and a bunch of other lies. This game is pure ass. It plays like an Nes game in 1995. That is fine now when you design a game to look old. It fills a need. This game was not designed to feel old. It just sucked so bad that it played like an old NES rpg but 8 years later. The music is awful. The graphics are lazy. The combat is Mystic Quest but for children. The story is awful and the characters are too. Magic cake my ass. Ness was awesome in Smash 64 to play as though. So at least there is that. Earthbound sucks. Earthbound is the worst game of all time and it's not even close. I'd rather play Mario Party tug of war for 20 hours than this garbage.

111. Ico

Speaking of heaping piles of dung. Ico is an escort quest. Escort quests suck at the best of times, but when the thing you are escorting is a blithering idiot the shit is ramped up to 11. The gameplay is so slow and dull. The music is boring. The game looks like a kid vomited into a castle greyskull toy. B8 lied to me when they said this was a must play. I hated Yorda or whatever its name is so much when the shadow molester things would show up it's like, yeah just take her. Please.

Take Final Fantasy 11. Remove every good part of it. Hello FF12. My god what a putrid low for a series that has hit such glorious highs. About the only thing good I can say here is Clash on the Big Bridge is in this game. Worst Final Fantasy.

Time limits in games is one of the worst mechanics ever. It's fine for like escape a burning building or a bomb. Not when the entire game has a time limit. Yes i know you can reset time or whatever. I don't care. The feeling of unease is still there. Fuck FF13-3 for this too.

Well, glad to see FFX-2 and FFXII here. I did like Majora's Mask, but I would also say it's the worst 3D Zelda by a reasonably sized margin. (The others I've played are all top tier games whereas Majora's Mask was "pretty good I guess".)

The one and only problem I have with Majora is that if you fail to complete a dungeon or quest on time (i.e. getting the Mirror Shield) or your power goes out on Day 3 (happened to me!), you have to redo the ENTIRE THING. That said, the game is very high quality otherwise - and most of the dungeons or quests are doable in that amount of time. Sure, you might have to redo parts to get to others, but it's usually not too bad since they planned it well.

Phantom Hourglass, though, which forces you back through the same fucking temple eight times with a time limit.... that's horrendous. Fail there (easier to do when you feel rushed) and you have to repeat it even more. Now THAT is a bad mechanic. I quit and gave up because I was so bored with that place. I wanted to allocate my time to other games better.

I don't think B8 told you Mass Effect the game was good. Mass Effect the series is good. Getting through the first game is a necessary evil (although it gets pretty good at the end).

104. Ratchet and Clank

Speaking of games B8, and in this case Wigs specifically suggested. Wigs why do you hate me? This game was so god damn awful. I can't even play the other ones because this one is so bad so I'd be lost on the story. Which seems deep and complex.
