if you're using a guide, it shouldn't be too bad to do one in a weeknight

if not, focus on trying to get to the miniboss one night, then finishing it the next, maybe?

This topic inspired me to listen to the OST. The "medal get" tune came up and I was reminded about the feelings I would have when completing a dungeon. The dungeons were long and arduous, and I felt such a feeling of accomplishment after defeating the boss. I don't really get that feeling anymore when playing games.

I like it but it was very hard to figure out, and people dont like that you have to constantly go into the menu to swap iron boots.

The Water Temple is incredible. One of the best dungeons in the franchise. The puzzles are all top notch and the exploration loop is perfect. The iron boots stuff is admittedly bad, but they fix that in the definitive version anyway.

The Sheik reveal blew my mind. No one really lists that as an all-time great gaming moment, which leads me to believe it didn't surprise a ton of people like it did me.

Glad you loved the water temple! People hate on it for no reason, once you know what you're doing it's a great place to be.

As for Shiek I think I was spoiled on the reveal, I can't really remember. It took me about 3 or so years to even beat the game myself because I was terrified of god damn everything when I was a kid.

I fucking read the guide before I even played the game. I got the guide as a Nintendo Power subscription bonus, and had to wait until Christmas for the actual game. I used to read guides cover to cover...I was a strange kid.

I didn't even realize the Sheik thing lasted long enough to be a "spoiler." I probably knew Sheik was the princess before i even played a 3D Zelda.

I'm not sure the Sheik thing "blew my mind", but as a kid, I found his story believable so I never questioned that he was actually a she (Zelda).

I don't think I ever knew that Sheik was supposed to appear to be male. I must have been spoiled somehow, but I remember never even doubting he was Zelda.

Keep in mind that was the first time Zelda took an active role at all in the games. Pretty surprising.

yeah, by far, i think. one is really short, but it's a two parter, in some ways.

I always consisted Fire to be the biggest (could be completely wrong) but Water is going to take the longest for your first play.

I agree with KP. Biggest 'oh shit' moment for me was definitely stepping back into Hyrule Town. Second biggest was probably the entirety of Bottom of the Well. Those two things really, really solidify how fucked the future is in Ocarina of Time. Such a fantastic game.

I would never go back to the Master Sword, except I think you need to for the final boss. Not positive.

I use the master sword because it's more beautiful. Not really a two-handed weapon kind of guy.

I assumed Sheik appeared as a male because the disguise fooled Link. It wasn't some hokey disguise that comically fools everyone... it's just a male character. That aspect was really impressive to me.

..though I don't know if that was intended or if she becomes a dude due to magic or whatever. maybe I'm impressed when I shouldn't be
