Don't think I've ever leaned fast enough to not allow a woman proper time to react.

I've been on the receiving end of a Al Franken though which was not enjoyable.

What?

Have you never misread a situation and kissed a girl who wasn't really into you? I know it's different than forcing someone like Franken did, but where do we draw the line?

I have thought about this from time to time. Not this molestation bullshit... but like. Making a move on a chick. And how girls were generally under bombardment.

Okay, now...

Rock, with that previous admission, your attitude makes a lot more sense. Al Franken's actions hit a lot closer to home for you and you don't like the notion of treating those actions lightly. That's fair.

However, whether you intend it or not, your words (and the words of other liberals with a similar "RESIGN!" mindset) ARE creating a false equivalency between Al Franken's actions and the actions of Roy Moore. Just look at Ulti's response "Rock is being consistent. He wants both out if the accusations against Moore are true." I.E. There's no real proof against Moore, but if he did it, then Franken should receive the same punishment, because they're the same. I fully expect Moore's plummeting poll numbers to shoot up again because of this sort of argument.

Like, I'm perfectly comfortable with a removed Franken going on to write books, make TV and movie appearances, do comedy acts, etc. There's perfectly good options for him if he was to resign from office.

I wouldn't want Moore within 100 yards of any nearby high schools or malls.

Because anyone that would hire him going forward for whatever role knows what he did and can make a judgement accordingly. He got his current job without disclosing this event, so it's more than fair to him to lose it. And now that the event is public along with an apology, I'm perfectly fine with people who would want to hire him to write books or make TV appearances going forward.

This is where I think some people are getting hung up

It sounds like a non-black/white issue that he presumably didn't know was a problem to disclose in the first place, so treating it as a "He didn't disclose it so shame on him" the same as Moore, who knowingly broke the law, is a bit silly.

Well that's the reasonable way to look at it.

Don't you think if this information had come to light earlier, he may have never been elected to begin with? Therefore you can't assume that he would have job even with this controversy, so it makes sense for him to resign and run in 2020 with all his sins laid bare.

I just think you're being too strict in your interpretation of what actions deserve what punishments, and it feels FAR over-the-top given the actuality of the situation that transpired. Your whole "he knew about this so he should've disclosed it during his campaign" spiel feels unbelievably rigid and unfair, particularly if it left no impact and he had no reason to think it was a big deal until Tweeden went public about how much it upset her.
