Let me ask, Rock. Do you believe Al Franken should be blackballed from ANY form of employment over this allegation? Because thats the argument youre making with your Walmart example.

No, what I'm saying is that he failed to disclosed important information to his current employer, and that they should have the right to terminate him. And any future employers have the right to weigh that transgression in a decision to hire him. Along with weighing the apology, etc.

It's like all those Neo-Nazis who found themselves fired from their jobs after appearing on TV in Charlottesville. New information was presented to a current employer that they failed to disclose, and it's well within their rights to terminate that employee.

Thats what an election is called though. If voters (the employers) want him removed from his job, then they have the ability to choose a new representative. Youre asking for him to voluntarily terminate his employment without necessarily giving his employers the chance to weigh in on whether or not they want him to do so.

So then don't call for Moore to drop out and let the people decide.

Like... that makes no sense why anyone would even feel the need to disclose that or even think about it.

Do you expect anyone on the face of the planet to literally disclose that.

I mean what phrasing would you even use?

I have no idea what the hell you're even talking about anymore.

He KNEW there was photographic evidence of it. If he didn't know, it means he does shit like that on a regular basis and didn't think twice about it.

On the flipside, Al Franken was fucking married at the time. Why would he feel the need to pull a woman's head in and put his tongue in her mouth for the sake of a sketch? And the fact that going forward she would always turn her head for the sake of the act and that he gave petty insults towards her the rest of the tour (and the fact that she wasn't willing to talk to him the rest of the tour) pretty much shows to him she was upset about it. He could have squashed the whole thing that day. Instead he took the stupidest, pettiest route by fake groping her while she slept.

You're asked to hold one of the highest offices in the land, where only 100 people out of 300 million get to hold it at any given time.

You should demand the highest level of scrutiny for everyone that wants to hold this job.

The other problem Im having with your reaction is that its detrimental to the fight for sexual harassment allegations to be taken seriously.

I mean, you want to compare Moore and Franken, so lets do it.

Franken is accused by a single woman of an unwanted kiss and miming groping afterwards. He has been scorned and shamed, rightfully so, has apologized, called for an investigation into his own actions, and had his apology accepted.

Moore is accused by NINE women of sexual misconduct and pedophilia. He has been scorned and shamed, rightfully so, but has otherwise denied all allegations and instead accused his accusers of lying for political gain.

By your method, youre creating a scenario where there is ZERO reason to EVER accept responsibility for your actions, when the response is the same whether you apologize or deny.

Which is a pretty important fucking distinction.

It's like the difference between a DUI and a guy killing someone with a DUI. Both should have their licenses taken away but one's probably gonna get some serious jail time out of it. No one goes "you're giving the same punishment to someone driving buzzed as someone committing vehicular manslaughter!"

I prefer my example of giving a first time pickpocket 20 years in prison and armed robbery a life sentence, since your way is equating losing your job to losing your license.

This one I actually do believe as potentially being a "recreation" of some type, since it's clear they laid all of his stuff out on the sidewalk, since you can see a phone, the wallet, and the bag of cocaine laying in a row before he does anything

At the least, the cocaine was already laying there next to the wallet.

It's strange. I lean toward thinking they didn't plant it since it was already laying next to the other stuff, but I'm confused why the cop also appeared to ask whose wallet it was if he was doing a recreation

Maybe I have kissed more women than most people in this topic, but sometimes you have to just go for it so you can both confirm if there is chemistry there. There may be a time or two when the girl says "wtf why did you do that?" It happens, especially with alcohol involved.

Sephys point is right. I will fully admit that Ive only ever made out with one girl in my life. Shes a friend of mine and it happened several times in college, even getting to second base (and before this comes across like stealth bragging, I fully admit that I am a nice guy or beta in our current relationship.). If she were to come to me at some point in the future and tell me the whole thing made her uncomfortable (but she went along with it out of fear of damaging the friendship or something, I dunno), then she is totally justified in feeling that way. It wouldnt make me some kind of monster. It just means I wouldve misread the situation, and I could at least TRY to apologize.
