We weren't close by any means but we were in quite a few classes together going all the way back to kindergarten, so it's weird to think of him as being gone.

It hasn't even been ten years since graduation and two people from my class have already died (one died just a few months after we left). Kinda sobering.

It's a strange feeling, yes. Someone I went to high school with was killed the year after we graduated. And another died of some disease a few years ago. Really jarring when it's your own age group.

Yeah, someone I was in marching band with in college passed away recently, it was the weirdest feeling.

That's why I choose not to blame myself for their actions. All I did was untie the knot.

Haven't heard of anybody I went to school with dying, but a guy I graduated high school with killed someone. I presume he didn't end up being convicted because he's doing fine now and his Wikipedia page doesn't even mention it, but I think that was more due to weird circumstances than him not being responsible.

A girl I went to high school with died of brain cancer like 2 years after we graduated.

It was sad and terrifying.

I've had quite a few people from high school die, one with a shotgun to the face. Well, actually I can only remember two right now but I feel like I'm forgetting at least one more person. Or I could be thinking about my cousin, I dunno.

Anyway, yeah, it feels weird. I wasn't close to them after graduation (I didn't keep in touch with anybody) but I have fond memories of them from high school.

I've only heard news about 1 person from my high school class who had died, but he wasn't someone I personally knew. I think the cause was drug overdose, but I didn't really look into it.

I have a friend who somewhat knew the guy and when I broke the news to him, he was pretty distraught.

However that was a really long time ago, maybe only like 1 or 2 years after I graduated.

No one from my class has passed away that I know of but I had two from a year above me die. One died doing something in the army, and the other got hit by a train D:

Definitely a weird feeling.

Oh that's who I'm forgetting. He wasn't from high school, that was back in 4th grade. It still stuck with me even long after high school though.

Man, I'm going on ten years since graduation and I feel like loads of people I went to school with have died. About three or four in my class, and probably eight or nine from other classes. One guy I knew hit a telephone pole that snapped the line and ignited his car; he stepped out and was electrocuted by the ground. Basically unwillingly chose between dying in the car fire or electrocution. That's shaken me up ever since I heard about it.

I went to a small private school. There were maybe 50 people in my grade and the grade behind me.

5 of them (10%) are dead. Although, tbh, 3 of them died at the same time in a car crash.

You did indeed stab me in the back. However, you are only level one, whilst I am level 50. That means I should remain uninjured.

Want to hear something weirder/sadder? A girl I taught while student teaching 7th grade ODed and died last week. She was either 20 or 21.

No one I knew in school has died, but my younger sister had a friend who killed someone in a DUI in Washington and got a huge prison sentence. Weird to think about that.

That's horrible. When I did my student teaching the teacher I was working with told me that the hardest experience any teacher will have is when a student dies.

It's been weird every time one of my classmates passed. There were a few. One died at 20 y/o of cancer. That guy wasn't the nicest to me, though, but it still sucked to hear that. There were a few I knew, too... always sad :/

Worst part of high school was the announcements that a student had passed away. There were four fatalities at my high school when I was there, two from overdoses and two in car crashes. It sucked every time, even though I didn't really know any of them.

I experienced this the first year in the classroom. Early in the year, too, and she was always truant, so I didn't really have a chance to get to know the girl. Rocked the other classmates pretty hard, though.

On the original topic, a lot of people in my graduating class have kicked it. Out of, I think, around 300 to start, there's at least 12. And a friend from band, one year before me, died before finishing college from lupus. When we went to the funeral, she looked nothing like we remembered her, aside from the fact that she was always so lively and upbeat and energetic.

This topic makes me feel like a weirdo because these things have no effect on me.

One of the guys from my graduating class laid down in front a train just a few years after graduating and it's just a thing that happened but I feel nothing about it.
