Yeah, Summon Night Swordcraft Story 1 & 2 are some of my favorite games ever made. Besides the DS Summon Night Twin Age, I've never played the other Summon Night games. I believe the main line Summon Night games are very different then Swordcraft Story though, right? They're like Shin Megami Tensei or something, right? With tactical turn based battles & a more VN approach.

BTW, have you guys seen the colored version of the One Piece manga? Turns out, starting in December 2012, Shueisha began to release digitally colored volumes of the One Piece manga. Currently volumes 1 through 79 have been released in this digitally colored format.

I read 3 chapters in color & its very well done, looks professionally done & everything. It feels kinda strange reading manga in color though, makes me feel like I'm reading a cross between a western comic & a manga. But I compared the same chapter in the original B&W with the colored version & they're identical. The phrasing, panel layout & drawings are all exactly the same, the color version just adds color to it, its completely faithful to the original.

Do you think they'll ever make color versions of other manga? What are your thoughts on adding color to B&W manga?

Correct. The Swordcraft Story games are basically a Tales of Summon Night spin-off sub-series, and Twin Age is a separate spin-off game, too. The main Summon Night series consists of tactics-based RPGs with dating sim elements. The back of the box for SN6 compares it to Sakura Wars, and that is not a bad comparison (... speaking of dead series that never got a fair shake in the U.S.).

Yeah when I realized there was a color version I had already passed the point it was up to. But it's cool. One Piece is just huge and can do that haha. It's a project that costs a good amount probably. No idea if other big mangas will do the same.

For s3? I've been saving s2.

So, I had planned on watching both seasons of Mitsudomoe, but I'm probably just gonna stop with s1. It's got some funny parts and characters, but I'm just not feeling it, in the mood for it.

Sakura Wars still appears in collaborations and crossovers (e.g. Project X Zone), but Sega seems to be permanently allergic to making another real game in the series, and Red Company is silent as to why.

Alright, I finally beat daimon awakened form in dark arisen. This was perhaps the only decent fight in the whole game and yet I won it for free when it got stuck on a piece of rubble and I just sat there shooting it for it's last 3 health bars. I kinda hate how in any remotely challenging fight your pawns are just a liability. 2 of em got vacuumed up into the rift on the attempt I won. A little silly to be still getting one shot in the mid 150s but o well.

After all that I finally can get the best weapons in the game...and have nothing at all to use them on because I just beat the only thing remotely hard in the entirely game. RIP. I still haven't actually killed death but he is so painfully boring that I just don't feel like it.

I never beat first form daimon lmao. I tried when I think I was super underlevelled and it was like a 4 hour ordeal that I eventually lost via attrition. I've since spammed that dragon to like level 150 or so, so daimon is probably a joke by now.

First form can be torpored and is therefore a joke. Torpor in general is game breakingly OP. Even without torpor though he is pretty easy to climb on and attack the head, just have to watch his moves so you don't get hit. Phase 2 reminds me of bowser from mario. You gotta run behind him and grab the tail except unlike mario you have to use that to jump up higher on him to get to his head so you can do real damage. Most of the time though I was using a gold rare dragons ire and terrible blend on his dragon face. Took like 400 shots or so but he was completely stationary for the last 100 ish. Once he gets to half health he starts spamming bolide and seism so I really have no idea how you could reasonably melee attack him at that point. His rift vacuum move is dangerous if you aren't expecting it but a complete joke and free damage if you are.

I did go ahead and purify my 4 lvl3 weapons and after some saving and reloading managed to get the daggers, shortbow, and shield for myself and the archstaff for my pawn so I pretty much did it all. I guess I'm still missing oblivion chest and legs but I have shadow with the best enchantments already so I have very little motivation. Even though I do have the best oblivion head piece I can't bring myself to use it because its hideous. RIP.

I'm kind of surprised I've played this as much as I have since for the most part I haven't really enjoyed my time with it. I think it's mostly cause I'm trying to kill time until nioh comes out on the 7th.

I wish there were more harem comedy anime that were good and that I haven't seen.

Houseki no Kuni, I haven't felt so keen about keeping up with a seasonal anime since Jojo was airing last year. I'm definitely going to read the manga after, though it's going to be a tad disappointing given how the anime crafted up a wonderful aesthetic with its color palette; slightly subdued warm colors for environment, and the characters designs with black/white "uniform" that contrasts with their vibrant hair/eyes.

I gushed about the show last week, so sorry I felt like doing it again. I just love how the science fantasy clicks with me. It's a travesty that it's only the 25th most poplar show on MAL this season. At least the MAL rating goes up every episode.

Figured it might be an anime 3x3 (which are supposed to be your favorite 9 anime or the ones that influenced you the most). It's got monogatari (even if its a picture of worst girl) and kara no kyoukai and jojo so it seems likely. I don't quite recognize the others just from this but some seem familiar.

I was reading Toriko & I'm quite liking it, its a great manga, but I can't help feeling that some if the stuff in it is supposed to be considered erotic. Like, is the way Toriko takes pleasure in he's meals turning some people on? I don't know, there's just something about the way the manga is drawn/depicted that makes me think its supposed to be an erotic metaphor or something...

I remember reading somewhere that there's software that allows you put the critical files of a huge PC game on an SSD, and the bulk of the remaining size onto a different HDD because they're cinematic files.

Can someone explain Negima's appeal and how all the titles/works in the series tie together? There's an original, a reboot I think?, a bunch of ova's, a movie, and a sequel for this anime season?

I'm interested because Shaft is an amazing studio, and I actually haven't seen much older stuff from them.

I've only got one hard drive (and it's only a terabyte) and no SSD. Anyway I will say I'm pleasantly surprised with the quality of the port so far. Running smoothly on my 5 year old PC. The connection to the online server keeps dropping randomly which is obnoxious but I haven't started doing co-op or anything so it hasn't effected me much.

The Negima anime loosely follows the beginning of the manga. But it strays at the end and doesn't have the same thing to do with the manga. I watched one movie for it I think, but I'm not sure if the movie I watched was actually and OVA. And it had nothing to do with the manga.

Basically I say just do this,

Read the Negima manga, then read/watch UQ Holder.

Looking it up quickly, it looks like the OVA is an arc from the manga but it's only 4 episodes long.

But honestly, I really do advocate to reading the manga cause it really is just infinitely better than the anime. And I like both the story AND the gratuitous fan service!

Ugh, now I want to also re-read Negima....

Yes, I'm saying you should just read the manga XD

I had to look up what version you were talking about, but while it looks like it has a good art style going, the trailer I watched looks as though it's completely a filler series. I could be wrong since I've never watched that specific season, but the enemy wasn't in the manga from what I recall.

BUT!!!! It does look as though that specific season tackles more on what Negima actually is in terms of magic battles. I might actually check it out at some point just cause I like the characters. I'll post about it if I ever do that.

Like you said, Negima Neo is not the original story line, it's an alternate reality. So while it may follow the story line in that manga, that's not the actual story. And the characters in Negima Neo aren't the same, personality wise, as they are in the original story.

I'm sure it's fine to watch, but I still say to just read the manga.

Gonna finish up Kamichuu today. Read a chapter in book 10 of the Malazan series. Have actually been having a bit of a reading itch, just been getting distracted from reading it. Think I'm through the first 4 chapters now. Can finally find something new to read after I finish it up and collect more of the Malazan side books for when I feel like reading some more from that setting. Not sure what I'm going to go for after I finish the Malazan main series, but something shorter and probably not fantasy though.

I mean, yeah, sure it's great to finally have some closure on what happened in Negima.

But I'm still salty about the fact that it wasn't there in the first place. Like, seriously, one of the most disappointing endings I've ever read.

Also, there's the fact that it doesn't really matter since it technically happened in an alternate timeline from the one in UQ holder. And I remember reading something that the author considers the UQ holder timeline, the canon timeline, so yeah... it's basically one giant fanservice/fanfiction thing.
