Ugh, this filler arc has been especially horrendous. It's essentially just rehashing the main story with slight differences, but the main characters make all the same mistakes. I can't even imagine wtf the point of it is. I think this garbage ends in a few eps though and I have different filler after that.

I think Houseki no kuni is now my definitively favorite show this season. 4 episodes so far, and each one is solid or better than the previous one because they're paced well and lead into each other. What I like most out of this show is its aesthetic and the plot/world-building, being a sci-fi show that has a touch of wonderment that you expect out of a fantasy show. If I must describe some icing, then I'll say the characters are charming and lively with good voice acting, and the orchestral/string-heavy soundtrack is neat.

It is wholly CGI animated and it might feel jarring at first, but you're likely to warm up to it if you keep yourself open to it.

Hell yeah. I love that show. It's the reason I hate kadokawa (the light novel publisher) that supposedly stopped a third season from happening because the anime was too successful and could possibly draw fans away from the LNs or something stupid like that.

I just finished reading chapter 78 & 79 of One Piece & damn... this manga is so deep. TBH I got quite misty eyed reading it, just these 2 chapters alone contained so much hidden meanings & profound realities. Nami's backstory is really moving.

If anyone likes harems done right, you should check out Umi no Misaki (manga). One of the girls does have more of a "main girl" feel, but other than that all of the Girls get an equal amount of time with the MC, they all get a lot of real character development and really care about each other, and the protagonist is very likable and understanding of the situation.

I worked Comic Con over the weekend. It was pretty expensive with the hotel and all the other expenses, so I didn't buy much. But it did reaffirm that I want to do that kind of thing as a career. It felt great seeing all the smiling faces on both kids and adults alike being surrounded by characters and things they love, and knowing I played even a small part in that.

Unfortunately it was pretty hectic during the whole event so I didn't have a chance to ask how I would go about breaking into that scene. And when the show was over the guys in charge left surprisingly quickly, so I couldn't even ask during teardown.

After catching up in Made in Abyss manga to where the anime is and watching reviews and stuff I once again will recommend watching that to anyone that hasn't yet. It's a great show.

Also a sneaky suspicion that I REALLY hope is false (big spoilers) is that Nanachi is duping them and is going to betray them to bondrewd. It wouldn't make any sense because of her backstory of escaping from him but idk. That would make me reaaally sad. Don't say anything!

I'm glad it's getting the acclaim it deserves. Truly an outstanding anime in virtually every category from the technical aspects being out of this world and the story aspects being handled fantastically to all the characters being perfect examples of how to do that type of character right. I still can't wait to see whats at the bottom of the abyss or how deep it really is.

Btw this is one if the few times I'll agree that the Anime is the better version. I think the manga is very charming but the anime manages to capture that almost entirely (almost) with the addition of a stunning ost and and extremely well fleshed out world thanks to the background director (he worked on many Ghibli film backgrounds)

Obviously the anime wouldn't exist without the manga and props go to the mangaka for the alluring story.

Yay for monster girls.

At the second to last filler block for Shipuuden. My goal for today, is to hit ep 479, since I think that's the point where the manga ended. It's also right before the last filler block, which is 4 eps, so depending on how fast I get there, I may or may not go through it. Tomorrow I'm taking a break from anime though, as I've already planned to watch the second season of Stranger Things on Halloween and maybe game 6 of the World Series.

Made in Abyss manga spoilers

Bondrewd is seriously unnerving. It pissed me off when Nanachi agreed to work for him and tried to bargain for their lives. The praying hands are clones or something!? What! He ripped his head off and stuck it on and became the original... At least that's what it looks like. Also the pacing of this show is lightning fast. One nap and everything goes down. And then they killed a few of the praying hands with those things under the ground. Shooting Bondrewd and then dunking him into the 6th layer and pulling him up. BRUTAL

And it was all a part of his plan or something because it helped complete something in the other girl who I imagine is about to die

Forgive me if I missed it but how did you end up getting to work for Comic-Con?

I wasn't actually working for them; I usually volunteer whenever it comes around. At first I only did it to save money on admission, but it started growing on me more and more.

I also want to volunteer for Tokyo in Tulsa, the local anime convention, but it's complicated. My niece goes to that con too, so I need to be available to look after her.

Sometimes I have a hard time following what's going on and it feels like pages are missing but I guess you are supposed to fill in the blanks.

I stopped reading mid chapter. Gonna go to sleep instead. Nanachi is explaining the cartridges... God damn.

What I don't like is there is a ton going on and then they go into the processing room and Nanachi just nonchalantly (as far as I can tell from the manga, she probably just got triggered by the sight) starts telling Riko this stuff and how she helped because she was terrified of Bondrewd.

So I've been playing a bit more of dragons dogma: dark arisen and I just don't really understand what people see in this. I've tried so hard to like it and this is my 3rd attempt at dragons dogma but it's just so meh. You have to go so far out of your way to not cheese things if you want to have any semblance of challenge, the enemy defense being a flat reduction is the worst (yay doing 1 damage a hit to enemies with 85,000 hp), and even then the enemies are so shallow and one dimensional.

The level up stats based on class is probably my most hated aspect. I want to level other vocations other than assassin but I feel like I can't because if I end up leveling up then I have poor stats for those levels and it's hard enough to actually do more than 1 damage a hit anyway. If I just grind to 200 then everything will just fall over even more than it already is.

The equipment system, the vocation system, the limited skill slots, the overall movement abilities, augments. All that stuff is fine. The bland world, easy and simple combat, and small things that create large annoyances really make this game just not feel like its very good.

I've got like 2 more areas in bbi before I make it to the boss but I'm just grinding now so I can actually do any damage myself instead of having to rely on sorc pawns to deal damage. In the main game I'm doing the 4 quests for ser whoever after having joined the wyrm hunt and I feel like there is no way I'm going to have the motivation to go through the rest of the main game after finishing bbi.

Victory. Daimon is defeated. Kind of obnoxious that I'd have to go through the whole thing again just to fight his second form. The boss fight itself had some cool music even if he was a piece of cake. Not sure I have the will to keep playing. Maybe I'll watch anime, not sure which I should watch though.

Woah how did I miss Konohana Kitan in the season line up. Yuri with some kind of cute animal ears (fox in this case), hell yeah! Not sure how much yuri will actually be in the show but apparently the manga at least has more than undertones.

I liked the wedding episodes, but I didn't like the animation. I liked that they were basically just goofy.

And also, it's funny that the first of that age group to get married was Naruto and Hinata!

The Skip Beat dub is shipping out now, so I'll get my copy within a few days. That makes two successful Kickstarters I've backed (this and Shovel Knight) versus one that screwed up (Mighty no. 9).

I also looked at Rightstuf's website and saw that the To Love-ru manga is finally, finally coming to US. Friggin' ten years later.

Summon Night 6 acquired for my Vita. I cannot help but ask myself why Victor Ireland pulled out all the stops for a game that is basically one big homage to all the previous games in the main series, only one of which has been localized (... for PSP long after the PSP took a bow in the U.S.). In his notes at the back of the (physical) manual, he boasts about how it is the biggest project he has done to date, but there is no disguising that the Vita is approaching the end of its life. If he sank a ton of money into this, then it might well be a waste, since only a handful of us were even looking for it in the first place.

Only 3 chapters left until the end.

Honestly, I still don't can't accept the fact that it's ending.

This series has given me a lot of joy and emotions over the past two years since I've started reading it.

Truly one of the greatest manga I've ever read.

I finished up hero aca (I watched the tournament arc after it finished and had to wait for the rest of the season to air before finishing up). I liked the stain arc decently and wish the show was like that more often.
