I've got like 400 episodes of shows I've downloaded; I'm moving to some place controlled by Comcast and I'm loading up beforehand. I'm going to miss Fios' steady 50 up/down that doesn't choke when everyone is downloading porn.

Eh, I have 75 down/15 up from comcast and I actually get like 92 down whenever I test it. Have had some outages lately which has been annoying though. Wish google fiber was here, that'd be nice.

Memory cards are weird. I've still got my original one for my PS1, and, somehow, it still works just fine. Even still has my old Grandia save from '02 on there, still. (Nothing from '99 is on there, though; back in the day, I usually had to delete the old saves to make room for the new ones.) ... Granted, if it ever cuts out on me, I've got a stack of third-party back-ups. Remember when memory cards were cheap? Dammit.

Actually, to this day I've only bought three systems brand new; my DSi, original 3DS and New 3DS.

Oddly enough, the only consoles that have crapped out on me over the years have been consoles I've bought new (e.g. my first PS2, my first 360). My Vita's a refurb.

It's probably pretty divisive. Most of the characters are awful humans beings, and the show uses that, but I could see some people just hating them too much to enjoy it. It's sort of like always sunny in philadelphia in that way. Main girl isn't JUST the dumbest person to exist, shes also completely self centered and often times cruel. Only blonde girl is normal but that's kind of just there to act as a comparison.

I've been reading through Made in Abyss manga and the anime follows it almost to a t. In this case I feel the anime is actually superior because the manga doesn't go in depth with the backgrounds and the world in the anime is fleshed out very nicely. Also music.

Uh oh something bothering me while reading through made in abyss (spoilers) at the point where Nanachi is saving Riko and she recognized Lyzas white whistle. Though I don't know if she recognized Lyzas in particular or if she just recognized it was a white whistle. And then it gives the flashback to when she was with bondrewd and he mentions a new cartridge and a successful experiment. And unfortunately from YouTube soundtrack video comments I know that anything having to do with the word cartridge is gonna be fucked up

Hey! Have you been keeping up on Promised Neverland?

This arc has been slow comparatively. I like how it's building but the feel just isn't as suspenseful as the breakout. I got high hopes for it though.
They are about to go into that forest now

Yup. I even go to the main translator's site now just to see it as soon as it's live. (which just means that I just go to r/manga and check from time to time)

And yeah, I feel like the high stakes tension has plateaued a bit since their escape, but that's to be expected since this arc is more about exploration and world building. Although to be fair (chap. 61 spoilers) the tension has ramped back up again since the dude is trying to find a way to kill them in the forest. But I feel like this is just a sort of disguised "training arc" and the dude is gonna have a sort of redemption moment where he reconsiders his opinions on the kids, or outright saves them in the end.

It's because too much anime. You see plenty of courage and endurance against great adversity in anime, so when the dude who just wants to live his selfish life, has utter disdain of naivety, and wants to crush it, he pulled my heart strings.

Decided to get back into the big 5 Shonen, Dragon Ball, Fairy Tail, One Piece, Bleach & Naruto. Its absolutely ridiculous that I still haven't read them through to the end. Also reading Bobobobobobobo but I might swap that out for JoJo's bizarre adventure, I read the first 2 volumes of JoJo & its pretty good.

BTW, does one pronounce the "X" in Hunter X Hunter? I've never really got into the series but I saw a tweet the other day that implied that the X is silent. But Hunter Hunter just sounds stupid, why wouldn't you pronounce the X? Is it just Hunter then? 0_o

The "X" is indeed supposed to be silent and it's pronounced hunter hunter which is fucking stupid IMO but whatever. However most of the time you see a standalone X in an anime title they actually pronounce that as "cross" so if hunter x hunter wasn't weird it'd probably be hunter cross hunter which IMO is even more stupid. Coulda just called the whole thing hunters.

I liked Momo even more towards the end simply due to her coming to terms with her true feelings. I'm still curious how the author is going to complete the series, harem, forget about everyone else and go with Haruna <_< (which I believe he'll regret since he'll miss everyone), or he's abandonded by all of the girls for his indecisive behaviour then killed by Yami AKA school days route :P.

You should totes magotes watch the 2011 one. And if you are not mentally prepared to watch 148 episodes, then only watch 21, thats how long the first arc is and if you dont like that, you wont enjoy the entire show.

See, this is why I consider Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san as the better "harem" manga than TLR.

In TLR, the harem is pretty much forced on Rito, and it's pretty obvious that that's how its gonna end despite the main protagonist's own wishes. (And it's also the only way the author can write Lala back into the main romance after systematically making every effort to forget about her entire character growth in the original series, in Darkness). Also, some girls clearly have a higher standing in regards to their place in the "possible end partner for Rito" list than others. Can you honestly say that you'd be satisfied with an ending that had Rito end up with that one blonde friend or that gender bender alien, over Lala, Momo or Haruna?

In Yuuna-san, there's no big sign or flag that says "We're gonna have a harem ending." Which makes it better in a sense, because now the mangaka has to write the MC AND the girls in a way to make them deserve a harem ending.

And he has done just that. Fuyuzora is honestly the best example of what a harem MC should be. Kind and respectable, slightly dense (show me a rom/com MC who isn't) but not so oblivious that he can't recognize that all the girls have honest feelings for him; plus, he has a definite goal that he is working towards that solidifies his character and defines his choices and actions. (I seriously cannot for the life of me remember what Rito's end goal was, other than to get with Haruna) In addition to that, he properly pays attention to every one of the girls (as evidenced by the fact that he game every one of them personalized White Day gifts), and does his best to communicate and maintain actual relationships with them, rather than getting forced into them, or quite literally stumble into them like Rito.

Which brings me to what I enjoy most in Yuuna-san. Every girl has an equal chance of a happy end with the MC.

The mangaka has done a superb job of showing each girl's unique character and, more importantly, growth in both their personal struggles and in their relationship with the MC. It's not often that you can say in a manga that, were it to end in the next chapter with ____ (girl), the majority of the fans would be okay with it. Because, despite the many "___ is best gril" arguments you can make in this manga, no one can say that one girls deserves it more than the other.

And paradoxically, that's what makes it truly deserving of a harem end. Because, even if your favorite girl wins in the end, you have grown attached to the others and you would want to see them be happy too. This is the main similarity between TLR and Yuuna-san. There really is no other way for everyone to be happy in the end other than a harem ending, but the main difference is, Yuuna-san deserves it.

Back to watching Shipuuden filler for now. Might even have some motivation to finally finish off Blue Dragon some time after I finish Shipuuden, though not right away.

60 eps of Shipuuden to go. Think I still have 17 straight of filler though. :( Getting close to finally finishing it off though.

Speaking of Hunter x Hunter, I recommend watching it as well and if you do, don't read the manga. It's not bad or anything, it's just partway into an arc and on hiatus again. To give a bit of an example, it released in 1998 and its latest chapter is 370, meanwhile, One Piece released the year before and its latest chapter is 883. Both are weekly series, so that should give a good idea of just how often it's on hiatus.

Let me just clarify for the wall of text I posted last time.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy both To-Love-Ru and Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san. Both mangas have superb character designs and likable characters, and each one has their own good points over the other.

I might just be burnt out on Rito's shenanigans over the years so Yuuna-san feels like a breath of fresh air. If Yuuna-san was published first, my opinions might be vastly different than what they are now.

I can understand this.

I was a bit disappointed in the series cause it looked like Rito was starting to warm up to the idea of making the harem plan happen. But they never seemed to work towards that happening and just constantly put him in pervy scenarios, which let's face it, that's why I read it XD. But then at the end of Darkness, when he and Haruna finally confess to each other, (which took waaaaay too long to happen) it's like it reinforced his silly earth views.

One of the things I liked most about DxD was that the MC actually wanted a harem.
