Welcome one and all to our usual topic about all things anime, manga, VN and game related, as always all are welcome here

So I finally finished all of Hellsing ultimate and it was pretty damn good, more blood than a butchers shop with a surprisingly solid story and great animation, a very good 9/10 for me

And now I've started Kokoro connect, I just finished episode 4 and it's pretty decent so far, episode 4 also made me laugh quite a bit involving the "secret reveal" scene, good stuff

Still reading of course and just finished the third book of the 8th book in the series. Watched the first ep of Sin Nanatsu no Taizai. Gonna take a short respite from reading and watch a few more eps.

Each of the books are broken up into 4 books each. It's weird, but it's how they're done. Sometimes it makes more sense when one book is dedicated to something that's away from all else going on in the story.

School Rumble is great (until it's "third season" copout stuff). But it's all about the journey and the characters, so Season 1 and Season 2 are still fantastic.

No idea what book series dragon is talking about. Can't find context, is it from the last topic?

Kokoro Connect is OK. I hated all the characters, and felt the drama was poorly done and felt forced. I legit only like it cause gender bender stuff is my jam (thatsmyfetish.gif).

Still reading through Vol.0 of Ubel Blatt about halfway through, been reading it off and on. Thinking about tackling the rest of my Scott Pilgrim box set. Only read the first book and got distracted.

In the anime side of things. I watched the first season of Shokugeki No Soma again just for kicks and watched an OVA called Mega Man: Upon a Star also just for kicks, have also started watching Space Patrol Luluco.

I was looking up the differences between the School Rumble manga and anime, and it seems the actual endings were basically the same; I don't know why I thought they were different. One of my favorite parts is when Harima was rushing Tenma to the airport, and afterward.

I feel pretty bad for Harima; he had to fall in love with the one person on the planet even stupider than he is.

Good to hear. Looked interesting and was hoping it was done well.I see the ratings in general for a lot of things in this season have gone up since the first 2 eps. Made in abyss still sitting at the top as the only show that isn't about ballroom dancing that is above an 8. Looking to be a decent season overall.

Finished up book 8 of the Malazan series, with two more to go.

Getting closer to having attention for shows/games. Not sure what show I'm going for after, but think I'll be starting Hyperdevotion Noire shortly after finishing the last book.

i didn't even mean to fight the guy, or even know HOW to get in a fight with him. i assumed it worked like all the others in that he starts at a certain floor and works his way up as you work your way down. not if you just idle in mementos for a bit.

i had to go to the bathroom, and then tend to my kid and when i came back i was in the damn fight!

Don't have any of the Dresden novels yet. Probably not gonna make it out to the bookstore any time soon either. Though, I'll try to remember to make a list for the next time I go. I want the companion series to the Malazan series next though. Have the first of them, but still missing 5.

The Smartphone anime is in a weird zone. Not great, but not bad. No really memorable characters, but no super annoying ones, either.

You must have encountered him during Flu Season. That gives him a chance of starting the fight in Despair condition. If he does, all you have to do is guard, and he dies in three turns. This is a major exploit that you can use to power level your team, regardless of difficulty. Surprising that it has not been patched, honestly.

If you fight him outside of Flu Season, he has unlimited SP and access to every attack in the game (IIRC). If you are below Level 70, there is a good chance that you are toast.

Also: You have no control over that particular calling card. Use your free time like normal. The day it gets sent is not up to you, despite what the game says. ... When you do send it, be certain you have free time in real life, since that sets off a long string of story-related events, including the one about which I warned you before.

I watched Kobayashi-san chi no maid Dragon (kobayashi's dragon maid for you non-japanese reading folks).

it was fun, most of the time light-hearted and funny.
2 things I will always love in this anime (short btw):
1. Kanna is the cutest thing in the world and her eating stuff is funny AF
2. the fighting scene are hilarious and super well done and the effects are rad

I would highly recommend watching hellsing abridged or DBZ abridged, these are super funny!

I agree that Bobobo-bo bo-bobo is really funny, I used to read it when it was in Shonen Jump. Although the humor like you said- comes from the absurdity of it, so not everyone would enjoy that. It remains one of the few manga though that made me consistently laugh.

Anytime I see the name Kobayashi, I think of Puni Puni Poemi, and how the main character always referred to herself in third person - but by the name of her voice actor.

Kobayashi is pretty good. I watched a couple episodes on Twitch.

In other news the manga for Saga of Tanya the Evil is great. It's short though, doesn't even cover up till the end of the anime yet unless I just can't find the rest. They did a good job on the anime (besides botching the character design of the 2nd mc girl) but they missed a lot of the dynamics of Tanya. I bet the Light Novel is cool. It is not as in depth but the war tactics stuff reminded me of Kingdom.

If you are into audiobooks, the audiobook is excellent and read by some dude from buffy the vampire slayer, which is appropriate.

Season 1 of kingdom was pretty meh animation wise but the story and presentation was still solid. Season 2's animation was much more normal although still a little lazy. Still totally worth watching.

Do not implicate any of the other Phantom Thieves, up to and including Akechi. Any time Sae asks you about them, you say they had nothing to do with it. Then, tell her to show the traitor your phone. It will look like you got the bad ending again, but there will be a lot more to it at the end, and you will be okay.

I had a B1G1 coupon for a local store, so I picked up Lost Odyssey (on Abibde's recommendation) and Cromartie High School. I'd been wanting to get Cromartie for a long time, ever since I saw it on G4.

Lost odyssey is pretty solid. Never actually finished it though despite 2 attempts where I made it to just before the end. Kinda the same deal as FF12 where I just got overwhelmed and then bored wrapping up side content. The thousand years of dreams was really cool and some of those stories stuck with me. I like the one where they all wander up the wind stream thingy.

The way they handle exp is terrible though and should be banned from future RPGs.
