Hey hey hey, welcome one and all to our first General Drawing Topic! As we know, some B8ers love to draw, so why not make a central hub so we can share our drawings? Maybe we can inspire each other to draw more. But most importantly, enjoy the process itself~

sooooooooo I got an assignment in my fav class [ever], to draw a character for my university... and the best one in class actually gets to be used in merch like a clear file

I'm not much of an artist like I know a lot of b8ers are but I wanna do my best on this so I'mma try drawing a bunch these two weeks.... right now just this, trying to get out of my usual style which is usually so same-y

I drew a thing yesterday. I'll draw a couple of things today, including a plush to keep with the trend. :)

I don't feel like sharing anything yet since art is so interwoven with anxiety for me. But the most important thing is that I actually do it. I'm treating it as if I'm starting from nothing since, being totally honest, I hardly put any concerted effort into art before and only managed to discourage myself in the past.

I have an anatomy book and plenty of references that I intend to put to good use.

I don't actually know. Like, your dudes look more chibi than plush (or maybe like minifigs?) but I sat there thinking "how could these look more plush" and I'm not sure.

Take my advice with a grain of salt because I'm no artist (at all), but I think you should include more stitching as well as eliminate the mouths from yours, Johnbobb.

Visible stitching or obvious fabric patterns will shoehorn the idea that something is plush. For something more subtle, bulkier limbs that flare out to flattened stumps also work. In "muscular" plush characters, you could always give a fuller form that makes the muscle definition look printed on.

EDIT: Oh yeah, missing mouths always works well too.
