![]() 95. Ace Attorney Seen: All of it so far Favorite character: Acro People seemed to have a mixed reception to the show, but really, if you like the games you're probably gonna like the anime. It's basically exactly the game, but with voice acting and animation. And the story of the games are pretty awesome, so that just makes for a good show. But for what it's worth, there is more to it than that. The show adds some much welcome backstory between Phoenix and Miles, and even more impressively, it manages to make Ace Attorney 2-3 not only bearable, but one of the more compelling plotlines of the show. That's an achievement in and of itself. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

![]() 94. Once Upon a Time Seen: Seasons 1-3, ~half of 4, some of the shitty spinoff Once Upon a Time in Wonderland Favorite character: Rumplestiltskin So I stopped watching this after a while. I've been meaning to go back and catch up for a long time, but after a while it just started to circle into a very predictable pattern. Somewhere around when they introduced the Frozen characters. However, in it's early seasons (the first 2 in particular) it was a hell of a show. It did for fairy tales what a certain other show did for classic literature. The performances here are mixed, and I think it spends too much time on the blander characters, but I'm really just poking holes in what was a great show. The side characters were excellent (particularly Dr. Whale aka Frankenstein and Ruby aka Big Bad Wolf) and one of the biggest downsides of the later seasons was the diminished role of them. Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin/Beast/Crocodile/whateverthefuckelse was honestly one of the most compelling antagonists/anti-heroes I've seen on TV, and single-handedly can make the show worth watching. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... From what I've seen of Fables from Wolf Among Us, the premise is very similar but the plots and execution are very different Also, Once Upon A Time is more based on Disney's interpretations of fairy tales as opposed to Fables, which from what I've seen is closer to the originals. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... ![]() 93. Robot Chicken Seen: First few seasons; jumbled episodes from there Man this is THE show that got me into Adult Swim as a teenager. Me and my best friend would watch it all the time. He bought some of the seasons, and we would spend the entire day watching it. Some of the sketches are hit-or-miss, but come on, most of them cap off at like 2 minutes max, so even the crappy sketches don't overstay their welcome. It's goofy and fun and really pushes the limit as to what it can get away with. I've seen it far more than any other film, ranging somewhere around 25 times. I know almost the whole film by heart, and still laugh out loud every time I watch it. Honestly, this show gets this spot solely by giving me more of Kuzco, Kronk and Yzma. It wasn't as good as the movie but it was the best of Disney's film-to-show adaptations. Kuzco's doodles was a great touch, and much of the humor from the film was retained, so I really had no complaints. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... ![]() 91. Samurai Jack Seen: First 2.5ish seasons Man, this show was ahead of it's time. And I KNOW, I NEED to catch up on it. I only ever watched the show in scattered episodes as a kid, and lately I've been trying to rewatch through it. And now that I'm doing so, I'm really appreciating it. Going through entire long sequences with just orchestral score and no dialogue is a bold move for a 90s Cartoon Network show, or any show like this, period. The action scenes are incredible, the dialogue (when it's there) is ususally solid (aside from some goofy minor characters) but overall I can only see this show increasing for me the more I watch. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... ![]() ![]() 90. The Daily Show 89. The Colbert Report Seen: Just a bunch of both I could never really watch one of these without the other. Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart play off each other so excellently, and any time the two would interact, it was gold. The shows themselves were fairly similar, though each had their own twists on things. Stewart leaned a little more toward the serious side than Colbert, who typically doubled down on the comedy. I have to respect Stewart, who honestly did a better job as a news reporter than many actual news reporters. Still, I have to give the slight edge to Colbert. His persona always had me laughing my ass off. It's kind of a shame to see both move on, with Stewart having left Daily Show and both Stephen Colbert and John Oliver moving onto to their own shows, but fortunately, both of them seem to be doing well for themselves. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... ![]() 88. The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy Seen: The first few seasons Favorite character: Jeff the Spider I initially had this one higher, and then dropped it when I realized I wasn't quite sure why. Hell, even now it seems too high. That's not to say it's bad by any means though; on the contrary, it can be hilarious, and really worked with it's intended audience. Fred Fredburger is perhaps the most annoying character ever crafted, and yet as a kid, he was easily my favorite. Even now, he makes me laugh, for some reason. Same with Billy, who is almost equally annoying. As an adult, I have much more appreciation for Grim though, and any show that can make the Grim Reaper the most relateable character is pretty damn special. ![]() --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... ![]() 87. The Fairly OddParents Seen: Approx. first 6 seasons Favorite character: Mark Chang No Nickelodeon show quite hit Spongebob's level of reconizability and durability over time, but that didn't stop Fairly Odd Parents for making a run for it. The premise immediately opens itself up to endless possibilities (probably why it lasted so much longer than Invader Zim, which premiered at the same time and got a cult following, but didn't have the same staying power). As such, they explore every possiblity under the sun, resulting in some honestly excellent episodes, with some of my favorites involving Timmy jumping through spot-on parodies of classic shows and Crocker turning the world into a dystopian tyrrany. It has TONS of unique plotlines, funny characters and self-references, which makes it one of Nick's better shows. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... ![]() 86. Penny Dreadful Seen: Just over the 1st season Favorite character: Victor Frankenstein Did you get the hint? FAIRY and GRIM because it referred to the two previous shows and also accurately described this one? Well I thought it was clever. I was very pleasantly surprised by Penny Dreadful. It did something very similar to Once Upon a Time, but took on a much darker tone, and focused on characters that, frankly, I cared more about, like Victor Frankenstein and Dorian Gray (the anti-heroes of two of my all-time favorite novels). The performances here are all incredible and the tone is equally so. Still, I can't put it higher as I stopped watching shortly after finishing the first season, though I can't quite say why. I do fully intend on finishing it, but something has stopped me from going back to it, and I can't explain. --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ... Hemlock Grove Seen: First 2.5ish seasons Favorite character: Shelley Godfrey This is one of Netflix's earlier exclusive shows, and it's one of the shows that convinced me just how good Netflix could be as a content developer instead of just as a streaming service. Now I'm admittedly not a big fan of Famke Janssen (in part because watching her gives me The Last Stand flashbacks) but Bill Skarsgård, Landon Liboiron, Kaniehtiio Horn, and Nicole Boivin all gave FANTASTIC performances, especially in the first season. I was instantly hooked, and the show did not hesitate to let loose some very real scares, from the violent slaughters of teen girls to the most realistic body horror werewolf transformation I've seen. The show kind of gets hard to follow later on (which is ultimately why I never finished it) but it starts so strong that it's easy to recommend. ![]() --- Khal Kirby, warlord of the Super Star Khalasar PSN/Steam: CheddarBBQ http://i.imgur.com/sRNNOSP.png ...
