Not quite, but there's something about the two tracks... the choice of instruments or something? I don't know, but everytime I start this Wily Stage theme, I immediately have Lufia 1 flashbacks.

Also, this is Junk Man's theme again. Wily 3, Wily 4, and Junk Man are all remixes of the same song for some reason.

I remember turn-based RPG songs more clearly than other games. The more action packed the game is, the less I'm focusing on music; very slow turn-based games like Lufia are more likely to leave an impression because there's just not much else to pay attention to while grinding for experience points.}

That is the saddest double score I've ever had to give. It reminds me of Mega Man Legends 1: Roll says "mission complete" after each battle, but in one of the early boss battles you can let Tron completely destroy the town. Roll gives a less than enthusiastic "Mission...complete?" in response to your failure.

That's kinda like this. Good job technically getting that extra point, but...uhh...are you really satisfied with this score?

I see people saying this song is like Quick Man, Wave Man, and Plant Man's themes. Also, one person insisting on Boomer Kuwanger. I fail to see it; all four of those songs are a lot better than this one. I suppose I could try to listen to all the songs back-to-back and find similarities, but I do not want to continue listening to this song, so I'm going to not do that.

((Usually I leave songs playing on an endless loop while I do their write-ups, but this is one of the few where I shut it off because I'd rather have silence than listen to the song))


As much as I dislike the song itself, I like everything else about Slash Man: I love that he's a cross between Mega Man 5 (GB)'s Pluto & Wolverine; I love that he's a deforestation robot that was modified to lead an army of robot dinosaurs; I love that the stage is a random Jurassic Park reference; and I love that the original version of the game called out the Slash Claw as being like Strider Hiryu's sword, Cypher.

Now if only he could get a decent theme to go with all that...

After Dr. Wily ran out of money, he created Crystal Man as a get-rich-quick scheme, hoping to sell the artificial crystals he could create. I suppose it's not a bad plan, but it's a rather....tame design choice compared to the insanity of most Robot Masters.

I'm sure I'm alone in this, but the song somehow reminds me of snake charmer tunes. Don't know why.


I've gotten a bit more attached to Crystal Man as he's wound up as one of my main robots in Se7en's ongoing Games & Things Contest. Fighting alongside a Robot Master for so long has made me kinda appreciate the little guy.
