Hello and Welcome!,

What you will find here will be interesting for sure. Raetsel and I have deliberated on our placements and we averaged them together to get our Final results. I'm a little surprised in the list results personally as she and I have major differences across the board in our selections but this should be entertaining all the same.

What to expect:
-Each Ranking will have 3 posts.
--The Basic post will display the main numbers and the link to the Mega Man tune being ranked.
--My Input/ranking will follow.
--Raetsel's Input/ranking will follow.

{Perhaps I should clarify my...absurd scoring system.

Elimination Pie %: Should be the same as Se7en's; divide the 200 songs into 10 groups of 20. Top 20 songs get 10 points, next 20 get 9, and so on.

Individual Game Ranking: A score for how songs compare to other songs from the same game. In theory, it would stop me from giving perfect scores to everything from one game that I liked and would force a bit of diversity on my list. I kinda cheated and gave three songs a 0; this is one of them.

YouTube Score: How popular was the song on YouTube? Likes - Dislikes = Score. If a song had 0 Dislikes, the score was doubled. Top 20 most popular songs get 10 points and so on; in theory, it would limit my terrible opinions by giving some weight to how popular they actually are.

Ramble Etc: How long did my write-up for this song go for? Some of the write-ups will be...uhh...things, as they will go off on barely related topics. The 20 longest "write-ups" get 10 points, etc.

Lol. I like how you felt the same as me when it came to the duplication here. (Had I noticed when I made the initial list... I might have swapped them out but in the end there were only 2 and they are each used differently so I left them in.)

And your 'buffoonery' will bring some character to the ranking so have at it.lol (I might have a few rankings with lengthier write-ups myself)

{One thing the lower scoring tunes have in common in Mega Man 7 is that they sound less like intentional loops and more like broken/skipping records and this here is a great example of that. I do believe someone could go insane if they were forced to listen to this for a great length of time. It oddly does kinda work for a Password Screen in this case though.}

Also.. this made me think of all the times I fell asleep while playing and woke up to the Password screen or title screen in these games. I think it's why some of the tunes are embedded into my brain when they really shouldn't be.lol

{Possibly one of the shortest loops in the ranking with barely a melody to hum to. Never was a big fan of MM7 or MM8 tunes though so I'm not surprised to see some land at the bottom of my list even with a preset scoring system. It does sound like a Mega Man tune although I don't think it works that well for a Get Weapon theme.}

{Now that a song from 8 has shown up, let's just say the "Individual Game Ranking" was largely to prevent me from constantly giving 10s to everything from 8. I think the smooth techno jazz style just worked for me, even if it tends to be the least popular soundtrack; alternatively, the fact that 8 is the main series game I have the most nostalgia for gave me a severe bias towards it; or I was just so desperate for anything non-8-bit at the time for a break that I would have loved any PSX-era soundtrack thrown at me. Or all of the above.}

Well, at least it's not the MM4 Stage Select theme. I feel like this could be used as the opening to a longer, better song. It's tense and loud, but too short to be anything other than annoying.

Someone in the comments section suggested using it as an alarm. I think that would actually work pretty well, which is enough to give it a slight edge over some of the other repetitive noise loops.

Tbh I kinda think the bgm to most of the Capcom/Disney games were pretty great. Chip n' Dale 1 & 2 and Ducktales 1 & 2 at least anyway. Never played Tailspin or the Little Mermaid. Mickey's Mousecapades was decent also.

{For such an incredibly short loop you might be surprised that I think it works great as a Get Weapon theme. It may be possible that I suffer from some MM2 bias here but I don't think it sounds that redundant considering. (In truth it may actually be the most redundant theme in the entire classic series.)}
