Peter Pan (fat chance of this happening) Pinocchio Bambi Cinderella Aladdin (GASP! IT REALLY IS ALADDIN!) Pocahontas Hercules Mulan Tarzan Bolt
Also, of these, I rank them as so.
Aladdin Hercules Cinderella Mulan Peter Pan Bambi Tarzan Pinocchio Pocahontas Bolt
So it should be Pinocchio, Pocahontas, or Bolt (really, should just be Bolt (actually, it should be Snow White, which is objectively inferior to all these).
However, with this guy ranking, I fully expect Hercules or Cinderella, would not be utterly stunned by Aladdin.

I agree with the thoughts about Rabbit, he didn't seem himself in the 2011 film. While I still liked him, it seemed to me they changed him a little bit in an effort to make him more popular. Kanga and Roo are in the film so it would be hard for me to name any other character the worst as I've never really liked either of those two.
Tigger didn't appear nearly enough either, so that's a vote down from me. Pooh is all about characters, though they did attempt a full length plot with this particular entry I still say the characters and their iconic personalities are meant to carry it. The lack of Tigger and alterations in Rabbit set this down a bit from where it was. The Backson is probably my favorite song out of the franchise now, though.

Honestly? I haven't seen it in a long time. Going off of the last time I watched it, I would probably rank it right around the middle of the list. I'd need a fresh watch-through to accurately say for sure.
I was gonna ask this too. But I will say personally for me, it is top 15 if not top 10,'and either it or Tangled is the best Disney movie since Hercules.
I've never seen it. I'll try and get a hold of a copy within the next couple days and I'll let you know what I think. It looks like something I'd enjoy.
I loved how they made such an effort to make this look like the old Disney movies of the 60s and 70s (which I like more than most people do, I think). The songs were decent, but not as good as the ones in Princess and the Frog or Tangled. One gripe I have with the movie is that they made all the characters kinda too 'stupid', even the ones that traditionally had a bit more intelligence such as Owl, Rabbit, and Kanga.

Definitely agree with this, although in most instances I thought it was funny. All of Owl's scenes were gold, Kanga had some great lines, and even Rabbit had his moments. I just didn't like how they changed Rabbit so much.
Best Character: Friend Owl Worst Character: Flower
Bambi is a very charming film about the life of a deer prince and his adventures in the forest as he grows into an adult. Its basically the closest thing Disney has come to a nature documentary. Filled with beautiful, lush animation, Bambi does a fantastic job with the environment and character design. The animation is actually my favorite part of the film, and probably the biggest reason I have it ranked in the top 20.
As the film doesnt have much of a plot, more of the weight is placed on the characters than usual. Bambi, Thumper and Flower are the three biggest names, but we hardly see anything from Flower. He seriously receives like five minutes of screen time throughout the entire film. Flower is another character that has been ruined for me from how overrated he is in the Disney contests. Also hes not cute. Bam! I said it. Thumper on the other hand is actually a lot better than I remember. Well, at least when hes young. Hes actually pretty cute when hes young! Unfortunately he completely loses his charm when he ages. His voice does not match him at all, and he gets kind of boring. Bambi is the only of the three that I like throughout the entire film. Hes adorable when hes young, and hes likable when hes older. Im not sure we see a ton of development from really any of the characters, but at least Bambi is likable. The real star of the show however is none other than Friend Owl. I had not seen Bambi in many, many years before making this list, and I had completely forgotten about Friend Owl. In short, hes hilarious. My favorite Friend Owl scene has got to be when the birds around him start to sing their song and Friend Owl just completely loses his temper, ruining their song in the process. He can be cranky and stern, but hes also very nice and can always be counted on to look after the young prince.
There were times during this film that I thought I had stepped into the Willy Wonka universe. Once the crew of Bambi, Thumper and Flower are all grown up, we see them going off to do manly things in the forest or something. Then, one by one, a female critter pops up and hypnotizes Flower (who I could have sworn was gay), and then Thumper, and finally Bambi. It was kind of funny how they each found love in a line like that. The love sequences for Thumper and Flower were short, not to mention unbelievable in Flowers case, but Bambis had a little more substance to it. Faline is actually a lot of fun, especially when theyre younger. And Bambi was so shy! Their introduction was a really cute scene, and Im glad it was included into the film to give us a little bit of development between them.
I know everyone likes to say that the death of Bambis mother is one of the saddest things in the canon, but it really isnt. Now hear me out. The relationship between Bambi and his mother is never really developed all that well. The scenes they have together are short, and they dont really expand on much more aside from the typical mother and son relationship. We also dont even see the death actually happen. It occurs off screen, and Bambi is only seen grieving for a very short amount of time. Was it an emotional scene? Sure. But if it truly rocked Bambis world we didnt see it. After his mothers death we really didnt see him struggle to deal with it at all. It was just sort of pushed to the back of our minds for the rest of the film. What actually makes this scene sad is the music that accompanies it. As the two of them are trying to run to safety the music is sporadic and intense. We hear a gunshot and it quickly slows down, and the wind begins to pick up. Its a great choice to signify how alone Bambi is at the moment, and I think more than anything it helps achieve the purpose of the scene. Also whats the deal with Bambis dad? He is so serious and intimidating! Do male deer just leave their families once their kids are born? Even Bambi is seen alone with his father as opposed to being with his family at the very end of the film.
Bambi suffers at times due to the film getting a little boring in places. Its always beautiful to watch, but some parts seemed to drag on a little too long. The first half in particular is a little slow, but the second half dramatically picks up the pace. Right from his fight with Ronno the douche things start to get intense for Bambi. Hes constantly trying to protect Faline amidst obstacles from rival deer, hunting dogs, man, and the environment. Despite receiving a wound of his own, Bambi overcomes these trials and returns to safety with the rest of the critters. This segment is exceptionally well done, creating a fast-paced environment filled with tension and high drama. Its a great climax for a very good film. If the film had better characters and a more visible villain, it would no doubt be ranked higher on the list.
Mostly agree with your points. Few things to comment on.
Flower... yeah, I'll be honest I thought he was gay. His introduction scene he's basically fawning over Bambi and blushing about how Bambi can call him whatever he wants. It just led me to believe that... yeah. That just didn't seem like a reaction you'd expect. Not to mention, why is his name Flower in the first place? Did Bambi just get really lucky and find him there, or did he actually just rename himself Flower because that's what Bambi said? That being said, his screentime is so limited in the original film that I really never understood his popularity.
Man is actually a pretty good villain in my book. It's amazing what the film did with a silent antagonist who never even appears on screen. Bambi's mother's death is probably overrated by many people, but I still found it to be a touching scene. The film didn't really spend enough time on it, but I did once read that the scene was supposed to be longer but it was edited for content (supposedly actually seeing her body would have made the film less family friendly and all).
Be sure to watch Bambi II to see more of Bambi's dad! Actually a pretty good experience, even if you watch it just to see the relationship he has with his father in between his mother's death and the end of the original movie.
This movie was very difficult to rank, as it is completely different than any other Disney film. Whereas most Disney movies focus on either story or humor (or a combination of both), Bambi instead focuses on the emotions of the audience. Whether it be the cuteness of baby animals, the fear and sadness felt by Bambi at the loss of his mother, or the horrifying menace of 'Man', few movies can match the emotional immersion of Bambi. All the songs are amazing, and help add to the incredible mood of the movie. Bambi is the crown jewel of the classic era, and there is unlikely to ever be another movie quite like it.
Best Character: Thumper
Frequently thought of as the stereotypical 'cute animal' character, and for good reason. Thumper is simply adorable. Whenever he appears in a scene, he pretty much steals it completely.
Worst Character: Bambi's Mother
She's simply dull and uninteresting, the whole extent of her character is 'lol, I'm a mother', she doesn't even have a real name. Even in the scene where she dies, most of the sadness comes from concern for poor Bambi, rather then actually caring about what just happened to Mommy.

Finally watched Brave. It was pretty good, but I agree that it feels like that Brave is swapped at birth with Wreck-It-Ralph. Brave felt very Disney-ish.
I actually shed a few tears watching it, like when Elinor spoke about how they gave Merida what they couldn't have and how she looked at Merida in her ultra-tight gown and looked like she was about to say something but relented. And a few more at the end of the movie.
It's not as...inventive as some other Pixar movies, and it somewhat felt like (spoiler of the 'main' plot) Brother Bear meets Beauty and the Beast but it's worth a watch.
