Mostly agree with your points. Few things to comment on.
Flower... yeah, I'll be honest I thought he was gay. His introduction scene he's basically fawning over Bambi and blushing about how Bambi can call him whatever he wants. It just led me to believe that... yeah. That just didn't seem like a reaction you'd expect. Not to mention, why is his name Flower in the first place? Did Bambi just get really lucky and find him there, or did he actually just rename himself Flower because that's what Bambi said? That being said, his screentime is so limited in the original film that I really never understood his popularity.
Man is actually a pretty good villain in my book. It's amazing what the film did with a silent antagonist who never even appears on screen. Bambi's mother's death is probably overrated by many people, but I still found it to be a touching scene. The film didn't really spend enough time on it, but I did once read that the scene was supposed to be longer but it was edited for content (supposedly actually seeing her body would have made the film less family friendly and all).
Be sure to watch Bambi II to see more of Bambi's dad! Actually a pretty good experience, even if you watch it just to see the relationship he has with his father in between his mother's death and the end of the original movie.
