A in Library Science (1 hour, easy) D in Physics 211 (3 hours, f***ing hard) C in the Physics lab that went along with that (1 hour, not that bad but everything rested on two exams and they were pretty hard) D in Calculus 201 (5 hours, not that hard but I kept completely nuking the tests though i got near perfect on quizzes) F in Organic Chem (3 hours, the first one, dear god someone help) dropped the Organic Chem lab that went along with that (1 hour, see above)
my 3.2~ GPA dropped down to a 2.6 in a few days (fourth semester), I would have dropped ochem but them I'd have completely f***ed myself over by dropping down to 11 hours meaning I wouldn't be full time anymore, so yeah
welp, goodbye whatever scholarships I still had. lost $10k per year last semester alone because of a D in Calc 200 and it looks like I'm on the road to losing everything else I had
f***, someone tell me why am i a chemistry major and not like english or something
now to ignore life doing nothing but playing VN's for a week or two until i get my summer job back

i mean english is just something i find naturally really easy since i read and write a lot, i am the master of writing A- essays completely out of my ass
can't say i've done very much identifying carbon chains in my spare time over the years, i still couldn't tell you which f***ing way E is and Z is because why is there german in my chemistry why

Physics 211 is the calculus physics correct? That **** sucked, 212 is what made me stop being an engineer. I took up accounting and love it so I'm glad.

Business is actually pretty tough at top programs. Other "joke" degrees like history and english also get an unfair rap, since they can be tough too (again, we're talking top 20-10 undergrad, not your local community college). If you want to pick on something, try Women's Studies (LOL) or Pre-Law (LOL).
Doing something I love is far more interesting to me than doing something with a huge paycheck. And I was in poverty or worse my entire childhood and adolescence so the whole 'you say that now but wait until you have no money to eat' thing doesn't really apply to me.
Acting, voice acting, archaeology, maybe game design too... Here I come.
I'm a double in nursing and electronic production. Yes I know these are completely different. I dont care. I almost majored in dietetics but saw a million chem courses and was like "nope"
While it's great to major in science, you have to actually be good at it! Whatever you major in should be something you can excel in (and should be a useful degree, too)

Unless it's a specific scholarship designation, full-time counts for how many hours you paid for. If you receive a Withdraw (ie, the course still appears on your transcript), the credit hours still count.

im pretty sure colleges look at full time enrollment as attempted hours and not "how many hours are you enrolled in at any given moment".
I had to drop 2 courses in my college days, both of which knocked me from 4 classes to 3 (12 hours to 9). However I was still considered full time.

This is recoverable, but you're going to have to work hard. Bother people. Bother your teachers. Make sure you understand every assignment. Read ahead, do your work the day it's assigned.
Are you enjoying your calculus classes? Did you enjoy O-chem? I have a physics bachelors, and our classes had 12 hours of homework per class every week. If the subject matter isn't interesting to you on a basic level, you're going to struggle. It only gets harder once you get to your real classes.
I will advise you to switch over the chemical engineering instead of chemistry, if you decide to continue to pursue this path.

you don't think it's his own fault that he failed to balance his class schedule and probably to manage his time wisely as well?
Maybe. But some majors you just have unavoidable semesters like that. He has to be past gen ed by now if he's taking organic chem, so most of his easy classes are probably done with anyways.
