Online was Azumanga Daioh fo sho. Naruto up until the Sannin arc was second, but midway through that arc I switched to the manga.

yeah same with me, I only watch very very few anime online in my childhood so I really remember them all a lot (Trigun, Hellsing, Chobits)

then I stopped for many years, and it wasn't until Board 8 was hyping up Higurashi that I got back into it (marathoned season 1 in one day, then season 2 the next day!)

TV - Pokemon was the first I paid attention to, I vaguely remember seeing Sailor Moon. I had never even heard of DBZ until I came to board 8, either it wasn't around here or I was totally blind to it. I did used to watch shin-chan but can't recall if that was before or after pokemon.

I only remember Azumanga Daioh because the Chiyo Chant ) became a sorta miny fad among some of the people I knew at school, none of us knowing where it was from.
Then I ended up watching some Chiyo penguin videos ) and ended up watching Azumanga Daioh. I then watched Naruto because of Ninja Info Cards ) which became a fad in my high school ICT class along with SUPER DRAGON *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP* ), and then realised that Naruto and Azumanga both fall under the same cartoon sub-genre of anime (this realisation came around 6 months later....), so I watched a bit more.

VHS is the missing link here, back in the early-to-mid 90s thats where I first got into anime, renting them.

I guess for me it'd be the series Blue Seed and stuff like the Fatal Fury OVAs/movies, Ninja Scroll, Ghost in the Shell, etc.

Then on TV well I guess DBZ. First ones online, guess around 2000 or 2001, stuff like X tv.

First DVD I bought also around 2000 or 2001 was Rurouni Kenshin disc 1, and then Bebop and Trigun.
