Rock may actually be right, that theres some kind of plan for a set of 3 matches and thats what this is meant to set up wit hCena ULTIMATELY going over.

But I dont really want this MEing WM29, its time to move on from the Rock and its time for Cena to give the rub to some of his full-time colleagues.

Because Cena works here full time and Rock has a wife to satisfy his need to be jerked off in public.

Great. That's totally the same thing as being a full-time employee who works every single damn raw and a ton of house shows.

Cena busts his ass off for this company. Rock is using them to advertise his movies.

Question for those people who are down on the match result. Which result is better for you?

Cena wins over Rock and they do the torch passing moment. Beyond a victory celebration the show just goes on as it was before with Cena.
-OR-
Result is as is, but causes Cena to revamp his character in some way... heel turns because he's pissed Rock won or reinvents himself because he cost himself the match or whatever.

I'm just curious which you think is better booking. And if you think the former is-- do you think Cena is in need of character development.

Cena might have deserved but he's also been on top for longer than The Rock was even in the company as an active competitor (2005-12 vs. 96-03), and also actually has wins in the main event of Wrestlemania. Rock literally lost three WM main events in a row. He deserves one too.

And Rock busted his ass, btw. He did his time. Rock isn't just some movie star; he did the stuff Cena does but he did it back then. This isn't like Vin Diesel coming to WWE and going over Cena in the main event of WM, I think people forget that sometimes about Rock.

Definitely the former if I'm writing WWE.

Cena's not turning heel any time soon because even Punk and Orton aren't on his level I dont think. I also dont think his character is in any special need to change. I think most of the time, Cena is the victim of poor writing more than anything.

What he needs are more angles that let him let loose like the last few weeks with the Rock or his angle this summer with Punk. Heck even his angle two summers ago was fun and a great use of him til the writing got dumb.

Wrestling right now has so many guys who switch alignment willy-nilly and Cenas constancy is one of his most endearing attributes. If you start treating John Cena like anybody else, so will the fans.

Its not our fault he didnt go over at Wrestlemania 2000. Thats when it shouldve happened.

And the only reason he DIDNT have a longer run at the top is precisely BECAUSE he left the business.

His angle with Punk over the summer was all Punk.

His biggest moment was him punching Punk after he called him the New York Yankees, a minute after Cena said Vince McMahon ate Big Foot's diaper.

Everyone but, like, 2 people loved Trips vs. Taker right?

Because that match was awesome.

Shawn's burden as referee was incredible. All this historical WWE s*** keeps getting dumped on him, from being the guy who has to screw Bret, to being the guy who has to retire Flair, to this. Him rocking in the corner like Mankind circa 1996 or something when the entire match had gone haywire and the most important thing in WWE history depended on him was amazing.

And if The Rock was still wrestling those 8 years, people would be b****ing about how tired they are off The Rock and wish he was off TV.

In fact, people were like that in 2002!

You guys were barely tolerated him being around a month and you're pissed at him for leaving for those 8 years?

There really is no winning here. If Rock had stuck around all these years, people would complain about him being around too long. So he left at, what I would say was a comfortable position in his career, and people get mad about that, too.

All I was saying is it undermined whatever point XIII was trying to make.

And Im not mad he left. I'm mad he left, and then came back and the WWE proceeded to stuff his johnson in their mouths for over a year.

Yes, Taker/Trips was amazing...theatre. That's all I can call it, and that's absolutely not a criticism. I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through. The ending of it seemed to have some callbacks to WM26 (Trips using Taker to pull himself up, before the throatslit sign but this time it was from Taker, not HBK) and 27 ("STAY DOWN!", again this time from Taker and not Trips) too which I appreciated.

And that has nothing to do with Rock/Cena.

If the WWE is burying undercard talent, it's because they're doing it for the benefit of guys like CENA. Rock beating Cena doesn't mean everyone will forget about Cena (despite his claims otherwise).

This is ONE match. ONE. When Cena and Ziggler go at it at the next PPV and Cena buries Ziggler, THEN you can b****. But Cena is fine, Rock is fine.

If anything, having someone better than The Rock would be a bit absurd because what on earth do you do with him?

If Cena's gonna be an active worker for some time to come and obviously gonna get his hands into titles again eventually, it'd be for the best that he's not literally beyond legendary so that he can still OVERCOME THE ODDS. Either that, or just have some actual chance of being beaten and it still meaning something.

That's true. And it's not like Cena got crushed tonight, either. He basically wins if he doesn't show off with the People's Elbow at the end there. All that shows in kayfabe is that is he's a very strong competitor but it at least gives him a weakness.

Sheamus has been on a nonstop Jinder Mahal squash match routine for the better part of a year. He never lost (ever) but man, I can't really recall where the notable wins he had were aside from the RR.

Anything Sheamus can do to build credibility would come with a good title feud after this, but before it he was just doing typical superman against jobbers by himself or coming in fresh against the weaker man in a tag team match, and then there's this "match".
