From: Jakyl25 | #331 Cena did a lot of high-profile clean jobs in 2008
A lot? Only ones I can recall off the top of my head are Trips and Batista, unless you're counting the 3 and 4-ways @ WM and Backlash.
From: Jakyl25 | #340 Punk/Sheamus/Show/Cena/Orton vs. Jericho/Bryan/Rhodes/Henry/Kane
EDIT: Good luck beating that face team, heels. Jesus.
It can be done! Remember this time about 4 years ago we had a Raw featuring Cena/Trips/Taker/Kane vs. Orton/JBL/Edge/Chavo. The result? Edge wins for his team after spearing Kane.
Out of those 5 heels and faces, for the heels to win, it'd probably be Henry/Kane pinning Orton/Big Show. No way does Punk, Sheamus, or Cena take a job 24 hours after Mania.

I am, since he was pinned in both.
And 4 is a lot for Cena!

He can dismiss his opponent and lose. He can't dismiss his opponent and lose in sixteen seconds. Plus we all damn well know that's not what's going to happen.
16 seconds is way better in my mind. This way it is basically a fluke. Bryan was defeated by his own vanity and that is all. If they have a legit match and DB loses that means Sheamus legitmately defeated him, end of story. This way Bryan was not outwrestled, outfought, or outsmarted. Sheamus didn't win, Daniel Bryan lost. Which was of course the whole point of this "feud".
It's the perfect end to to this chapter of his story. After winning MitB all he cared about was having a title match at WM, now his pride has ruined that.

From: SmartMuffin | #360 Like, if you're DB, you gotta be somewhat peeved at how you had to go down, but someone satisfied that the crowd was all over you like that.
Hey, he can say he gets the same PPV bonus as Undertaker for like 1/100 of the work. <_<

Since he's under contract I assume he's been paid the whole time, just his downside guarantee plus cuts of any merch sales he was generating in his absence.

I thought the whole point of this feud is "Daniel Bryan is not as good as guys like Sheamus, so he keeps using dirty tactics to win while smugly acting like he really is the best." And therefore, Sheamus would expose him once he doesn't have any tricks to hide behind.
Instead, Sheamus was able to beat him in sixteen seconds. With one move. That's not a fluke. That's pathetic. What other supposedly champion caliber wrestlers can you think of who were beaten clean in one move? That's jobber-level s***. On the biggest stage, on his first appearance on that stage, and as the World Champion, with the crowd inexplicably in his corner, you make Daniel Bryan look like a jobber.
A clean loss in one move is not a fluke. A surprise roll-up to start the match is a fluke. This is a burial.

From: XIII_rocks | #371 Watching Punk/Jericho again. Match really picks up from the suplex outside the ring onwards.
I think I understand the reasoning behind throwing in the DQ thing for no honestly good reason. They kinda booked themselves into a corner (especially after Monday's beatdown of Christian) where it wouldn't make sense for Punk to do anything besides walk in there and try to destroy Jericho by any weapon necessary. For Punk to walk in there and just wrestle Jericho, or even to just brawl with him within the rules, would seem weird.
So their options were to either do this or just make it no-DQ. Doing this allows them to EVENTUALLY get to the pure wrestling match once Punk's anger subsides, whereas I think they're saving a no-DQ for later.

So why did Hardcore Holly beat Billy Gunn and Al Snow.
I mean it's totally unfair on Billy Gunn, how's he supposed to get over if he loses the belt at mania, like Billy's supposed to be the future and you just had him lose to Holly that;s such BS, WWF sucks and I hope they die and lose to WCW.
From: PrivateBiscuit1 | #368 I'm only disappointed in DB/Sheamus because I actually wanted to see that match, and I didn't get to see it.
This is the second year in a row they had these two in a match I really wanted to see at Wrestlemania, and decided "nah, we need time for Triple H vs Undertaker."
I'm assuming that's where their time went, anyway. Like I said, I'm not watching the rest.
I mean of all the ways that match could go, did anyone in the world think that's how it would go? It makes it worse to me how over Dragon was. A guy managed to use the screen time they gave him to get that over, and they feed him to Sheamus in a way that has Jinder Mahal laughing.
Obviously there's still a SmackDown for them to show what direction they plan on taking with Dragon, but as it stands at right this second, I'll honestly be surprised if he wins another world championship in his WWE career.

That was certainly not the point I got. The storyline I saw was that Daniel Bryan was getting more and more full of himself and kept managing to defeat everyone who was supposed to crush him. Sheamus was the next person to try and knock Bryan's head in and shut him up. Basically the storyline was all about Daniel Bryan. Sheamus was just the avatar of everyone who wanted to shut him up.
Instead, Sheamus was able to beat him in sixteen seconds. With one move. That's not a fluke. That's pathetic.
It was a suprise attack that only happened because Daniel Bryan wasn't really paying attention. Sheamus will never be able to do it again. That is like the definition of a fluke.

I expect Daniel to be pissed and come at Sheamus full force. Basically this will refocus Daniel Bryan and make him a man on a mission.
What he does in the tag match will be a good sign.

Arrogant, weasely heels aren't supposed to refocus. The whole reason you hate them is how arrogant and dismissive they are when really they're only winning by being underhanded. And there is no way they will make Sheamus look legitimately threatened by Daniel Bryan.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if his rematch clause match is even shorter, and again consists of a Bro Kick to the head followed by a quick pin. Just to get the rematch out of the way. If that was the match they thought was worth putting on the year's biggest pay-per-view, I don't know why I should expect anything more from their next match.

Honestly pre-match I could have seen Punk's anger getting in the way, and Jericho using that to his advantage to get a surprise rollup or something. As it is, I hated that Jericho was trying to win by DQ because it seems out of his current character - that is not trying to prove he is the best in the world, it's just being a routine, cowardly heel. I'm glad that he stopped using that tactic because it did damage the match for me early on.
absolutely loved mania. obviously sheamus/daniel would have been a good match but it was a satisfying end to the feud. orton/kane surpassed my expectations while big show/the grotesque one failed to meet them. the three main events were all awesome and I marked the hell out multiple times during hhh/taker and rocky/cena
ive been pretty dead on wrestling for the past 2 or 3 years but this show definitely captivated me and will have me watching consistently for the foreseeable future

no more mr. nice sess....hello mr. nice watch! somebody call the brinks truck!
During the PPV, our crowd ended up pointing at some dude with a hat and calling him the VTech shooter because he was never hyped and just kept staring.
From: voltch | #387 Well if you already declared the show to be a total bust bust after such a short amount of time, then you're clearly putting it at Mania 2 level.
I haven't judged the show. For all I know, Punk and Jericho put on a ten-star match, Triple H and Undertaker wrestled like they were twenty years younger, and Rock and Cena had a technical masterpiece that involved hundreds of moves we've never seen them use before, and several we've never seen anyone use before.
I just don't care about any of that because I am a Daniel Bryan mark, and I just saw all the guy's absurd momentum disappear into thin air instead of the advertised match that had me so excited.
The only thing I'm willing to say about the show is that the first twelve minutes of it were more disappointing and heartbreaking than anything I've ever seen in wrestling in spite of Jillian Garcia's surprisingly good rendition of a patriotic song.
