gay straight bi whatever you can do the job just the same. the higher-ups don't need to know your sexsual perference.

Straight people weren't forbidden from revealing their sexuality. If someone found out that a guy had a girlfriend, it wasn't a problem for him.

The same thing would have been a problem for a gay or lesbian in the military. They don't have to be going around shouting it out for it to be a problem.

yeah, it's as simple as going to a bar, other guys looking at a hot chick and you looking at a hot dude. if it's not a problem then the policy wouldn't exist in the first place. trying to be 'neutral' about it instead of not trying anything at all shows the bias and the issue.

from my experience with conservatives (which means my whole extended family, mostly living in Texas) they don't approve of gay people but the "they protect us by serving in the military" trumps most things. you might not applaud as loud for the gays as you do for the rest but most wouldn't boo an active duty military member.

It's just sad that the media has already decided that Romney is the nominee, and Perry is the "other guy" that we pretend you can pick but really you can't. And nobody else is given the time of day. Seeing Fox News play this game is just disgusting.

To me it's sad that we have only three choices for President. The media basically chose Perry and Romney as the frontrunners by constantly declaring that "Perry and Romney are the frontrunners." It's kind of silly to watch the debates happen and then try to reconcile that with how mass media shapes opinion afterward. From what I've watched of the Republican debates Ron Paul has crushed the rest of them repeatedly, and no one will take him seriously because the major news networks will paint him as a loon and the public will more or less follow what they're told.

Obama is problematic too - the right hates him and the left is dissatisfied as well. For almost every American citizen, he would not be the first choice for president. But it's taken for granted that he'll be the nominee, and he'll face Romney or Perry in the election and most on the left will vote Obama because "hell no the other choice."

A Republican president could veto a repeal. The president is just as important in the legislative process as Congress, unless Congress can ever muster up 2/3 in both houses.

this is a useless question here though since that's not at all what it's about. it's not about "the gays need to tell us they're gay and make us accept them" it's about "if it ever comes up that I'm straight/gay will I be harassed or kicked out of the military?" for straight people, obviously not. for gay people it's an issue.

and in other to fix that issue set it up so no one is kicked out no matter thier sexuality. They can't stop other soldiers from harassing. They can only react with disciplinary actions that say we won't tolerate harassing people for any reason

The funny thing is, Paul absolutely destroys ALL of the "who won the debate" polls. The various websites and polling agencies have responded by removing him as an option. Pay close attention, you're seeing more and more of these "who do you support" polls that only allow you to choose between Perry, Romney, and Bachmann.
