curious question for anyone who can answer it. For any job why would you ever need to know someones sexuality.

this is a useless question here though since that's not at all what it's about. it's not about "the gays need to tell us they're gay and make us accept them" it's about "if it ever comes up that I'm straight/gay will I be harassed or kicked out of the military?" for straight people, obviously not. for gay people it's an issue.
