Introducing the newly rebranded Health and Wellness Social, formerly known as Weight Loss Social. Our initial mission was to provide a dedicated space for CE community members to share their weight loss journeys. However, it became clear that our conversations evolved to encompass maintenance, fitness, and overall well-being. Remember, its not just about the pounds; its about their what they are made out of and what they represent for each individual.

Celebrating our collective achievement, weve shed over 225 pounds togetherthats equivalent to an entire WWE wrestler! Weve said goodbye to The Miz in weight, and now, lets aim to bid farewell to R-Truth by losing another 225 pounds. That would indeed be AWESOME. As we progress, well notice looser pants, healthier heartbeats, and an overall enhancement in our quality of life.

Our platform is a testament to the power of collective encouragement and unwavering support. Whether youre stepping in for the first time or youre a familiar face returning, your insights and experiences are the pillars of our shared triumphs. Weve transcended beyond being just CE Weight Warriors; we are now simply the WARRIORS.

Embarking on this journey requires bravery, dedication, resilience, and an unyielding spirit. Its about more than just weightits about the battles fought, the habits changed, and the small victories that lead to monumental transformations. We are united in this endeavor, pushing forward, knowing theres still a path to tread and milestones to reach. Together, we are stronger, healthier, and more vibrant. We live to win another victory. We are ONE. We are the WARRIORS, and our quest continues.

Q1 is almost over. I've made very little progress due to work, but diet and regular exercise are getting better. Strength needs to get better. Starting the topic at 247. If this topic lasts 2 months I hope to be hovering around 240.

Hey guys!

At around 176.5 or so. So down 5 pounds this year. Not much, but I have been being purposeful and gaining muscle, so I wouldn't be surprised if I actually lost 8 or so pounds of fat. I do know that I am comfortably wearing size 32 jeans for the first time in years.

I still think I want to get to 170 and with gaining more muscle.

Also, lots of the regulars here made some incredible progress in the last thread, much more than I did. Great job!

Let me put on my professional voice for this one, since it is very important.

I wholeheartedly echo Jeffs sentiments. In my role at work, I often find myself linking individuals to mental health resources. And doing what I do for as long as I have, sometimes you can tell when a person needs help, and other times you have NO clue at all. And sometimes I felt like a fraud, how can I tell these people to get help when I get overwhelmed in malls and gyms. However, Ive come to understand that offering support in the ways I can is not fraudulent; its part of the healing journey. Remember, experiencing self-doubt is natural, and seeking a conversation about it can be incredibly beneficial.

Facebook link, but this guy seems to be a nutritionist, and in it it says that if you were to eat big Mac, it'd take like 5-7 hours of sleep to burn it off, with that being said I don't feel as bad having the occasional mcdonalds and stuff because it seems like that even without exercise it'll burn off

They got me about 18 months so they did alright.

Apparently those who are seriously into working out typically have multiple pairs for DIFFERENT workouts.

I ain't doing that shit. Just get me a good pair of cardio shoes and I'm sure they will work fine for my weight lifting as well.

Yep, the treadmill can cut shoes from the side but that is amazing. How long did you have them?

And yes, I have a pair of outdoor running shoes, indoor running shoes, triathlon shoes, weight-lifting shoes, cycling shoes, and maybe two pair for everyday life. Good news is when you have one for each activity they last longer.

With the weather changing, my outdoor rides are becoming easier and my indoor rides are becoming more intense. My heart rate was 160 in January when riding outdoors (Zone 3/4) and now it's around 140 bpm (Zone 2) even though I'm going faster. The key to improvement as we wrap up Q1 2024 is incorporating weight-lifting and keeping the mileage up w/o injury. Should make for a good beach body. If I can lift, ride two hours indoors and sleep for 7 hours I'll make a lot of progress.

Since I have foot issues . I just use this these Asics hiking shoes that give me a lot of support. Before that I used to just wear these Asics Cross Trainers to try to hit everything. I was doing their running shoes. But when I started playing Raquetball I running shoes were not great. And I don't have the will power to keep switching lol But I did by some boxing shoes thinking that would help me. But those freaking things are so hard to get into I just said NAW.

Sorry for the double post. But this as been something that has been getting to me. Have you ever looked at your progress and just felt said. Like I saw myself in the mirror one day and was like "FUCK YOU" . And like even at my heaviest I never felt that way about myself. Like I always wanted to get smaller but I never disliked CJ. And it is not something that happens all the time. Just like a few times. And it always makes me worried.

Yep the bathroom mirror isn't that bad, it's other mirrors + being caught on camera from angles that suck. I use Asics for outdoor running with Copper Fit Balance Orthotic Insoles. Once you break them in it helps a great deal.

Had a good ride last night watching basketball with a lot of elevation. Goal today is Lower body weights, bench press & pull-ups, walking and boxing. I'm trying to do everything I would do at the gym at home on my equipment. If I can do this and continue cycling without injury I think I'll make some real progress in Q2. Cyclist friends hate bodybuilding but weights always help me get faster.

But I guess he should know something about losing wieght. My last Doctor did not he just told me to stop eating white food. I am so bad at that.

"Do any of my current conditions or treatments have weight gain as a side effect?"
and

"If I'm trying to lose weight, is there anything in particular I should be concerned about?"

It depends on your labs. Learning how to read them can help. Thyroid issues (TSH) can indicate weight problems one way or another. If your glucose is high you know a diet change can help reduce insulin spikes and resistance. If your cholesterol and triglycerides are high probably eat less meat, if your ALT and AST numbers are bad it means you may have problems with your liver that can cause swelling and the appearance of weight gain all over your body. Common with alcohol use. Heart meds (Beta Blockers) can lower your Max Heart Rate so that's something to ask maybe.

I did see South Carolina murk North Carolina, when working out at home, sports make for good unofficial timers. The Women's game is a little more entertaining than the Men this weekend. Stanford and Iowa State was also good. Felt good to finally knock the dust off my weights.

Deadlifts 235lbs 10 sets of 5
Squats 185lbs 2 sets of 20

Went to the heart doctor today and got the NP in his place and I am pretty pissed about that. And I asked her what was my ideal weight. And this lady told me that I should just worry about my BMI. So I know that wasn't the greatest answer. Oh well. I guess I have to wait a few months before I see my normal Doctor I will ask him. I was hoping to get some good information on my weight loss, but yeah I didn't think she was up for it.

I shifted my focus away from competitive powerlifting this year to get more serious with boxing. I'm currently weighing 207 lbs, down from 223 in January. All I've had to do was NOT spend so much effort eating to keep that heavy weight up, so far, and I feel like I have my life back by not spending so much time eating.

Eventually I'll come to a point where I need to put more concerted effort in reducing my carbohydrates further, although I never go so low I'm doing keto or even carnivore.

I also get 1 cheat day a week to fill out on carb-supplied glycogen and keep testosterone levels high from the calorie surge. It's always neat that those are the days where my physique looks best.

I was not aware this was a thing. I'll be doing some research now

Weekly weigh in:
I very much half assed the beginning of going back on my cut. Scale says I'm down 3 lbs, but with the amount of water weight I'm carrying and my cutting history, thats probably like .25 of a lb of real actual weight. It's in the right direction, but typically that first week gives me that huge psychological boost.

I have lost around 4 pounds since that last weigh in. That is not my goal to lose that fast. But I have really been sick over the past few days. Yesterday I was so sick that in could not eat. Like I was too worn out to put food in my mouth. I really shouldn't have been on the road that day come to think of it. Anywho the Wii was worried about me too. If I can't eat today I will go to the doctor. I have to fix my turtle tank and I been too worn out to do it. So if not for me for them.
