Your support has been a tremendous source of motivation for me in my weight loss journey. Should circumstances prevent my return, know that my weight stands at 189 well, really 190 but Im determined to break into the 180 club before I go. This past month, the scale hasnt shown significant movement, but Ive shed over 10 pounds of fat and built 4 pounds of muscle. Kudos to each of you for the dedication and hard work youve invested.

damn, man. whatever happened, looks like you only got off with a warning. so we'll be hearing from you again soon. but yeah the rules on this board have become draconian. i would advise everyone to show considerable more restraint and self censorship than we are all used to showing if we want to stay a part of this community. it kinda sucks, but i guess that's the way it is. i am also grateful to you and to everyone who has contributed to these topics and helped to keep us all motivated and accountable.

Ive decided to take a step back from discussing controversial topics for the time being. I made one hot topic post just out of habit, But now I'm laying low until things settle down. In the meantime, my focus will be on lighter subjects: Foxgirls, wrestling, and particularly, weight loss. On that note, Ive got an exercise bike! My goal still to do that half marathon, and Im aware that I need to start conditioning my body now. Unfortunately, my feet are not in the best shape, which means running is off the table for the moment. Therefore, Ill be using the bike as my primary training tool for the next few months. Once I feel more prepared, Ill introduce running into my routine, starting with once a week to gauge how it feels. Aside from that, the bike will be my go-to for cardio workouts. With my boxing. My plan is this. Weight lifting Days. Do y lifting in the AM and Boxing at the end of the day. Days that I don't lift, hit that bike in the AM then boxing at night. And in between all that find time to do my work, and my school work, and take care of my cold blooded friends.

I've started to work on my pectorals to really fill out a triangle type shape. I do chest flies lying down on the ground as well as bench press... uh, lying down I guess?

I use 18 pound dumbbells for the chest flies and sheesh, I feel it for a couple days afterwards.

This means you're doing them right, which is an issue a lot of people have with flys. You can go through the movement wrong and overly rely on your delts. You'll move more weight, but you'll jack up your shoulders and not get the chest workout you're looking for. So, you're definitely on the correct path here at least.

Magic get a great win at home, I know I'll have something to ride to on Friday. I was gonna ride outside but it started raining. Gotta lift weights instead and walk. Strava is accusing me of taking it easy this week, even after a 50K ride

My first in door bike ride. I seem to spend less calories then I do when I box. And today I couldn't go for too long before my butt started to hurt. But I think mixing things up will help. I been getting bored of boxing. So adding this a few days a week could help with that. And I can watch TV. What was this pro gram that goes with in door biking. Like zippy or something with a z.

Yeah I was the protest one.. another poster got hit just like me too. Sarcasm is the only place you can go some times.

196.8 this morning, down from 197.2. it just keeps going down. feels great!

i need to get to my workout today. i was going to do that yesterday but i just didn't get around to it. planning on making some oatmeal for breakfast, probably with blueberries, crushed walnuts, and cinnamon, then probably doing a can of tuna with some Pace Picante for an after workout protein fix, and i'm gonna treat myself to some Dominos pizza for dinner because this is the last day a special deal is valid for a large 2 topping carryout for like 6 bucks.

Zwift is the program that goes with riding. If you get that you may want to get Strava as well. They aren't free, unfortunately

The key to protecting your jewels when riding is to stand up every ten minutes, increase the resistance, and climb for 2 to 3 minutes. You'll produce a lot more power (watts) but you will be pedaling at a lower cadence (RPMs) it helps the blood circulate to your and through your legs. If you feel numbness, that's a bad thing. Stand up for a bit.

Zwift best asset is its training programs and data. Races against others are always available. You can ride routes you've ridden before and race your past self.

And then you have group rides where a robotic pacer rides and certain pace and you try to stay with it through the duration of your ride. Very challenging as you move up through the classes.

You'll still have to lift weights and do cardio because the bike supports your weight and isn't exactly a weight-bearing exercise. But it's great for your heart and vascular system.

A beautiful set-up. I'll post my gym on page 1 of the new topic. Going on four years since I first built it.

In the last 16 hours.
8 sets of 5 Snatch Grip Deadlift - 235lbs
2 sets of 20 Squat - 185lbs
3 mile walk playing 2K on the Treadmill early this morning
2 mile jog after work

Back is stiff but feels way better post-run. Supposed to do bench, pull-ups, presses and the rowing machine while watching the Lightning-Panthers hockey game but I dunno. Zzzs are important for sure

196.6 this morning, down from 197.2 yesterday. i still can't believe how consistently the numbers on the scale have been going down lately. this time last month, i was 202.6. i'm finally getting a handle on my eating habits again. i've drastically cut down on sweets, and portion sizes even of healthier foods. i've been consistently maintaining a caloric deficit, while getting a good amount of protein, and achieving progressive overload in my workouts and feeling my muscle definition increasing. on my last workout on Sunday, i went up in reps on almost all of my upper body exercises. i'm really feeling the DOMS this morning lol.

They are adjustable, so I just need to get more plates. I have some but they are not shown, in the picture. The fancy adjustable ones are cost way too much.

Getting hard to ride in the afternoon. My outdoor cycling season may be wrapping up. Mornings and evenings are too dangerous to ride.

4 mile walk early this morning playing 2K. Gonna try to complete a 40 game season by the end of Q2. Averaging 2 miles a game.

Added 20lbs to my standard bench and Im now bench pressing 125lbs for 5 sets of 21

Still snatch grip deadlifting 235lbs for 10 sets of 5 and squatting 185lbs for 2 sets of 20. Like the development of my arms and traps. CNS feels awesome. Working to complete all lifts over the course of 2 hours.

I probably now have to ride bikes outside less because of the heat. I'll probably start racing virtually when it's cool at night. What lifts would you add to my program if I did all of this in one day? Can only lift 2x a week because of my cardio schedule but I have plenty of juice. Normally I would box but its a bit too hot to do that outside too. Pools are a little crowded due to the heat wave.

Would an hour of rowing on my machine be all I need to be balanced from a strength standpoint? Maybe pull ups?

And yes, user cjsdowg I would consider a pull up bar or trap bar, depending on your goals. Generally you should be doing pull ups if you do shoulder presses.

Youre doing great, but Id suggest adding some shoulder exercises to your routine.

Consider incorporating the Overhead Press and Incline Shoulder Press. Although Im not a fan of them due to my limited range of motion, if youre able to, try doing Lateral Raises as well. These exercises will work various parts of your deltoids and contribute to that strong, powerful appearance.

Regarding pull-ups, Ive struggled with them most of my life due to my weight, so Im not certain about including them. Have you thought about mixing up your cardio and weightlifting? Im a big fan of cardio and do it daily, but weightlifting can be more beneficial if you have to choose between the two. Perhaps consider cutting back on one cardio session and adding another day of weightlifting.

Despite the current dislike for them, you might want to try a bro split in your workout.

Out of curiosity, what's with the sets of 21? It's not wrong, but you can likely get similar results with higher weight/fewer reps. If you're trying shave time off of your routine, that would help a bit.

Anyway, as mentioned I'd throw in overhead press and maybe rows of some kind. I also at one point attempted to use a rowing machine for back exercises. It works, but I got better results from traditional lifts. I do love a row machine for idle cardio though.

Then you'd hit everything pretty much. It's hard af to train cardio hard while also training lifting imo. So good luck to you on that one.

Also, if you're looking to shave time off your routine I'd recommend the rest-pause sets. It's still being studied to see if it's as effective as normal sets, but things look promising. It at least seems to be in the same ballpark. It definitely shaves a lot of time off of a routine

It's due to safety issues. I can lift a lot more than I do at home but I avoid it because I'd like to be able to get the weight off me if I fail and I lift alone. Same for legs when I deadlift and squat. My lifts are about 50-60% of my 1RM.

5 sets of 21 get you to 100 reps of a light weight and that helps you aesthetically, you get a serious pump even though it's not best for strength. I just kind of came up with it.

My old home program used to be.
5 sets of 21 bench
5 sets of 10 pull-ups
5 sets of 20 bent over rows (50-75lbs)
5 sets of 10 hang cleans-to-shoulder presses (same weight)

I used to do it as a circuit, one set of each one before moving on to set 2.

Trying to get back there in terms of volume. you can see it's a ton of volume for the glamour muscles at a lighter weight but if failure happens a spotter isn't really needed. To your point, it doesn't compare to a real gym workout in the slightest, but it's a pretty complete upper body program.

Rest-Pause sets are great. After reading how they work I can do them for legs and presses at the least.

The reason I don't switch to dumbbells is because of the investment I've already made toward standard and olympic plates. They're great I just use equipment I've already bought.

Magic played a really good game to ride 50KM to. This was also my 50th Ride of the NBA season. I'm jealous of you guys that are steadily losing weight. 249 right now with a goal of 239 by 6/30 of this year.

Not being able to ride outdoors as much + good weight lifting + Not meeting my walking/running goals + The Magic playing fewer games per week leading to fewer indoor rides + GF trying new restaurants after our regular place shut down + an unhealthy relationship with alcohol during this Magic series + being "separated" from my GF due to medical junk that's my fault has me consistently gaining weight despite getting good activity.

From an Exercise Programming standpoint, I'm at a really exciting time. I'll have to change up my program and set new goals once the basketball season ends. I plan on racing more virtually and in real life so I'll need to increase my strength and speed along with my aerobic fitness. Probably will do sprints and high-intensity cardio along with heavier weights. Normally I avoid this to avoid injury risk but for 3 months, I think it will be perfect. Looking forward to rowing and boxing more too.

I was able to stay on the bike for 15 minutes. I could have done longer but I hope one right after a hour a boxing.

So I see my doctor on Wednesday. I have game going to chart my workout and eatings . He isn't my favorite doctor so I want to show up as slim as I can to be like what you go to say now. So I lose this weight my heart is still a mess show fix me.
