Today we have the evolved regional variants, saving the brand new pokemon introduced in Legends Arceus for tomorrow. Most of yesterday's lines are back, along with the starters, Lilligant, Braviary and Avalugg.

A lot of these are disappointing to me, unfortunately. Decidueye is a big downgrade. Avalugg is just really awkward looking. I was hoping for something more from Electrode.

Like Sliggoo, Goodra hiding in its shell is great. Zoroark is way better than it's original form.

I haven't played Legends so my guess on the typings (I remember doing this for gen 2 and thinking Corsola was a ditto evolution.)

Electrode- Rock (or Ground)
Typhlosion- Fire/ghost
Sammurot- Water/dark
Lilligant- Grass/fairy
Zoroark- Fairy/normal? (no clue on this one)
Bravary- Flying (just flying)
Goodra- Dragon/Fairy
Avalugg- Ice/rock (or Ice/Steel, it kind of looks like all three types)
Deciduieye- Flying/Fighting

Hisuian Lilligant is the worst Pokemon ever made.

Arcanine. Not a huge fan of any of these, a lot of these are great examples of making designs too busy.

Zoroark, but I'm a fan of Arcanine and I used Goodra in my PLA team and enjoyed it

As a fan of normal Goodra Hisuian Goodra just looks awkward, I dunno. That one drops the ball for me

I very much dislike this change their skin thing Pokmon is doing and dont think they should be counted as separate Pokmon officially

But I am digging that Zoroark.

Much better than their pre-evolutions tbh, especially Arcanine. Arcanine barely scrapes by Zoroark for me.

I was excited for Fire/Ghost, but Typhlosion's moveset is shit

I don't really like any of these very much, but Zoroark and Goodra are okay.

I'm becoming really overwhelmed by regional variants, regional variant-specific evolutions, Pokemon introduced in side games/spin-offs, and Pokemon that are literally not usable in any mainline game yet. I think the series has very much jumped the shark and my OCD is very much okay with me having fallen out of love with it around the time S/M were released.

That being said, some of them look kinda cool. I voted Electrode.

I think I didn't know that Arcanine's typing until some time after I had one.

But I think Goodra was a fixture because of the really strong typing and defense/evasion buff. Evasion actually counts in PLA because absolutely everything is potentially a sweeping threat.

I like the Typhlosion.

Not sure any of these are better than the original, except Zoroark, so that. Typing finally happened. Goodra might also be an improvement.

Avalugg's stats were already terrible for being the weakest defensive monotype and then they literally give it rock to make it have the worst defensive dual type combination.

Well I'm out of step with the majority today, I don't like H-Zoroark or H-Typhlosion! I like the idea of Ghostphlosion and the little wisps around its neck look cool, but its face is weird and below the neck it looks very bland and empty. The gen 2 starters suffer from being underdesigned IMO and H-Typh looks worse without the flames going all the way down.

I actually like Avalugg here (though a sad lol at it being the worst type combo for defence), Samurott is my fav of the starters but isn't all that different from regular form, and Arcanine is good.

I like most of the H-pokemon. But some of them get a huge boost when looking at the shinies as well as the normal ones.

Braviary being a prime example. The white with the weird eye things is cool. But the black with electric blue just hits different.

Yeah it's a lot, I like this page for breaking it down: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/List_of_cross-generational_evolution_families - but it includes stuff like Pichu -Pikachu which I dont have a problem with, as they don't have a form of an existing pokemon and werent introduced in spin-offs

Legends really was all over the place in how they added new Pokemon and forms. You had:
