Amazon saying how bad BMI is as a health indicator is hypocritical, at the least. BMI is a tool for screening and population level measurements. It would be slightly better to use height-weight percentile data by age for men and women separately, but (sad as it is) that's too complicated for most people compared to a single number calculated the same for everyone. My BMI is in the overweight category. My doctors see me in person and know that fat loss isn't a concern for my health. If I had tried to get an early covid vaccine because of my BMI, they rightly should have laughed me out of the clinic. --- Take me for what I am -- who I was meant to be.
