Weight of the World
Love Scope
Laguerra del Mundo

NieR: Automata - Weight of the World (Japanese) at RANKING SPOILERS is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! emotionalvocal.mp3

SOUND VOLTEX VIVID WAVE - Sudden Visitor at is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! SDVX songs tend to be more obnoxious than I'd prefer. This one isn't so bad though the first half still touches on that. The retraux section in the middle doesn't really do it for me. This whole song doesn't really do it for me. The last third just makes me want to listen to Pac Twin Attack

Aurora Memoria - Classroom at 8.8 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! telephone noises. While I was listening to this they were having a discussion in #board-8 about the Pledge of Allegiance. Wish this played in the morning instead of that.

The Caligula Effect: Overdose - Love Scope at 9.6 is my ???th favorite song in the contest!! While I was listening to this they were having a discussion in #board-8 about the US National Anthm. I mentioned that people singing it well is largely the basis of my most-destested genre of music: songs with no (or a very mellow, usually piano) backing that clearly exist so that the singer can show just how TALENTED they are. Songs sung emotionally so that you know that the singer is skilled enough to sing emotionally. It's nauseating and aggravating. The singer of this song is extremely emotional and is clearly trying very hard.

This song is very much not the genre I described. She genuinely sounds like she's pouring her entire heart and soul into the song. Holy shit it's phenomenal. THE VOICE CRACKS! The instrumental is pretty good but nothing to write home about; is entirely selling it. I definately prefer this to Onboro, and the vocals are a big part. It's kind of weird seeing how a vocaloid artist composed it, because this song would not work with vocaloids in the absolute slightest (weirdly, I think in some ways I dislike vocaloid for almost similar reasons to that genre above, but that's not a topic for this).

Fuck I didn't expect to rate this this high but I keep thinking it's better than almost every song I compare it to. Sorry Aurora Memoria.

Granado Espada - Laguerra del Mundo at RANKING SPOILERS is my ???th favorite retiree in the contest!! aw damn you trdl23

Final Fantasy X - Someday the Dream Will End at 9.8 is my ???th favorite retiree in the contest!! An incredible, if basic, rendition of the overarching motif of my favorite game. I was pretty disappointed when I saw it retired the year before I started doing VGMC since this was the first song I thought of nominating. Nothing really needs to be said about this. I don't think I've subjecting people to my harmonic rendition; if I have, I apologize.

Another extraordinarily powerful ToC match. Why did you group all of my favorite songs together like this?

Weight of the World / Kowareta Sekai no Uta (110th) vs Sudden Visitor (29th)
Classroom (45th) vs Love Scope (97th)
Laguerra del Mundo [46th] vs Someday the Dream Will End [51st]

This is not the kind of Nier song that I'm used to hearing!! I'm not familiar with all of the variations of Weight of the World like... at ALL, so I can't really compare this version to the others but I like this one quite a bit!! The Drakengard/Nier infatuation with whispering underneath vocals is something that you don't really find anywhere else, or at least I seem to only associate it with vocal songs from this series lol. Just another really solid song in a very unfortunate matchup cause Sudden Visitor and Chroma know exactly what I want to hear! Heavy, heavy pounding sidechainy bass psykicks with Chroma signature smoothly sharp melody synths but played in a way thats rather atypical for Chroma is soooo gooooood the little break 1:09 to 1:19 like is this actually sound voltex??? songs in this game are allowed to be chill for just a sec???? and then the end brings back in the windows popup synths i love so much god this song is just so cool chroma please do more straight up psytrance stuff thank uoub kuro ma

Classroom is so cool!!! One of the things I'm happiest taking away from BOST5 is the Aurora Memoria soundtrack in general, and Classroom is one of my favorite songs that I was introduced to! Any time I can describe a song as "a simulation of a namiki and yack collab song" means that it is doing something totally, totally right. and then it decides to get all sonic cd for a bit at 1:16 like whoooOOOOOAA very very cool song!!! Love Scope is ALSO cool but not as cool :( I like the vocals way more than the instrumentals, which is where this song gets separated from other Caligula affair where I love love love both elements (like Cradle and [a song]_ but yeah still pretty good!! Good matches today I love all four songs here!!

Did I say four I meant I love all six songs today!! Just the ToC ones I somehow love a lot less than the main matches. I actually saw a lot more in Laguerra back in VGMC12 than I do now; it still sounds really, really cool but what used to stand out to me is just "oh really cool guitar and strings interactions nice!!" and then 2:56 happens and i :o . Looking back at the VGMC12 bracket I realize I... would not have voted for it in any of the matches it played nowadays lol (pretty sure I voted for it against neo kobe and maybe true hero?? and also maybe besaid FINAL FANTASY X a fleeting dream will someday end is pretty cool! Far from my favorite the game has to offer.... like, super SUPER far from it but I love the background whoosh-like sounds that start at 0:25 and persist but the songs just a little too slow for me to just listen to and like most of the time. suteki da ne motif usage very good. idk man somehow i'm feeling laguerra a little bit more today, normally i think i would actually vote against my rankings here? huh. well, guess this is where we're at

guess my mood is closer to "psytrance drums" than "sad" right now
second mach is kinda rude but Love Scope goes far too hard for it to be close
LdM is better than I remember but then again my issue with it is that it's not memorable despite having really cool instruments

Weight of the World (.jp)
Classroom
Laguerra del Mundo

Weight of the world: the singer breaking down on the final chorus gets me every time. Like I'm literally crying writing this. It's why .jp is the best version, no matter what anyone else says.

Sudden Visitor sounds like rhythm music for the first half. Then it's interesting for about 10 seconds before ruining it with a giant overwhelming drum. Then it becomes Super Hook Girl-esque and I'm intrigued but not quite intrigued enough.

I have spent enough time in classrooms for a lifetime tyvm. Also hi Mycro. This is pretty cool, it feels jazzy and almost regular for a Mycro-style 'do.

Love Scope is... I have no idea what makes me like multi-layered stuff sometimes, and other times shrug it away. Like I can hear things here that I feel like I should like, but it just doesn't click. Maybe it's the lack of space? *shrug*.

this isn't french you can't just combine articles with their nouns like this I'm calling the royal spanish academy on you (ooooooooooooooooh)

the dream ended when it retired wake up already. (okay that's mean I like the piece but~)

(Also, for the poll: i'll support literally anything but i do like languages i know but I have made efforts to figure out the meaning to e.g. songs in Russian that I like so *shrug*)

Sudden Visitor
Love Scope
Laguerra del Mundo

Better than the English version. Still not as good as the credits version. Not a fan of the way her voice breaks down at the end. SV starts kinda slow for an SV song, but then it really SVs it up in the last third which is great. Closer match than I expected at first.

Classroom's a solid song. Neither bad nor awesome. Love Scope is awesome, though I think I like Onboro just a little better. I love the modulation her voice does in the chorus. Huge fan of the way her voice breaks down at the end.

LdM is very good. Not the best GE song we've had in the contests, but definitely one of the best. StDWE is definitely the worst Final Fantasy song we've had in the contests.

Great day other than StDWE!

Weight of the World (Japanese)
Love Scope
Laguerra del Mundo

I've frequently expressed a preference for uptempo songs in VGMC. But perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I'm far more critical of downtempo songs. Anything less than phenomenal, and I probably won't like them that much. Weight of the World is phenomenal. I'm listening to it to the end even though I've pretty much already decided to vote for it without even hearing its opponent. Which usually means that said opponent is about to blow me away even more! ...Except I'm not sure how that'd be possible. When I said I wasn't too worried about another bad retiree after yesterday's crapfest, I had no idea just how strong a song I was about to hear!

Sudden Visitor is, as expected, a good song. Feels like it's been a while since I've had a match where I liked exactly one song; most of them have either been two good songs or two bad ones. That said, this isn't close.

Feels like it's been a while since I've had a day where I didn't uniformly consider all the songs to be either good or bad, I mean. Holy crap this is good! I'm pretty sure I liked Laguerra del Mundo so we're probably not headed for a day where the ToC songs are 5-6, but I'm already pretty sure Someday the Dream Will End is headed for #6.

Yep, I was right. This is not on the level of the rest of the day. Pretty sure this one falls into...never mind. This one shot from #5 to #2 in an instant, because I'm a slave to nostalgia and this is basically an anime theme song, the type I'd have been watching/listening to in college. I may be embarrassed by 13-to-16-year-old me, as I stated a couple days ago, but 19-to-21-year-old me is still cool in my book. *thinks about a nostalgia blast in a recent topic* Yep, stand by that assessment, since I'm pretty sure that that particular fondness bypasses "13-16" completely and goes all the way down to 11-12--I mean 12, just 12, we can't be going back on 11 being a horrible age just yet. (Actually, I know for a fact that it's 11-12, because it was middle school, and I started high school when I was still 12.)

I, um, stand corrected? I mean, this is damn good, too, but...I'm not sure it beats out any of the four songs in the main bracket? Again, sounds just a tad too Sonic Heroes for my current tastes.

And, yep, typical Final Fantasy yawnathon. Bye Felicia.

Weight of the World (Japanese)
Love Scope
Someday the Dream Will End

Weight of the World (Japanese) vs Sudden Visitor: Weight of the World is nice. Its sad credits music but I guess I can vibe to that today. Nothing stuck out about this song at all but its still nice to listen to. English version isn't much better either. Sudden Visitor had be going YOOOOOOOOO for the first few seconds and then immediately after all hype was lost. The rest of the song was pretty mediocre for me, just felt like the usual rhythm game stuff I'm not a fan of.

Classroom vs Love Scope: Looks like this is gonna be an all caps write up. BRUH WHY IS CLASSROOM SO FUNKY WTF. THE VIBE ON THIS IS SUBLIME I LOVE IT. Ok maybe this won't be an all caps write up after all but wow this song is great. Next up is... NAH NEVERMIND WE'RE GOING BACK TO ALL CAPS FOR THIS. LOVE SCOPE DON'T MISS. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS TRACK GOES HARD AF ITS AN ACTUAL BANGER ALL THE WAY. I ASCENDED WHEN I LISTENED TO EVERYTHING PAST THE ONE MINUTE MARK. AND THAT PART AT 2:45 YOU PEOPLE ARE GOING TO KILL ME WITH THIS TRACK. So yeah this was a pretty good match up. I need to stop listening to Love Scope and get to the next match up.

Laguerra del Mundo vs Someday the Dream Will End: Ok after flushing Love Scope out of my system its time for the next match up. Laguerra is very good. Its got that cool guitar going for it which I like. Then it goes to the piano and I'm like woah and then the guitar comes back and I'm like YOOOOOOOO and thats the song. Its cool I liked it. But then we got Someday the Dream Will End which was probably one of my favorite FF songs so yeah this one is getting the vote. After listening to the song for almost an hour on loop while working on the VGMGG Mafia Game it grew on me hard. Very solid track and almost makes me want to play a FF game. Almost.

Sudden Visitor
Classroom
Laguerra del Mundo

Whoops, I was a dummy and lost my write up when it was almost completed, oh no. Meanwhile none of these matches were particularly close. Weight of the world more like wait of the world the song is 5 and three quarters minutes long got em. The song starts off with a cool mysterious air to it, but when the vocals start not only do I predictably not like the vocals but the genre switches from cool mystery to "pleasant relaxation" man heck that I'd probably be more relaxed listening to demon truck. On the other hand Sudden Visitor is just all around great techno stuff, although nothing about it ever puts things over the top. I mean the song also has it's fair share of things I don't really care for like that "dance" synth isn't my preference and there's that tiny whisper but really I'd listen to this over weight of the world any day. Pretty good usage of repetition in it too.

When I saw Classroom in nominations while like quickly skimmed through I thought "why'd it have to be this it has vocals" but really that's such a tiny part it's like a sound effect, if still unwanted. Aurora Memoria is really fun digital sounds with good variety in stuff and this song is no different, it's really great. Man in my favorites bracket I put Sudden Visitor over this no that's not right this song's much better. Other song in this match here is in my rank songs thing which IS COMING I SWEAR but this means I don't have to talk about it right now good. Well actually it's a different version I guess, the vocals are different. Wonder why.

Laguerra Del Mundo feels like big disappointment. The song starts off setting the mood with a Really nice surreal atmosphere, and then it just quickly transitions into an attention seeking electric guitar that does nothing of worth for me and just muddys everything up. The song does recover afterwards but it also doesn't get back to the level that the intro forecast. What A Shame. Meanwhile however the song it's up against is just all around unpleasant to me. When I say I don't like "moodysad" this song is an example of what moodysad means. ick, no thanks.

Sudden Visitor
Classroom
Laguerra del Mundo

Weight of the World (Japanese) is my 143rd favorite in the contest! despite my recent turnaround on deciding i actually love nier music, this track isn't one that stands out me much in particular. its pretty straightforward compared to other nier stuff though i dont dislike it for that, it just doesn't do the stuff i like about this game's music i guess. still some cool stuff to like, the beginning (and i guess percussion layers throughout) has nice really vast punchy echoy feeling space i really dig, actually almost "80s" lol, gated reverb and all that stuff. unexpected chord change at 1:12's really uplifting and i love that. overall it's pretty and nice and i like the vibe it sets but it doesn't leave a lasting strong impression or emotion on me

Sudden Visitor is my 127th favorite in the contest! big chord blocks like whoooaoa cool filling the space between the constant 16th gaps, cool! cool chords! fancy in-your-face RHYTHM GAME sound. I like this less when it's the fast four-on-the-floor kick parts but not because i dislike that in itself (as much as i complain about fast-paced simple stuff sometimes), but more the cooler production effects and stuff happen when it's more jittery and not cycling through a pattern with a repetition multiple times a second. i wish the breakbeat elements that are there for like 1 second happened for more than one second

close match i guess?

||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Classroom is my 15th favorite in the contest! I talked about how much I love DV-i enough during BOST but yeah i consistently love DV-i's style, one of my absolute favorite composers. Favorite instrumentation in the world is the exact set of digital sample-based glassy/futuristic 90s rompler synths he's attracted to and also all the crazy FM stuff that fills up the space all over the place in this stuff too. The way this fills empty space with so many different cool sounding things, so hocketed and funky in a mechanical futuristic way like this makes me think of MARS MAZE from JOURNEYMAN PROJECT. every chord is a cool thick one with lots of close together pitch classes(haha class room) so it sounds like "yasuhisa watanabe" I love this video game SOUNDTRA. Cool chords! (2) Basically every DV-i song is 9.9/10, including this one!! THis is so fun!!!!!!!! When it comes to dvi music i basically find myself just listing literally every single moment of the song as "one of my favorite parts of the song" so to prevent this writeup from becoming the entire post just listing why every timestamp makes me explode I will point out the moment that stood out the most to me this specific time around of listening: ironically the really calm part at 2:18-2:55 the radio-like voices in the background, the flute-like patch coming in at 2:33, and how the sudden decrease in stimulation brings out how cool all the percussive backing has been the entire time with more space to focus on it being given....and then the drilling drum stutter to cap it off right at the end of that section!!!! Such a good ENERGY LEVEL FLUCTUATION. I'm glad to have finally gotten this in this year, I'd been wanting to since a while now! I hope it does well : ) but if not...that's okay too! At least many people have been introduced to this wonderful music who may enjoy it!

Love Scope is my 171st favorite in the contest! oh no the snare drum is too fast and the guitar doesnot sound like it's playing any notes so i don't like it. :45's kinda echoy feeling guitar layer is cool! this isn't really my kind of tonality. mixed in a way that just makes me sad because i can't hear the parts of the song that sound like they'd be the most interesting to focus on. lots of the fast background synth stuff sounds like it'd be cool if i could hear what it even sounded like but i'm barely able to even be aware it's there because everything else is drowning it out! i don't have much positive to say and i don't like being mean to songs i do not like so i will NOT be mean to the song

why are there so many REALLY EASY matches for me in this part of the contest

||||||||||||||||||||||||||

Laguerra del Mundo is my 39th favorite in the contest! i never really shared the enthusiasm for this track but when it's playing i'm never bored either. It's fun and dramatic and sounds like sonic heroes and also has the DESTINy moments where it gets the natural 6th instead of the flat 6 so it is ""dorian"" isntead of minor for 2 seconds and thats EPIC

Someday the Dream Will End is my 43rd favorite in the contest! I used to be really really harsh on this song because I uniformly expressed "I don't like slow, simple song" as my whole identity because i tended to like fast things and thiis is the "opposite" of that, but now that is not how i think and instead i get mad at fast music more often (and tend to conflict with people who's preferences are so centric around a fast pace) hmmmmmmmmmmmm. in hindsight i now realize that because of the sound at like :25 that Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 SAd Music is probably all copying this song and also Theme of Lancelot from Thousand Memories even though that song is fast hahahah Keisuke Ito you're the funny clever final fantasy x referencer. there's some fairly emotionally effective to me moments in this that are nice and the chords are way cooler than I remember, though i think the melody line itself is extremely boring and that brings this down a ton. I VERY strongly prefer Hamauzu/Nakano (and basically every non-uematsu composer involved in final fantasy series...sakimoto...M.Suzuki, mizuta..Noriko Matsueda, hayato matsuo.....COMPOSERS) over Uematsu, and one of the reasons is usually "everyone else uses 'cool chords' and uematsu doesn't" but this track actually kinda feels like he's imitating Hamauzu's "cool chords" style now that I think about it? there's a few moments with this big cool string chord blocks like what comes in at :44, feels very hamauzu. Interesting! but I like ffx's soundtrack and this is definitely not representative of why i'm a fan and would probably rank near last if i ranked the ost. basically the stuff I love about FFX's ost is hamauzu/nakano's tracks, and then seymour battle's the one uematsu one i love, this is really just "ok, better than i remember"

close match and i can imagine flipping

where is every fake language and also engrish in the poll

feels like an oversight to exclude a nier specialty there even if it isn't an example of it

Sudden Visitor
Classroom
Someday the Dream Will End

weight of the world sure is an apt description for that extremely melodramatic song that isn't actually remotely emotional. almost gave it a pass though until the forced voice cracking
sudden visitor is not even my favourite song from the last couple of years called sudden visitor but it is still a chroma song and chroma songs are good so this is an easy decision. would love to see some particular other chroma representation in the future like black emperor or crazy cinema story or maybe even akisame junjouka (though it definitely isn't as good in-game...)

classroom is cool neat stuff. i like it, it does quite a few things and meshes them together into something i definitely think i like
love scope is a very... certain anime genre type of song that really just serves as a reminder that it is of that designation ultimately. I suppose it would be very unfair of me of all people to disregard it for that reason, but it's also just generally not what i want to hear from it for the most part, sadly. and this is specifically why i knocked it in a past comment some may remember, so yeah. no hard feelings

laguerra is a very there song. but not a bad there song, it's in a good place to be "there", you know? windows production but rather noticeably high level for it. it works. it doesn't always work in matches as far as winning me over goes, but in its own right, it's not really all that bad
aaaaaaaahhhh i kind of actually managed to forget that someday the dream will end is capable of hitting pretty hard at the right time. i thought this might actually be a match i'd take laguerra in but unfortunately nah.........

not actually a bad day today so much as just a somewhat rare "some of these songs are for me and some of them aren't, but i don't actually dislike them" one

That's because it (partly) is Hamauzu. This piece was arranged by him.

i enjoy sudden visitor and classroom. weight of the world has a heavy amount of nostalgia and emotion to it. i love the sound design of someday the dream will end and it has that same weight of nostalgic emotion. laguerra del mundo and love scope are both pretty good too.

NieR: Automata - Weight of the World (Japanese)
The Caligula Effect: Overdose - Love Scope
Granado Espada - Laguerra del Mundo

Match 1: Huh, the JP version of Weight of the World actually does sound quite a bit different from the ENG version. Sudden Visitor is more High-Pitched Super-Fast Rhythm Music which isn't bad but we do see a lot of it. Even though I generally have a preference for high tempo stuff, I'm going against my faves bracket pick and voting WotW because it feels like it has more soul.

Match 2: I'm kinda with dowolf on Classroom. A lot of DV-i's stuff is really cool (spoilers for ranking?? probably not but DigiFamily is still the best one I've heard), but I'm not as enthusiastic about some others (although this one is in the better half, still around a 7/10). I'm not even entirely myself sure why I like some so much more than others . Love Scope is more of the high energy I was looking for than the song in the last match. Pretty close match either way and I could see myself voting the other way pretty easily too. Also is it just me or does the girl in the video thumbnail look like she could be a Nier protagonist?

ToC: LdM has always been a very solid VGMC pick, one of those that while I haven't supported in nominations, I've generally given it my vote when it came down to matchtime. This is one of the first songs that pop to mind when I think of azuarc's and NFUN's taste in VGM. Someday the Dream Will End ironically enough puts me to sle

Other song in this match here is in my rank songs thing which IS COMING I SWEAR but this means I don't have to talk about it right now good. Well actually it's a different version I guess, the vocals are different. Wonder why.
There's a few (4, but 1 of those is just the instrumental) versions of Love Scope (well at least one more if you count extra not-game material) but I'm guessing you mean the ThornRemix version of it? There are plot reasons for why it's different that if you're interested I can explain. Major Caligula Effect Overdose Spoilers: Basically the conceit of the game is that somehow vocaloids can pull you into an escapist shared dreamworld if you want to escape reality. All the songs sung by the vocaloid can do this because i dunno vocaloids are magic. However, the songs she sings are pulled from the psyches of certain people, Love Scope being one of them. Eventually a bunch of plot happens and a number of those folks rethink the idea of pulling and trapping people in this world. To get them back in line, Thorn - the primary antagonist - brainwashes them back into supporting the goal and when you face the brainwashed people their song is all altered and a lot more chaotic with static or beeping and such.

CHANGING MY VOTE TO:
Someday the Dream Will End

re-listened because i knew the match was close and i was uncertain on my feelings. in the end, someday the dream will end represents what i used to hate, but no longer hate, so it's very difficult for me to conceptualize the fact that I prefer it over Laguerra del Mundo now, and that past reaction of aversion keeps clouding my perception. I don't love someday the dream will end and the match is close, but my tastes have changed significantly since when it was last in these contests, and i have to remember that past reactions don't represent my reactions now. i think this track is alright now, still find the melody really weak...it keeps returning to the same places too quickly and feels trapped in a kinda narrow range of ideas that prevents it from being as emotional as i'm hoping for it to get. but the overall "Through the Sea of Time - (Pokmon Mystery Dungeon - Explorers of Sky)" vibe is significantly more my thing than what Laguerra del Mundo is, so it's enough to push it above and get my vote. the backing behind the melody is strong and i like the instrumentation and emotion expressed overall, even if it isn't my favorite execution of something like this

Tada kimi to no mirai WOOOOOOOO (continues singing with tears and makeup running down their face)

Laguerra is a slightly less cool Two Dragons, funny that Mycro mentioned Through the Sea of Time for its opponent because I thought of Tree of Life Roots

emotionally draining day, if it was weight of the world english I'd probably be collapsing onto the floor

Weight of the World (Japanese)
Classroom
Someday the Dream Will End

-one thing about this take on weight of the world is that Marina Kawano hits notes very straight-on; J'Nique Nicole's take in the english version slides into notes a bit more and adds a moment of delay for emphasis, and generally goes with a bit more vocal flourish. I think I prefer the english version overall. (Emi Evans's take uses slightly different instrumentation that I don't like as much, and I think her vocal performance here feels a bit emotionally lighter, in contrast to how she handled Ashes of Dreams.) Kawano's voice breaking on the last repetition of the chorus feels genuine but I don't feel affected as much as it asks me to.
-it's still a nice song, though. I find that both this and ashes of dreams I like more than I'd normally expect them to given their overall composition. there's something about them that clicks for me as a whole. I think this is true for me of a lot of NieR series music.
-sudden visitor kinda does the opposite for me-- there are a few individual parts to this I think 'hey, pretty cool'. I can point them out pretty quickly, even-- brief glimpses of the breakbeat that shows up in the section after the intro, the sound effect starting at 0:29 that kinda reminds me of shattered glass reforming, the hit at 1:03, the background of 1:08, a couple of chords in the progression starting at 1:35. (there are some parts that aggravate me as well, such as the exaggerated sidechaining at 0:33.) I care less about this as a whole, though. it repeats itself more than it seems, and the windows into something more interesting close just as quickly as they open.

-classroom lays out a nice vibe, but it actually catches my attention the most when the vibe drops out at 2:18. this part is real cool, full of shimmering echoes and a serenity that makes me think of an empty classroom at the end of day (you know, where the light of the sunset is shining through the open window and casting shadows on the chairs and desks-- a classic anime backdrop). then we're back to the bustle of the next day! it's like the auditory equivalent of watching a timelapse of a classroom. but those moments of quiet-- in a classroom, and in music-- make you appreciate their active moments more.
-love scope's vocalist affects this somewhat karaoke amateur style, in a way that's kinda reminiscent of character insert songs for anime sung by seiyuu that aren't quite at the level of professional singers. this is really made clear by the last part! interesting contrast between this track where the vocalist wears out her voice with energy and weight of the world where the vocalist wears out her voice with emotion.
-this track is energetic, certainly. I like 0:43, and the guitars in that section. the chorus is catchy enough. I think it's all right.

-that chill percussion in the intro feels very S.F.A. actually, I enjoy the parts where that percussion shows up the most. a lot of the rest of the track goes kinda loud with the guitar and the rest of the instrumentation kinda blurs along with it. it doesn't express a particularly interesting melody or progression. 2:32 kinda reminds me of the intro to filthy mind. I think a more overall chill S.F.A track-- something like honor winds-- would do better for me here.
-it is strange to revisit someday the dream will end-- a track I hated during the early days of vgmc (and yet could mentally replay accurately without having listened to it recently at all-- just because I don't like a track doesn't mean I don't remember it well, I guess). this was a perennial entry for a while and I and a few other people (Nee, for sure, and Mac) ragged on it endlessly. old vgmc days! I remember them fondly.
-my dislike of the track has lost a lot of its colour, like a fleeting dream. it's not really there anymore, even though I still stop short of liking the track-- I think it takes the original suteki da ne motif (which I like) and turns it into this somber death march of a track, stripping it of a lot of its personality for a sort of generic wistful sadness, one I don't really feel. but the composition is better than I gave it credit for then.
