Bernie to Biden makes NO sense to me. If name recognition is THAT important, I'd think you'd have supported Hillary in the first place. Since everyone knew her name.

Biden has a lot of progressive cred purely from the association with Obama. Needless to say he doesn't deserve it (Obama wasn't even especially progressive!). I have no doubt that number will drop the more Biden's dirty laundry is aired.

But the real thing that data shows is just how much the wide field is helping Biden in the early stages.

Representative Louis Gohmert (R-TX) was interviewed on local news station KETK, where the host bemoaned how mass shootings were being politicized.

Gohmert said that he was particularly distraught that people were calling for the El Paso shooter to face hate crimes charges, even though he allegedly killed at least 22 people at a Walmart because he hated Hispanic people.

So all of this screaming and yelling we need to punish him for hate crimes, you know, thats just going to be something used to lock up preachers someday, he said.

Calling a killing spree targeted at Hispanics a hate crime is a slippery slope to...locking up people for personally being against gay marriage.

I think my favorite historical figure there is a couple of philosophers who I find understood human nature better than most people, Biden said. But in terms of political figures, maybe my favorite political figure, it is a tough call, I would have to say it is those people who gave America hope. Made them believe in who we are. You said not a president. I would have to start off with Jefferson, even though he didnt live up to it. He is the guy that wrote that incredible document.

Harris is the closest, but things like flip flopping on her health care plan like 5 times really give me pause with her (Booker or Castro might be okay if they were to actually gain momentum).

Of course, a perfect alternative would be Hillary...!

Biden is 76.
Bernie is 77.
Warren is 70.
(Trump is 73.)

All of them should have their age be a concern. It was also a very valid concern with McCain when he ran that got proven right - he wouldn't have lasted his term and we would've had president Palin.

If any of those three win the primary their VP matters more. They're all too fucking old.

McCain's second term would have ended in 2017 just like Obama's. You can make the argument the stress of the job would have exacerbated things but that's the realm of speculation and what-ifs now, certainly not "proven."

That said, I do believe that his age (as well as the Biden/Sanders/Warren trio) does mean the VP pick gets increased importance and scrutiny.

yes, you countered that the jobs do exist and people are not taking them, based on the anecdotal evidence of your personal experience that doesn't prove anything. this is exactly what my point is.

So, I am glad you agree that I did not say what you said I said.

With that said, yes, higher paying jobs do exist, and people do turn them down.

Probably the biggest impediment to climbing on the career ladder is comfortability. Though many don't want to do it either for a myriad of reasons.

I think my real life experience is just as valid as your hypotheticals, if not more. You talk about hypotheticals and theoretical situations, without any actual basis.

Like what do you do when serious jobs no longer exist!? Well, that is not the scenario when that discussion happened nor now!

If all the serious jobs are gone, it is because unemployment is high because those jobs exist now and are going unfilled way more than they should be. If the pay is the issue, why aren't they moving up and taking them?

The issue is of course that many want that pay to continue working where they are. Not to do a different job that pays that amount. Like, I said, a myriad of reasons exist for that. Some do move up and have that ambition. Many don't.

A lot of minimum wage jobs are entry level jobs and meant to be treated that way. They are not career jobs. People trying to make entry level jobs not meant to support families into jobs that support families is the issue. Get a better job.

I have said this a million times, and I will say it again. The difference between liberals and conservatives is that liberals view things in theory and in ideal situations. They speak from the heart and what is the best they want for the world ideally.

Conservatives, in general, view things from experience and reality. They know the things liberals wish to attain in many times is not feasible or possible. They speak from the brain and what is the best that can be possibly done.
