Also god damn Frost Lich Jaina is broken. Idk how the fuck its fair you can build your deck however the hell you want but just throw in FLJ and boom, if you make it to endgame and have a chance to play this card you win.

Cant believe Im actually already looking forward to the next rotation. This meta actually kinda sucks.

Just had a pretty *rich* interaction with someone who added me after a game.

I was playing that super memey hunter secret deck simply because I wanted to do another arena run and I needed to complete a hunter dominance quest to afford it.

So I match up against a hunter, I draw pretty poorly, he draws pretty well, I get stomped, it's rank 18, I couldn't care less. I'm queuing up again and he adds me.

I accept, and this is pretty close to a verbatim recreation of the conversation:

Puns: who me?
Him: yes
Puns: I mainly play arena. I was just playing a meme deck to finish a quest

Haven't played much this month, and I'm kinda waiting for the meta to settle before blowing a bunch of dust crafting. But I got the play 100 Murlocs quest and decided I'd give Murloc Mage a spin. It's no META BREAKER, but when Arugal+ Stargazer Luna happens, it's awesome. It mostly gets rolfstomped, but every now and then I can steal a win or two with it. Fun.

Needed a break from grinding against the last puzzle lab stuff, so messed with ladder a lot today. I got up to rank 1 4 stars at one point, then went on a losing streak back to midway through rank 2, mostly trying Token Druid today.

I'm down to the last puzzle in every wing except for mirror (cleared), so just 3 puzzles left and I'll be done.

I mean, yeah sure.

Just telling my own story because I know most people who give a hoot about this thread and also have a realistic understanding of the game and reality as a whole don't typically also play the lower ranks.

I started the game just now and have no puzzles left to solve. Too soon.

Also something kind of unique happened. Played a Brawl facing a full board and it spit the minions out in the exact order they were played. The Doomguard surviving made it less than ideal but it still seemed like a cool result.

I don't have it, however, there's quite a few videos up on Control Warrior (Odd too) with Supercollider being run. It looks like an effective mid-to-late-game board management tool. The opponent has to be mindful of a few things just by having Supercollider up, not the least of which is positioning, which a lot of players suck at. Kibler is running 2 of them in this video.

What's a good replacement for Elise in this deck? I've played about 20 games with it now and I've never once opened a pack that I can remember, so I think it's time to replace the vanilla 5/5/5 that eventually gives me a dead draw with something that helps. This is mainly just a junky Control Warrior I built solely to play around with Boom but it's actually been winning.

I'd have to craft the second Shield Slam but that's what I'm leaning towards. I was also thinking about crafting a Supercollider but I'd probably replace a Weapons Project or Blood Razor for it. Maybe some other tech card? I was going to drop MCT but it single-handedly won two of my last three games so he gets an extended run. Same with Darius, he doesn't really seem to fit but he's been putting in work.

Does that deck have enough threats? I realize you've got a number of generators, betwen assembly, stonehill, and boom. But on the surface, it feels like you've really only got Lich King and Darius (unless you can keep your armor high) and then the potential to dead man's into fatigue against non-combo opponents. I am decidedly NOT the person to ask about control warrior, because it's the one class I have easily the fewest wins in because it just never really makes sense to me, but I'd feel better with something else threatening on the turf. Elise is nice that way because she's only 5, has okay-ish stats, and provides more for your late game. But if she's not working for you, then what would complement that better? Grom is the perennial warrior favorite, of course, but he costs 8 and not everyone owns him. Or, if you don't think the deck needs it, maybe a little extra power in clearing boards -- gorehowl or drake.

For that matter, how good is Dr. Boom here? It's not a mech deck, and I'm not a big fan of the card without a specific plan to leverage it...which, of course, is hard to do when your hero power keeps changing.

Boom is good on his own - every hero power except Kaboom is good value (and that's good against aggro). Zap is solid and the 3 1/1s and discover a mech are generally removal + board. The real problem is staying alive if you don't roll 2 mana gain 7.

I was looking at Odd Warrior decks because I was thinking of crafting one, and those seem to get by on threats with just double Assembly, Stonehill, an Elise, Baku, and Boom. If you don't want to run Elise, maybe Direhorn Hatchling? I'm a fan of that card and it has a similar anti-fatigue effect as Elise does while also giving you a decent body + a 6/9 later.

I haven't really needed threats, I've been winning by just clearing everything thrown at me until the opponent concedes, and 90% of my games have been against aggro/zoo decks and the occasional Egg/Cube. I don't think I've queued into a single combo deck since the first couple of days so it hasn't been an issue yet. Warrior is also the class I have the fewest wins in, and this is the first time I've ever really tried playing Control Warrior. I don't seem to open up a lot of Warrior epics or legendaries, and I'm still missing a good chunk of them including Gromm. It's hard to convince myself to spend the dust crafting those cards for a class I pretty much never play.

The problem with Elise is I sit around playing defensively in most games so I never have the hand space to open the pack. I love value and greed, but if I never open the pack even after drawing it it's kind of pointless. There's been more than one game where I've had ten cards at the start of every turn, and five of them are packs and Omega Assemblys that I don't have room to play.

Boom has been... okay? He's the reason I'm playing the deck so I'd probably just play something else entirely before cutting him, but most games see me under enough pressure early on that I can't afford to abandon the armor until the late stages of the game.

Honestly, I should just play Odd Warrior. I don't know what it is, but something about the deck just doesn't interest me. It probably should, the way in which I like to play makes that deck feel almost tailor made for me, but...eh.

Next turn, Druid plays Rotten Applebaum. I kill it with Cube, then pop Cubes deathrattle before playing Mossy Horror. Druid has 2 Drake and a Lich King up. Take a wild guess which two minions died.

At no point in any game is skill level ever factored into any win or any loss. It is 100% decided by RNG. Puzzle Lab was great, because it showed that this game is good when RNG is removed.

I run Mossy Horror in a decent amount of my decks now, and all but Egg Hunter is solely because of that one card.

I've hit rank 4 five stars 6 times this month, and all 6 times I immediately lost three games in a row to facing a direct counter plus having bad draws. This time I was playing burn mage and saw Deathrattle Hunter x2, Odd Warrior x2.

It stops being an accident when it happens multiple times in a row every month at the same exact spot. Your matchup is 100% determined by your rank. There is no doubt in my mind on this. Skill level never one times factors into any matchup. Ever. In fact Hearthstone in general is specifically designed against skill level mattering, which I have right from the mouths of Blizzard employees that helped design this trash. That's the part people like to pretend doesn't exist, because it factually proves me right.

I've been on a lot of Bruce Blitz wrestling podcasts and announced a bunch of basketball games in high school and college. I'd legit be a lot better at commentary than you guys think.
