I had a glitch the other night, vs a shaman. I Myra'd my deck, got what I needed for lethal: Cold Blood on the 2/1 Pirate w charge. I think I started playing the cards before the Unstable Element animation completed fully. The Deckhand's attack went through, but the game hung up indefinitely: I could emote still, no rope after 10 minutes, the Shammy's hero never exploded. Let it hang for at least 10 minutes (enough time to change a baby's diaper and grab a smoke) then restarted and I got credit for the W.

Might have been Myra's that glitched it, methinks.

A great example is that terrible elemental mage deck Kibler went 18-7 with. That deck had that record on stream with no Skulking Geist, no silences, no weapon removal, and no Mind Control Tech. How? Because Brian Kibler has streamer luck and avoided bad matchups.

I ran the exact list for 10 games, and my only change was swapping out the 2/1 freeze dude for Aruglia. I saw 5 mech hunters, 3 rogues, a control warlock, and a zoo warlock and went 4-6.

I never once drew FLJ on curve, and only once did I draw her at all as my last draw when the game was over and I wanted to see my last card before conceding. I dont feel like watching all 25 games of Kiblers stream, but I would bet one million dollars he got to cast FLJ more than I did. She is core to the deck.

Plenty more I could get into, but you guys get the point. Luck is the only relevant factor in Hearthstone.

Yes, the point being that you suck at the game and make babyrage excuses to justify your terrible play. You have posted the replays before to prove it. Anyone that coin's into Raven Familiar on T1 playing Big Spell Mage doesn't have the brain power to judge how this game works.

Skill plays less of a factor right now than it previously did but not because of RNG. It's because matches are so polarizing and there's a decent chunk of them where there's nothing you can do to prevent the opponents win conditions.

Ok, I'm going to never mulligan and play the left most card in my hand every turn when possible. Clearly I will still win 50% of my games.

Ulti, here is what you are saying:

Skill is never ever a factor in hearthstone.

Your "never ever" insistence borders on the absurd. It's clear to everyone else that there are elements of randomization and elements of skill. And that part of being skillful is making optimal plays based on the percentage chance of certain outcomes. Such as "my only chance to win is to kill their taunt and pop their piloted shredder and hope a doomsayer pops out". Yes, if that happened it would be based on a random effect, but it would still presuppose that the player had the skill to recognize their only possible out and to play towards that out.

See also: "I can clear the board if I play twisted nether, but then they get to establish board again, so my only winning play is to play mind control tech and hope I steal the lich king". It's a losing play 75% of the time, but it's skillful to realize that in some situations twisted nether is a losing play nearly 100% of the time, so you take your chance where you can get it.

So let's try this. Ulti, if you feel like making a post about RNG, I want you to go to random.org and randomize a number between 1 and 30. If you get a 1 then go ahead and make the post. And the rest of us will take it as the "ulti complains" card was the top card in your deck and we couldn't possibly avoid it. Otherwise put a pin in it until next time.

A more rational argument would be that in the event of equally skilled players, RNG is the largest contributing factor outside of deck matchups.

Then you would just be arguing semantics over how much skill level difference leeway you want to give on the terms 'equally skilled'

Of course the issue is that Ulti believes he is equally skilled or better than every other player which is why his losses always have to be RNG. He is unwilling to consider the possibility that he may have been outplayed

Yes. Disguised Toast set it up at some point. I think he had chat win a game against the inn keeper or one of the chess tavern brawls? I don't remember exactly.

Then he gave chat access to his library for a few minutes and expensive cards were crafted and or dusted. It was a memey good time.

Its a bit hit or miss, almost everything outside the last section of lethal is fairly straightforward, but the dr boom section starts out with a tough patron lethal and has at least one other tricky priest puzzle.

I'm stuck on the 4th tier one with the Doomguards and Taunts.

I know the correct solution either has to be getting three of the Doomguards to the face with Hellfire damage, or using everything but the Hellfire and getting all four through, but the second situation definitely seems out of reach. Thus, I need to get everything on the other side of the board under 4 health without damaging the 7- and 6-health Doomguards, but I'm not seeing a path to do that, either.

Does anyone else feel it's dumb that if an "end of turn" effect reduces a minion to 0 health, a healing totem triggering AFTER that saves it? Like, how does that work. It went to 0 hp.

Just now was the first time I ever got screwed by that, but wow was that a game changer.

Because the healing totem is also an end of turn effect so in theory the damage is being healed as it occurs. I guess?
But then its weird that sequencing matters for things like coffin crasher in otk mecha'thun priest but the damage is not truly resolved until the very end of turn.

Id be curious to see what happens if you had a healing totem on your board and did the combo. Would itb survive with 1 hp? Or would the healing occur first and then 10 damage still kills it?

I couldn't figure out how to beat the egg mirror puzzle so I set myself up for a 50/50 and took it to complete the challenge.

Skill really isn't a factor in this game!

Just played the first two levels of each wing today, and while nothing was hard the Survival and Board Clear sections both had one puzzle already I needed to tinker with for a second. Going to take a guess that the hardest puzzle is going to be found in the Mirror section, feels like it has the most potential to get ridiculous.

Cleared Dr Boom in the mirror section, but I'm stuck on the last puzzle in Lethal. It feels like one I might need a guide for, I could figure out the one before it (with similar mechanics), but I can't see how the lethal one is possible.

I guess I'll try the other two wings in the meantime.

Saving the Boom section for last, but the only hard lethal puzzle for me from the standard section was the second or third to last one with the Tundra Rhino and Abomination. I always seemed to get myself one damage away from lethal and I just spent about ten minutes on that one alone, which was way more than any of the other lethals.

Turns out I had lethal multiple times, but in my brain I forgot to account for the one damage from the Timberwolf actually attacking. Fuck me, why did that take so long to figure out...

Not looking forward to the harder Mirror puzzles.

Well, the Boom levels definitely turned the difficulty way up. That first Northshire fatigue puzzle kicked my ass for quite a long time, and I'm sitting at the next one trying to figure out if it's going to be easier or harder after just finishing the similar one before it.

I cleared all of them on the normal bosses and only have boom levels left. I thought the last healing wing was kind of easy in comparison to some of the other ones like board clear.

There is one puzzle I'm completely and utterly stumped on right now. Not even going to say which because I'm not ready to throw in the towel, but it's pretty baffling because I've put it down a couple times and picked it back up later, and I haven't made any progress.

Like I've thought about it from many different angles and have thoroughly considered every single card and for the life of me I can't figure out what I'm missing. I like this sort of thing, though.

Finished all the regular healing, then board clear and im nearly finished with mirror. Then ill just have lethal followed by booms.

Hrmm there was one i struggled with for awhile. It was one of the healing ones and i was consistently 1-2 hp off from the play i was attempting.

But then i remembered that Witchwood piper was a demon and it all came together.

Quest rogue was never not strong. Its just that its the hardest deck to play and only really works in small pockets of ranked that most players either never reach or cant identify.

Ive said time and time again that quest rogue is a card that needs to be killed or changed not nerfed.

Theres really nothing more tilting than losing to someone whos blatantly playing like ass but seemingly cant lose a single roll

Dumbass odd warrior tryhard (of course) burns a brawl so I go all in, of course he topdecks the next one. Oh well, still have plenty of pressure. Gets the ultra highroll on MCtech to get a Zilliaxd mech and save himself from lethal.

Blah.

Game seriously is fucking annoying sometimes.

I did it. I went full northshire. 3 boom bosses left.
