I just did the same thing after taking a break from Control Warrior, drafted Oakheart early and built around him. The deck seems... not good? I'm hoping for that 3-3 Ulti wants to get away from with this deck.

Using a tool for drafting advice (hellllloooooo hearth arena) or at least referencing a credible arena tier list is a good start.

It will make sure you aren't sleeping on an OP card that you were offered and if something is rated a lot higher (or lower) than your personal estimation then you can take it as food for thought and adjust your estimation accordingly.

Hearth arena again excels in this regard because in addition to giving you the tier value of each card it will also weight the cards based on your deck so far. For example if you have only one 3drop after 25 cards it will probably recommend an average 3drop over a strong 4drop based on what your deck is lacking.

I haven't used those tools in awhile (and probably should again because they are helpful even when I think I know everything) but having used them a lot helped a ton and established a baseline of drafting/arena knowledge so I don't fall into the obvious mistakes.

But you still have to pilot well and mulligan according not only to your deck but based on how far into your run you are.

For example if I have a fairly weak deck but somehow manage to have a 6-0 start I will aggressively mulligan for my best starting cards, even at the cost of tossing my "good" cards. Because I know that with a weak deck having a good opening won't be enough against the calibur of deck you could expect to see in that position.

Ulti, one thing I have needed to learn (because its different from MtG draft) is not to value removal as premium like we usually do. This is because minions also function as removal, albeit janky removal.

Removal is still good, and sweepers are godly, but tempo is the real king.

Man I hate being a dick but seriously how can you say that skill doesn't factor into it and then ask for advice on how to be better at arena? If skill is irrelevant then you shouldn't need any help at all right?

Playing Monster Hunt for the pack quest today, and something happened that makes no sense to me.

2/3 Amani Berserker attacks face and Explosive Trap goes off, it lives at one health and successfully deals damage. Two damage. After it deals the damage, it correctly sets itself to five attack. Why isn't it dealing five damage to face? I feel like this has to be a new interaction, I used to play an enrage deck back when the game first came out and I had no idea what I was doing, and I don't for a second believe I never encountered this exact situation.

The most annoying thing in the game is to be techd for a card and they play it and you just dont draw either of your 2x Blood Knight.

You run two because Giggling is that strong

Also in Odd Rogue and Paladin you get your own cards that synergize (Squire, Protector) and even a 3 mana 6/6 is quite strong in those decks

Other decks get access to Mossy which is a stronger tech card since it crushes plague too but you dont get access to it as odd decks

You run two because you want to make sure you counter their giggling.

A 9/9 is just that good. That also does one damage each to two 1/2 taunts with ds.

The same reason why Druid runs two UI even though they only want to play 1. Consistency.

Also the deck Im playing isnt odd pally or odd in general just more midrange and the aggression from Blood Knight is more in line with what Im trying to do.

After getting annoyed with warlock shenanigans, my brawl deck became dragon priest. And then I proceeded to win 5 games without facing one warlock.

Tried to spectate someone, but after clicking the game just let me continue to move about the main menu as normal. Figured the game just didn't register the click, so I opened the friends list to try again. This time, clicking it didn't register at all and hovering over it said I was already spectating the person. To top things off, when I restarted the game it said I lost my last game due to a disconnect, even though the only thing I did was try and spectate someone. My rank/stars didn't change at least.

While the subject of Blizzard's programming incompetence, last time a loaded Puzzle Labs, on mobile, I got a bunch of error messages and none of the puzzle bosses portraits loaded up. I could still play the puzzles themselves just fine.

If anyone else did participated in the cheering promotion on the hearthstone twitch channel, two of the four community goals have been hit, and their rewards are available to claim if you haven't already (the community rewards aren't given to you unless you do this).

As far as gameplay, I've been playing a bunch of arena this month, trying to catch up on dust/boomsday legendaries. No 12-win runs so far, but I've had three 10-win runs in the last week, so hopefully I break my drought sometime soon.

Maybe, just maybe, if you play Hagatha on turn 5 because of Far Sight, battle having a full hand all game long because your opponent never plays anything for you to use your random spells against, get down to your final four cards without having drawn Shudderwock but finally manage to get your hand down to eight cards so you have room to draw it... you shouldn't play a four health Acolyte of Pain against the class known for doing one damage to things when you've already seen the opponent play Warpath earlier in the game and they're also sitting on a full hand pretty much every turn.

He had that game 100% won and he just said fuck it and gave it to me.

Other than Quest Rogue, I actually like the current meta. Even with every Druid deck out there being good, it still feels like there's a bunch of diversity.

I'm wondering if they'll continue the current pattern of introducing one hero card per expansion. The classes that lose their DKs at rotation will be at a significant disadvantage, I feel, than those that will still have theirs. Mainly from a late-game, control and value perspective.

And while most hero cards currently are geared towards the late-game, think they'll ever introduce one that supports an aggressive deck?

No.

Having a card that impacts the game in a strong way in the early game is extremely dangerous. Genn and Baku (especially baku) has proven to be very problematic already. Think about what a card like Prince Keleseth has done to the game overall.
