What's Radical Dreams' relation to Chrono Trigger again? Either way Chrono Trigger gets knocked out due to Cross.

Chrono Cross was sort of a remake of Radical Dreamers, with a greatly expanded plot (and, you know, actual gameplay and graphics). So it's connected to CT the same way CC is, although apparently the connections are even less obvious in RD unless you read between the lines a bit more.

The few times l3fty and I agree on anything still take me by surprise. Sharin definitely better than G-Sen. I didnt really like G-Sen much at all though despite finishing it. I didnt really care for any of the main characters so somehow Eiichi was like a top 3-5 character in it. Houzuki alone is better than the entire cast multiplied by a trillion.

As for the topic question.....Im not sure anything I played comes to mind with the conditions

I came up with several answers that seemed like potential candidates, but nothing that was going to stand up to Undertale.

Well then. So is Bloodborne and possibly even Nioh. I actually I consider them all part of the Souls franchise, yes even Nioh.

I'm not sure why I thought of Katawa Shoujo but I did. It'd be a pain to really think about what other vns did and didn't have fandisks so I'll just settle on that.

Alternatively, conceptually Asura's Wrath.

The fact that so few people are mentioning Skies of Arcadia blows my mind.

Also some of these nominations over more obvious things such as Cave Story, Crystalis and Grim Fandango which are regarded as classics in their genres and stood the test of time makes no sense. I guess you could make the argument against Cave Story thanks to the 3DS remake but ehhhhh.

Also if we're going to delve into personal preference my answer is and always will be FTL.
