I've got two degrees.

I use my BA in Communications to be awesome at my shitty job

I use my BA in Philosophy to ponder why I continue to work this shitty job, and what we give up as a species by making labor the center of our existence.

Well I have a Computer Science degree

I do some programming at work but it ends up being more IT than programming most of the time. But there is a lot of overlap between CS and IT as well. I suppose if you took at what percentage of the classes I took are useful in my job the answer approaches 100% because of that whereas if I were just a programmer like I used to be the IT stuff in the curriculum would be less useful, but it doesn't feel that way because the majority of what I end up using was learned in the lower level classes and the higher level classes are used very little.

5% bachelor's, 40% associate's

I do tech support for a school district but for a tiny fraction of the time I make recommendations on buying and investing in technology so I kinda sorta use my business degree (bachelor's) that has emphasis on technology. My associate's degree is in computer information technology but it's a mix of programming and tech support skills. Still, mostly programming.

In truth, I could have just not gone to get my bachelor's and I'd have saved tens of thousands of dollars.

In truth, I hate how my life has turned out with all the work I did in school.

Well I wouldn't have the job without the degree. I did English with Journalism. I recently used a little bit of the journalism part because my class are learning how to write news articles. I also proofread and edit lesson plans and other documents and I developed that in Journalism?

The skills used in English are being passed on too but at a much lower level. The knowledge I gained in English is really not relevant to the level I teach at, though I drop in occasional bits from my creative writing class, particularly to the higher-ability kids.

I have a teaching degree which I obviously use all the time, if that counts.

English - nah. when I first started working, I would've said "the writing experience is really useful" but at this point, my on-the-job experience dwarfs anything I got out of college. I look at my early stuff and it's like wow this is amateur hour

law - like 50%? the first-year stuff I definitely use (procedure, torts, contracts), but a lot of my electives were either too theoretical (rule of law) or just have never come up (labor law, fair housing act, death penalty [banned in my state])
