The BHB maps really were made for Flier Emblem (FE). As tempting as it is to put Rauorblade on HNowi, I am really liking Grimmoire on her as it allows her to do some cool positioning shenanigans. At the same time, Tharja doesn't really need the extra merge since she doesn't get used very much.

The real kicker is she has 0 skills.

So she has such minimal value.

And my second free 5* is ... +Spd/-Res CRobin! I think I got the best nature for him, so I couldn't ask for more. My luck with free 5* has been good. Both times have given me the best nature for the unit.

Now I can save up orbs to go for Nowi or the Legendary Banner.

It's probably not worth pulling for a 4* unit. I'd wait for the legendary banner or possible new years banner.

Gonna try to collect enough orbs to try again, but otherwise it's not looking good.

Heavy Blade seal. That's unexpected. Supposedly, mages can use the seal despite not being able to inherit Ike's. Reinhardt can get constant moonbows, and Siegbert can do Roy's job better now. I'll be upgrading this one as soon as I get it

mages can inherit heavy blade. i just checked.

blade tome does seem like a good combo for it. maybe with astra. black knight seems like he'd be good with it as well, though that wouldn't synergize too well with vantage.

I thought I ready otherwise on heavy blade, but you're right. Dragon Fang is probably better than Astra for them. I rarely feel like I need their special to trigger to kill something. Galeforce would have been nice if it was accessible.

It might be pretty good on Ephraim now with his guaranteed double. Or you can just through in on a brave user like Cherche.

Don't think Heavy Blade synergizes with anyone I use. It's a defense-oriented team so no one has particularly high attack.

So info on the upcoming legendary banner is out. The new character is a green tome cavalry that seems pretty strong so RIP my 10+ Cecilia project. I guess I should be thankful I only sank 60k feathers into her so far.

The other units are Sigurd, Brave Roy, Ryoma, Spring Lucina, Bride Charlotte, Fjorm, Spring Chrom, Amelia, Bride Lyn, Innes, and Elise. There's only like one I want from each category personally but it seems pretty good if you don't have many of them? idk

On the bright side I pulled again on the Christmas banner and got Hypothermia Tharja and Dorcas so who needs an 8% banner anyway

I'm unable to look at banners the way I was before. I see all these good characters and my response is "there's no way I'll get enough of these to justify Tier 20 Arena usage". Most of them don't offer good Skill Inheritance either.

Is there even any advantage to staying in tier 20 other than the extra orb/feathers? It seems like way more effort than it's worth unless it's just the fun part of the game for you.

It's really the endpoint of the game for me. Like what else is there to do in FEH if you're not trying to make strong Arena teams? I did all the quests and story mode and chain challenges ect. The occasional Infernal Bound Hero Battle is fun but infrequent. Stuff like Tempest Trials is just a pure timesink without any depth.

Plus I do find it to be a lot of fun. Especially since the 2.0 update. I see a lot less horses and a lot more interesting team comps.

I guess that's the difference. I took a break for a couple months, so there's some PvE stuff I still haven't done. But just in general it's hard for me to care too much about the arena since, at least at tier 19 (I've never broken into 20), it's super easy and has no real depth. It seems like the meta right now is more around squeezing out extra stat points than the actual gameplay too.

I'm not really feeling this banner. The new character shares a color with two units I don't want at all. Everyone there that I want, I already have and it's impractical to build a high merge 5*. I think I'll complete the free summon session and then wait for Brave Ike to share a color with the new mage on a legendary banner.

I wish the blizzard tome could be inherited-- I mean with a generic name like that you'd think it'd be able to but they never are.

That thing would be sick with my debuffing Matthew but I would want to put it on like Robin or something.

The new banner feels like it has more duds than the previous. Interesting we are getting a new cavalry mage, which makes Bruno less special if we get him, but I dont want to risk getting Chrom. I super want Lyn, but dont want Innes and dont need another Elise >___>

Do we know when the banner is going live? Should be next couple days, right?

i've always thought L'Arachel could end up green tome if she gets Ivaldi, since Julia and Deirdre are.

but yeah other than her i really can't think of anything. Azel, Miranda, Selena would be red. Arthur, Eyrios, Kempf would be blue. i guess there's some minor bosses that weren't important enough to get into the CYL poll. even among those i think Musar's the only one that uses wind.

Blizzard and Tomahawk as legendaries don't me sense to me either. I guess Stout Tomahawk is a completely different story.

Characters haven't really been bound to their classes so far - especially when it comes to seasonal banners. Faye cannot be classed as an archer in Echoes, and Lucius as a healer is wrong. It's a matter of time before someone unexpectedly becomes a green mage cavalier.

with seasonals, all bets are off, but they haven't done too much with others. Lucius, Faye at best lead to things like Ewan, Miriel or the aforementioned L'Arachel as cav mages. or maybe one of those red or blues i mentioned could end up green like Narcian.

Ricken might actually be the most fitting, he's a green mage and can promote to Dark Knight though it isn't his default. But yeah it's not like I never expected another green cavalier, just that I didn't really expect one in 2017.

interesting, Azura didn't get increased BST. i guess because she's technically the first of her type, though fliers have the same BST as infantry.

Yeah. Flying Dancer Azura has pretty much the same stat total as normal Azura. She has the Dancer stat penalty and she doesn't have the recent unit stat buffs.

I'm still weighing my options but I'm pretty sure my Eirika is +ATK/-RES

I faced off in Arena against a +6 Eirika tonight ironically with her on my team who I believe was +SPD and -RES as well. I kinda think +SPD is probably alot worse than +ATK. My Eirika with Fury 3 has 40 SPD which is more or less able to double like almost every unit in the game or whatever.

Gunnthra doesn't have increased stats either. and only 25 res for a ploy unit. now that's really weird. relying on fortress res and/or fortify cavalry i guess (actually, do buffs even matter for ploys?). though i guess most people would probably just replace both skills.

legendary hero banner is more or less a super bait banner if you pull anything besides reds I think.

edit: basically unless you want more Ryoma's for merge or whatever (or if you don't own Brave Roy/Sigurd like me :( ). it's probably completely skippable unless you want BB lyn or charlotte or spring lucina/chrom.

opposite for me. i don't own Ryoma and want more Sigurd merges (maybe just 1 merge for BRoy that isn't -spd).

though probably not enough to go beyond the first session on this banner (i don't have any orbs anyway because i got baited by Rhajat and Tharja).

Corrin's stats honestly don't look too inflated either now that you point it out. He's only +4 on Virion which seems below the standard level of inflation at this point. Granted Virion has a lot more in HP which is of slightly lower value as a stat but IS has never really balanced around that anyway as far as raw totals go.

(making that comparison because their stat totals are actually pretty similar-- I might prefer Virion just because he can run Panic Ploy)

Though upon looking into it I guess bows have been better about keeping stat totals more in line than say swords.
