I think most of them are bad, and I think most people think most of them are bad but don't say anything because they don't want you to stop doing them because they're aware you're very SENSITIVE. I usually keep it to myself, because if nothing else I am a very positive person, but I felt we needed some negativity dispersion here from someone who you know isn't white knighting charon.

Now all that being said I think you should still do them because even if only 2/14 of them were any good, that's still two more than zero. There's no penalty for shooting and missing. You just scroll past the pic and move on.

I honestly wished someone would have said a while ago they hated them because hearing that really makes it worse.

I think the reaction of most people to most of them is probably tepid-- which I say because why wouldn't it be. That's okay. It's not like you're pouring 3 hours of work into these things.

There's probably a lot of anger towards Terra because a few of her more vocal haters have put into words pretty well what there is to dislike about her, while her supporters can't really do the reverse too well from what I've seen, which makes a lot of people on the fence say "you know, you're right, Terra is bad."

Jeff Zero is literally saving Cid this contest because he wants to keep seeing Cidpics.

I don't care for Cid that much but I'll definitely help Cindy next year if it means we get Cindypics

I don't usually find them funny, but I still like them. I like creative stuff in general, and I'm always a tad disappointed when Cid goes out or some drama thing happens and it's the end of Cidpics for the contest.

For my part, I liked Terra's amnesia plotline (though it was a bit sad the game never explored the implications of certain things) and her subplot with the orphans was one of the best parts of FFVI

Honestly the funny thing is I'm in favor of cidpics too.

I'm just saying scarlet is a baby as much as charon is, he's just less of a jerk. Ya both need to lighten up. I've made my share of blunders in stuff when I'm trying to be funny on this board like the Analysis Crew, TEW booking, etc etc. No one can make everyone laugh all the time.

But if you make someone laugh once in a while, it's worth it, as long as the stuff that doesn't isn't aggressively unfunny. I would say for as many I said were bad, only today's would really apply there (largely because I have no idea why it was even a Cidpic)

I actually really enjoy super old school RPGs like FF2 and the NES Dragon Quests a lot.

FF1 and 3 I am more EH on because job systems are just okay, but FF2 is actually a pretty neat and twisty narrative for its time. I like it slightly more than FF4 because look man FF4 is fucking LONG and so it actually ends up being my favorite 2D FF.

I admit my actual favorite from it is Leon because like dude just randomly commits genocide for the Emperor which shows off how scary the emperors mind control is but Minwu is pretty baller man. Plus his design is really really cool for a cleric type I mean look at this guy.

This is so much better than the generic white cloaked girl you get in most of the other games where you have dedicated healers.

Heck its pretty nice that for once you have a healer that isnt a generic heal-chick. I mean some of them are done well (like Yuna, though shes also a summoner which is cheating).

It's probably the least favorite FF I've played through but I never thought it was terrible. Always good to hear a dissenting opinion.

The plot is actually pretty solid, yeah. You hear complaints about the gameplay but I man just how much do you play FF for gameplay

Plenty of FF games have good gameplay. FFV, FFX, FFIV DS are all excellent even without the story I feel. I really liked FFXIII's gameplay too though I can see why people might not-- then again I didn't dislike FFII's gameplay as much as most.

I kinda stopped taking the gameplay criticism seriously from most of this board when their favorite FF was the utterly glacial FFIX though.

I'm not even saying FFIX is ruined by its gameplay or anything.

I'm just saying that on a board where FFIX is generally the favorite or one of the favorites, it makes you take any critique on FF gameplay as a whole from the board at large with a lot of salt. Especially since FFIII DS gets a lot of hate for being slow and FFIX is much slower than it is.

To me, the only two FFs I've played that are actively HINDERED by their gameplay are FF2 and FF8. FF11 was hindered by the over reliance on other players (I know, it's an MMO, but still though), but those are the only two where the gameplay was actively unpleasant.

In a different setting, I can have fun with friends and roasting. But here, on a board that contains people who truly hate me and even wish me death? Yeah, no. The problem is that it's those very sorts of people that image attracted. Sorry if I don't like being treated that way.

What? FFIV is fairly short. It's only like 20 hours long. That's definitely on the shorter side as far as FFs go.
