Board 8 > Day 4: 1 Elephant vs 10 Samurai

Day 1: 12 Wolves barely beat 2 Tigers with 51.67% of the vote. (60 votes)
Day 2: 25 Giraffes smacked the crap out of 12 Wolves with 59.46% of the vote. (37 votes)
Day 3: 1 Elephant went all out Ganesh on 25 lanky Giraffes with 52.70% of the vote. (74 votes)


These battles take place in about a 2 acre sized dome. Completely flat terrain.

The Samurai have no protective armor but they are all adept swordsmen with traditional Japanese Katanas

I feel like 10 people would be less likely to get in each other's way and would actually be able to circle the elephant effectively.

I feel like the elephant has no chance? Like the elephant can easily kill a person, but I can only imagine trained samurai wouldn't really have an issue dodging its movements. I guess I don't know how effective katanas would be against elephant hide, but regardless, surely the samurai would find a way to exploit weak points.

Idk about the Samurai, sure they have very strong offensive capabilities, but one hit from that elephant and they're incapacitated at least. Not to mention the fear and the fact that there's no terrain to use to their advantage

Samurai are 50% stronger than the African Forest Elephant. Even with the debuff, Samurai still have 5 more combat strength. It's a clear win for them.

Heres the deal with circling though, it works if what you're attacking is smaller or equal size, if you attack that elephant from behind, it's going to freak out and charge forward, killing anything in front of it. It's not just going to stand there and take a beating

rampaging elephant would be devastating but 10 swordmasters with the finest swords of all time, maybe 2-3 of them are needed to land their strikes to kill the elephant.

Right, but with ten of them, they'll likely be tripping over each other, not to mention they have zero defensive capabilities. I could really see either way tho. Also for the record, I voted giraffes last time.

To state, in barbaric ages, cavemen took down mammoths working together in bands of like 15-20 with makeshift spears and netting. If spears made from rock can pierce a mammoth's hide, its ancestor doesn't stand a chance against the sharpest blade made with two kinds of metals.

10 samurai easily easily easily. Armed humans are way better at fighting than any other land animals. A sword is at least as dangerous as a tusk, but it's not a body part. We've got more endurance than almost any other animal. We can use language to communicate. All they have to do is let the elephant tire itself out.
