37 y/o Brandon Vezmar from Austin, Texas SUCCESSFULLY Sued his 35 y/o Date, Crystal Cruz for $17.31 as he made headlines this week over his lawsuit against her when she RUINED Guardians of the Galaxy 2 last Saturday because she was texting throughout the entire movie!!

The pair met on an online dating app called Bumble and met at the theatre to see the smash hit sequel but claimed she started texting 15 minutes into the movie and said "It was kind of a first date from hell. This is like one of my biggest pet peeves"

Crystal said she would be right back after he asked her to stop texting and suggested she go outside but she LEFT the theatre and drove away as Brandon was left without a ride..

Crystal said the texts were from a friend who wanted to make sure she was safe on the date as the 17 smackers was the amount Brandon paid for the ticket to the 3D showing of the movie

He contacted Crystal the next day asking to pay him back and said "Crystal, your behaviour Saturday was not only rude but it cost me money. I want you to compensate me for the $17 movie ticket. Will you do this or do i have to pursue the money in small claims court?"

Crystal called the incident crazy and said she aint paying him back..so he filed the suit in small claims adding the texting habits during the movie and how she activated her phone 10-20 times in 15 minutes to read and send text as it was a "direct violation" of the policy at the theatre itself and that his experience was "adversely affected by it"

Crystal said her phone was on low and wasn't bothering anybody and said she doesn't owe him anything because he took HER out on a date..AND she was going to file a protective order against him because he tried to contact her little sister for the money too!..

But yesterday, Crystal apologized and gave him the money asking him to just "leave her alone" and he accepted her apology and withdrew the suit

Would you try to sue someone for less than 100 bucks? let's see if people would

dudes legit its about the principal. he is right it is rude and if she wasnt interested at least be nice to the guy shouting you a night out. no matter what he is doing the nice thing the least she can do is share the evening with him and pay attention to him and not worry about anything else. Was like last week went to an expensive dinner for my gf dinner and this asian chick opposite me was on snapchat doing stupid faces with cat and bunny ears. all night long they said not 1 word to each other she was obssessed with the mobile phone and the guy took her to a place where it was 110 a plate for a person under the harbor bridge amazing view and she was snapchatting. if i was the guy i wouldve told her going bathroom and left and never spoken with her again let her foot the bill. stuff shallow woman, guys are painted as the bad guys in society but these days pro woman movement is ruining the world. if a guy was on the phone doing this well be called a pig but a chick does it and we ignore it like aww its cute

This guy is a piece of crap. First off, I thought $17 was below the minimum for any small claims court. Second, there's no way he'd win or even deserve $17. At worst she ruined 10 minutes of the movie. If the movie was 100 minutes, to use any easy example, she'd owe no more than $1.70...and even that would be up for debate because it depends if she ruined 100% of the first 10 minutes or only a piece of it which cannot possibly be measured. He should have been a normal person and told her it was rude and then moved on with his life.

She ruined the experience of seeing the movie. A movie isn't a cake. You can't remove one "slice" and leave the rest perfectly intact.

I think it was good for him to call her out for her behavior, but filing a suit is absurd. It makes me think that whatever was going on before they got to the movie was enough to make her feel uncomfortable and justify her departure. Then again, she left him stranded at the theater...it's curious he never asked for compensation for the cab ride home.

I was sitting next to people having a small popcorn fight and they stayed for the duration when I watched GOTG2 but I was still able to summon the will to concentrate on the big screen.

People texting during movies is the worst. And the money he got back was for her ticket that he paid for, not his own. She made him meet at her house, made him drive them in her car, then texted throughout the movie and left when he asked her to stop texting, stranding him.

Texting during a movie is horrible behavior. I honestly don't think I've seen it person, thankfully. Seems almost all people are more considerate than that.

And bouncing, thus leaving the dude without a ride, is really fucked up. Obviously we don't know the whole context, but that's a low class move.

He threatened to sue because she basically took advantage of him.

He bought the tickets in advance because they were selling out, under the impression that she'd pay him back for hers. She didn't, and then pulled the texting and ditching crap. So because she made him buy food, and then made him drive, and then pulled that crap on top of it... He didn't let it slide and demanded the money.

And she pulled the "You took me out on a date, you had to pay for everything, lol i'm not paying"

That article sounds incredibly biased against him. For one, what's even the point of bringing up the Chicago thing? And two, it flat out leaves out the parts about her ditching him with no ride, and about him "going to her family for the money" was simply him asking them on Facebook how to get a hold of her since she was avoiding him.
