First match is really easy. Mega Man is one of those franchises I almost never vote for, and as usual just about anything would be enough to beat it here. Mystic Core was actually a lot better than I remembered it being from nominations though so there's that.

Second match is actually a lot harder. Some people might remember that in past years I've trashed quite a few Umineko songs here, but I've grown much much more fond of the soundtrack over the past year or so. goldenslaughterer is definitely not my favorite song from Umineko, but it's still high enough to be pretty great. Besaid is also a really nice atmospheric piece though so I don't know. I wish this match had happened in like round 3 or something instead. Guess I'll go with goldenslaughterer, though this could have changed on any given day (and in fact I changed my mind 2 or 3 times even on this day!).

Bonus match is also really easy. Mikazuchi is way too chaotic for it's own good, but Awakening is the exact opposite. It's not actively anything spectacular, but it's got a really nice ambience to it. Sort of like a better version of Besaid actually. (or slightly worse? I don't know they're pretty comparable, though my gut reaction is that I like this one more)

Poor Besaid. Would've voted for it over either of the first two, since the first match is pretty whatever. Everyone always complains about the Suite, but I think it's a pretty solid song. Mikazuchi is way too repetitive. Amazing how it's literally half as long as the Suite but gets old so much faster.

Awakening ~Nurburgring Suite~. I liked Mikazuchi much more than I have in the past and it's ironically a much better Falcom song than the actual Falcom song today, but this isn't even close.

I swear I must be the only person on this board who doesn't understand the appeal of Besaid. That said, I like having a strong day 1 match to pull people in. Having Final Fantasy vs Umineko ought to be a decent way to do that. (Plus we have a Mega Man song, too.)

If anything, I'm more disappointed at the songs that have to lose in the other two matches. Neither Mikazuchi nor Awakening should be out in round 1, and Sigma/Mystic Core is one of those middle of the pack matches where I like both tracks. I honestly thought I'd be voting MC here, but something about Sigma jumped at me tonight.

Surprises me that I'm voting for Nurburgring Suite. Feels like it did more with itself than Mikazuchi, which is not something I ever expected to be able to say about it. Sucks that we lose Besaid Island early, buta t least it's for the good cause of Goldenslaughterer advancing. First match is a bunch of lol - too easy!
