For better or worse, being a Californian I'm already accustomed to $3-4 per gallon prices. EDIT: I do wonder how society would be like if instead of voting for certain bills or spending, the individual citizens be allowed to specify where their tax money goes to when they file their taxes. As to how that will actually work out I cannot say but it's just a curious thought. Hell, what if there was no taxes and we're just allowed to donate to the aspect(s) of society that agree with? Of course that will probably lead to the downfall of society within weeks, if not days. If I borrow my sister's car and her device/account get charged for my driving, I'll just reimburse her the amount while topping off her gas.
