That's how it works in some parts of Canada. They used to build government housing for very low income people and kinda gave up on it because it was too expensive. Instead they pay the rent directly to landlords who own low-quality appartments.

Did giant batches of kimchi quite a few times. I usually use the smell to decide how long it needs to ferment.

Gochujang coleslaw is also worth looking into. It's not as pungent and more crispy, works good as a summer alternative.

As a leftist, I do not support them at all. Though I does bother me when the media tries to turn China into another boogeyman because they are becoming a serious rival on the capitalist landscape. The west supports Saudi Arabia and Israel, both currently participating in genocides in Yemen and Palestine. So NOW you care about the uyghur?

I really liked the game but it feels like looses steam when you enter the second area. Like optional quests become less meaningful and characters will start long rants about politics. When we're 2/3 into the game, it's about time to slow down with the world building and move the plot forward a bit.

I was reading this article in the economist where the author whines about americans not taking the POS jobs they're being offered. Then I read the comments the typical bootlickers saying that fast food jobs don't deserve $7 an hour because they're jobs for kids.

Many people answered the same: Some of these jobs are actually held by grown ups with bachelor and even masters degrees, because keep getting told they're overeducated or overqualified for decent jobs in their field. I hear that a lot.

Who came up with that bullshit? How can one be overqualified for a job?

Overqualified is like having a doctor wash the dishes in a restaurant cause he/she couldn't get a job as a doctor. Or the doctor job's pay was too low and refused to do it.

If we're being absolutely honest here, phasing out gas vehicles likely won't happen for anyone but the wealthy and the poor/rural folk won't matter or get ignored. Simply because that's more or less impossible to enforce.

Also governments like to blame people for the emissions but if we're being honest, households driving less and using higher efficiency things in their house isn't gonna do much of anything to help our planet while production facilities and the like are vomiting out gases in quantities that make residential advancements moot.

Industry's goal is still to provide goods that will be used by regular people. There might be a whole bunch transformation steps between what comes out of an an iron mine and the end product of an F-150 truck, but in the end the iron mine is still part of the industry that produces consumer goods. Greenhouse gas emission goes much further than just the electricty/gas bill.

It's part of the reason why it's not productive to compare individual countries performance in greenhouse gas. What part of China's CO2 was used to make goods that were shipped to other countries? Should we blame the country that produced them or ones who ordered them?

They have more than 4 times as many people as the 3rd most populous country. A lot of things are going to look low on a per capita basis.

It's still the right way to interpret the data. I know it's cool to blame others for environmental problems, but the bottom line is that we are performing really badly at this and the Paris Agreement is going to be a total failure.

China is still pretty low when it comes to greenhouse gas emission per capita. We also have a longer history of greenhouse gas emission than they do.

Wealth is produced by creating intellectual and physical goods that fullfeed a need (extra needs can always be created through marketing). Physical goods are limited by the volume of ressources we can extract from the planet. Since intellectual goods mostly require time and brainpower we could consider it the to be infinite source of wealth. But then again most of the population is not very smart, there's probably cap on the need for intellectual goods.
