Topic | What is the highest math class you ever got up to? |
polopili 02/16/21 1:27:47 PM #44 | did a bunch of math classes for my engineering degree, can't remember most of it. |
Topic | Do you drink matcha green tea (one of the healthiest drinks)? |
polopili 02/12/21 7:35:27 AM #27 | I make matcha desserts often and drink matcha tea regularly. I tried higher quality ones and did not notice any taste difference from the cheap stuff, so I just buy giant bags and drink that. Don't care about health benefits, I like the taste. |
Topic | Remember the 16 bit Shadowrun games? |
polopili 01/18/21 9:12:51 PM #8 | Finished the SNES one. Great music and atmosphere. |
Topic | Anybody have an LG Wing? It's so silly looking |
polopili 01/13/21 4:23:49 PM #28 | I have an LG V60 Thinq. I love those crazy gimmicks LG tries to pull. The phone is huge and heavy with the 2nd screen. It's kinda nice when you are the passenger of a car. You can have your audio player on one side and google maps/web browser on the other. The battery is also huge and lasts several days. |
Topic | Canadian politicians: "Please don't travel unless it's necessary." |
polopili 01/05/21 9:17:16 AM #13 | I can't believe that guy Youri Chassin even got elected. That guy has been holding fascist rhetoric ever since he got into politics. He only made it because he joined early into a new party that got popular later. |
Topic | Gochujang. Thoughts? Recipe recommendations? |
polopili 01/04/21 1:10:13 PM #4 | |
Topic | how do you deal with people that tell you that you're replaceable? |
polopili 01/01/21 12:38:56 PM #4 | Jesus, I'm sorry. Truth is, somebody has to do this job. Also you gotta remember that your job does not define you as a human being, it's just something you do for money. |
Topic | Anyone else use their spare covid-time on home improvement projects? |
polopili 12/30/20 8:55:28 PM #24 | Great job, my current kitchen kinda looks like your old one. I'm wondering If I should redo the whole thing or just redo the countertop cause that's the ugliest part. |
Topic | What did your ancestors do for a living? |
polopili 12/28/20 9:32:07 PM #48 | Forestry and farming in Canada for the last 300 years. Before that, probably more farming in France. |
Topic | Anyone watched this 'Bridgerton' show on Netflix? *poss spoilers* |
polopili 12/28/20 6:56:18 PM #2 | Watched it with my parents. There's a lot of sex scenes and they're mostly awkward. |
Topic | Anybody here played Noita? Im really digging this game a lot! |
polopili 12/28/20 5:38:32 PM #5 | I loved this game, it's just so good. The atmosphere, the soundtrack, the graphics. It's also full of secrets. |

Topic | How many hours of sleep do you actually get? |
polopili 12/09/20 1:04:28 PM #10 | 8.5-9. any less and I'm very tired |
Topic | Is Kingdom Come: Delieverance worth 23 dollars? |
polopili 11/26/20 12:12:45 PM #4 | I finished game in that realistic mode where there are no fast travel. Would not recommend to play in this mode. That said I really liked the game. The story is strong, the sidequests are interesting. The combat is quite wonky. I really liked to play at a high diffculty tough, except for the fast travel part. I really liked that you had to use all the tools available to win combats rather than pure skill (training, alchemy, poisons, stealth, quality gear, well sharpened blades). |
Topic | If WWE wrestlers were Pokemon, what would be their types? |
polopili 11/26/20 11:54:49 AM #13 | Stone Cold Steve Austin litterally has its types in his name. |

polopili 11/07/20 12:19:59 PM #2 | Season 10 is awful but it gets a bit better with the next ones. |
Topic | Life is HARD for logical people right now |
polopili 10/22/20 7:43:03 PM #10 | The plastic over the keypad is for easier cleaning. One quick wipe instead of having to reach in between the keys. |
Topic | Can dogs tell somehow if they are related? |
polopili 10/22/20 7:18:57 PM #3 | They can probably recognize it through their butt smell |
Topic | the HR lady told me this was a 40hrs/week job |
polopili 10/20/20 9:01:24 PM #11 | It's an engineering position in a forest products mill. Since engineer are technically management positions, we are paid on salary. Regular production personnel get paid hourly. I took this job to learn new stuff and do less overtime but it seems like unpaid overtime is very much the norm. Like I showed up at 8 and left at 7 tonight and my boss was still in his office doing stuff. |
Topic | the HR lady told me this was a 40hrs/week job |
polopili 10/20/20 8:39:19 PM #3 | I don't mind overtime - but I certainly don't like it when it is unpaid. I don't think I'll go past 45 to please them especially considering I could work for their competitor who credits overtime. |
Topic | the HR lady told me this was a 40hrs/week job |
polopili 10/20/20 8:23:23 PM #1 | Yet my boss and most other management personnel work over 50. I work a a bit over 45 now and I feel like my coworkers think I'm lazy. |
Topic | Idea: Instead of an escape room, a break-in room |
polopili 10/19/20 12:19:54 PM #13 | darkphoenix181 posted... You wake up outside an ominous building.I did one near Montreal last year that had this exact scenario. Like one of the players had a bomb vest and we had to break into a bank to get the code. |
Topic | my cat got outside and got lost |
polopili 10/19/20 7:20:16 AM #25 | He's probably much closer than you think. I lost mine for almost a week in winter until my gf heard meowing coming from the sewers. The cat was so scared he did not recognize me anymore, he'd go back into the sewers as soon as it saw me. I borrowed a trap cage from the local animal protection agency and put his food bowl in it. Around midnight I was able to retrieve the cat. He was so scared, he just kept meowing and asking for hugs for an hour. |
Topic | Anyone have tips for resume building? |
polopili 10/12/20 4:00:43 PM #11 | I'd recommend having an overall direction in mind when redacting it. Like put the most valuable stuff first. Also keep in mind that whoever will read this will probably be sorting through dozens of other resumes, so keep it short and sweet. |
Topic | rate my vegan pasta dish |
polopili 10/06/20 11:13:16 PM #9 | Looks good. World have used larger pasta for such a creamy sauce |

Topic | Has anyone here worked a 12 hour shift before? |
polopili 09/24/20 4:10:40 PM #4 | J03can posted... Lol ive worked a 21 hr shift before. look at this badass Anyho, you will probably get used to it. Respecting sleep schedule is extremely important when working long days so you really need to avoid missing a single hour of sleep. |
Topic | Does coffee taste better than tea? |
polopili 09/18/20 2:06:39 PM #14 | They mostly very different products. Like tea has subtle herbal and fruity flavor while the other has in-your-face bitterness with rich depth. |
Topic | Got sent into HR |
polopili 09/18/20 8:48:40 AM #7 | What if he said his back hurts before asking for a standing desk? |
Topic | Pro-USA rally in Canada |
polopili 09/17/20 9:43:15 AM #9 | It was an anti-mask protest in Montreal organized by creepy conspirationists, not a pro-USA march. Of course there will be trump flags in this crowd. |
Topic | What's the blandest video game you've played? |
polopili 09/17/20 9:22:56 AM #82 | Anything Ubisoft makes. The division 2 was just hilarious how bland it was. I mean you might give it a few points for bringing back that lame cover-shooter gameplay from the late 2000s. |
Topic | Neon remembers old flash games >_>: Motherload |
polopili 09/15/20 9:38:20 AM #26 | Lives the game, Im so happy your reminded me of it |
Topic | Have you ever been to the American South? |
polopili 09/14/20 10:03:16 AM #6 | Yep as a Canadian I must have spent almost 2 years across different states over the last decade as part of my job. |
Topic | Honestly, America is way too tolerant of differing "opinions" |
polopili 09/07/20 1:28:06 PM #76 | I blame the education system. Like basic stuff has already been covered, yet theres still arguing over it like its an ongoing debate. I agree that censorship is not the way to go, but discriminating against low-quality arguments is not an attack to freedom of speech and it is not censorship either. |
Topic | Anyone buying stocks today? |
polopili 09/04/20 12:10:37 PM #8 | sold my nvdia stocks at 120% profit. I don't feel like it'll go much further than 520 in a good while. Might be wrong though, but I'm not risking it. |
Topic | People really hate that fake Seymour Skinner episode of Simpsons |
polopili 09/03/20 7:18:33 PM #7 | Its not a bad episode by any means, just an average one. I liked the part were Agnes feels bad for never telling her fake son how she was proud of him. You also learn a bit more about her and what kind of terrible games they play together. Season 9 is definitely where quality starts to dip but it still has plenty of good episodes. |
Topic | Just got my SLS camera today. Ready to hunt some ghosts! |
polopili 09/03/20 3:24:33 PM #9 | How do you know its a ghost and not just the software glitching out? |
Topic | How many of you regret getting your college degree? |
polopili 08/31/20 2:48:34 PM #10 | yep. I got a bachelors degree in wood engineering. Just like most undergrad degrees that are multidisciplinary, they are pretty bad. Like youre decent at a bunch of stuff but not specialized into anything. Kinda like criminology. Yeah you know about sociology, law, psychology but youre not gonna work as a lawyer or a cop. At worse youll be working as a no-experience social worker. |

polopili 08/25/20 8:00:14 PM #15 | I loved ytmnd, so much creativity. I also loved randompics.net around 2009-2012 or so. Does anybody know of a similar site? like you could click and get random funny pictures and most of it was pretty good. |
