His character, which was only supposed to be a minor character, was the reason the mother of the show left halfway in the final season when the show was supposed to be her show given it was a spin off of another ABC show she appeared on. It happened at a BEACH HOUSE in North Carolina renting for about 14,000 a week as it comes just days when federal regulators pushed elevator manufacturers to block th gap bthat allows children to fit between the doors Police were called at around 7pm after receiving reports of a child trapped in an elevator When they arrived, teh boy was trapped between the bottom of the elevator car and the home's upper door frame They tried to resuscitate the boy but were unsuccessful and was pronounced dead at the scene The family was visiting from Ohio and had just arrived to begin their vacation... Sheriff Melton said they aren't sure how it happened and stated "The child was entrapped in the doors. We were able to free him but his head and neck were crushed by the elevator. He died of traumatic injuries sustained in the elevator mishap" This is the first elevator death he has ever witnessed in his lifetime as they are rare but experts say this is exactly why these gaps need to be resolved for accidents like this and the elevator industry was aware of this for decades but never acted upon it when it is a simple fix of just $100 But when the feds pushed for safety improvements in 2019, they received backlash from officials stating and said the problem was complicated and not their responsibility. Matt became enraged when he heard the boy cussing like no other and confronted him in his aunt's front yard and told him he shouldn't be swearing when innocent "kids" were around!! He has since been arrested and charged for assault, battery, and cruelty to children and disorderly conduct 15 y/o Maliyk Sim was the boy attacked that showed footage of him running over to where the kids were playing ad flipped his lid who lectured them on swearing before he grabs the 15 y/o and throws him off camera where a loud bang is heard and then took off his belt and BEAT him with it Maliyk did not fight back however as he told the news he was in shock but didn't want to get in trouble for fighting Latika, his mother was inside her sister's home when she saw what was happening and called 5-0 stating she panicked and couldn't believe a fully grown man would think it was OK to beat a child with a belt She said her son is fully capable of defending himself but didn't want to start a fight with him.
